  1. I know most fans like to draw up scenarios where the Bills trade up, but I'm of the opposite thinking. The smart money in the draft is trading down and accumulating additional picks. More spins on the roulette wheel, so to speak. And with this post, I've cooked up a dream scenario, 5 players in top 74 picks (a thing of beauty): Trade 1: Raiders get #9 & #112 Bills get #24 & #27 Raiders want to get a QB at 9 after taking a blue chipper at #4 Trade 2: Texans get #27 Bills get #54 & #55 Texans look to make a major move back into the end of the 1st round to secure an OT after not selecting an OL with their 23rd pick This leaves the Bills with picks: #24 #40 #54 #55 #74 If you like the way the Bills managed FA, then you should also like this setup. Strength in numbers.....with those 5 picks you're looking at being able to pick up 4-5 players that could possibly start or contribute heavily in 2019.
  2. Very cool...and judging by your name I'm guessing you spend much of it in SE Asia. What baseball team do you work for?
  3. I've been a season ticket holder since 2002: Started in section 117 Spent a few season bouncing around on the visitors sideline Spent the last 10ish or so seasons in Section 136, Row 21 Today I upgraded to Section 134, Row 44. Looks like it's right about at the 45 yard line, which I'm pretty pumped about.......the row, 44, is a little high, but it was my only option to keep my 4 seats together in this section so I went for it. Anybody else in a higher row like this? How do you like them?
  4. Overweight, slow, not quick, doesnt fight for the ball, and appears to have no desire to be out on a football field when he plays. I dont remember disliking a player on the Bills quite like I loathed Benjamin. For all the credit Beane gets around here, he deserves a ton of blame for blowing a 3rd rounder on that guy.
  5. Jawan Taylor has some medical concerns as well as weight issue concerns according to Tony Pauline. I think his stock is lower than what many mock drafters would have you believe.
  6. I despise your Gants trade down sce I despise that Giants trade down scenario. I like the Raiders one quite a bit.
  7. It doesn't have to be and you're right about the Bills massively overpaying last year. By the standard of the draft value chart they got fleeced. The Bills overpayed by 410 points, which is the equivalent of the 49th pick in the draft, a premium pick. In order to get a massive overpay you have to have to teams bidding for the same spot, which apparently happened last year as it was widely reported the Cardinals coveted Josh Allen and were "heartbroken" via Chris Simms when they lost out to the Bills in their attempt to trade up for him........maybe the same thing can happen for the Bills this year at the #9 spot.
  8. I tend to agree, but for the sake of the post I wanted to make the trades as realistic as possible....I've seen some mocks with Bills trade downs that are totally unrealistic, like The Bills getting a 2nd rounder for moving down 2 spots. It'd be awesome for the Bills, but it's a totally homer view of things.
  9. If this was an actual bet you could put money down on you'd have to make the field at least -350 in order to get equal money on each side of the bet. So betting the field as an EVEN money bet would be an absolute no brainer. I'd actually bet -350 on the field
  10. Less than 3 weeks out from the draft and there's a lot of rumors and smoke, most of which is nonsense, some though truth. And it's my belief that the Bills would like to trade down in this years draft. Of course they're doing work on a lot of the top 10 guys, as they should, you always have to be prepared to pick a guy at your spot.....but like I said if they had it their way I think they'd love to move down and pick up another premium pick. This sentiment has been tossed around by a few of the twitter guys I think tend to have good info, Eric Galko being one of them. That brings me to the 2 teams I think might mesh with the Bills desire to move down: The Raiders and the Giants. I think both teams would love to take a premium non QB player with their top pick, and then use their second 1st round pick as part of a package to move up and get their QB. The kicker is I don't think either team wants Haskins.....I think it's Daniel Jones and/or Drew Lock that'll be the guy that goes at #9 if the Bills are able to pull off a trade down. Here's how a potential trade down with both of these teams could look: TRADE w/ Giants: Giants get: #9 & #74 (worth 1570 pts. on the draft trade value chart) Bills get: #17, #37 & #95 (1600 pts.) TRADE w/ Raiders: Raiders get: #9 & #112 (1420 pts.) Bills get : #24 & #27 (1420 pts.) I'd love either of these scenarios, as I'm always a fan of trading down. I think we have a good chance 3 weeks from now!
  11. I'm probably taking Andre Dillard, my favorite LT prospect
  12. Looks like Marshall or Eastern Michigan jerseys, ugly......really bad job by whoever's job that was
  13. DK Metcalf Rashan Gary Montez Sweat The look like Tarzan play like Jane prospects always really worry me.
  14. As a matter of principle, I despise trading up in drafts. Hitting on 2nd, 3rd, 4the and 5th round picks is like gold. To surrender the opportunity to draft those players to get the guy you "HAVE" to have is bad business. Quinnen Williams perhaps being the guy of he gets past 3.
  15. Good post. I was thinking the same exact thing last night. I love Wilkins, and he fills a huge position of need as a penetrating 3 tech DT. He's also strong en8ugh to play some nose tackle as well when needed, which gives him versatility, a other trait the Bills love. I was watching some film on him last night and he really impresses. One key trait I like to see in DL is a quick get off. I hate when a DL is slow to pop out of his stance on the snap (shaq lawson). Wilkins routinely is the 1st guy to react to the snap. I think hes going sooner than I've seen in most mocks. I think 6-15 is his range, so I dont think 9 is too soon. He will be a player Side note: Hes got the exact character and love of football that McBeane covet. Guys a big time leader from everything I've read.
  16. Zay jones fetches you at best a 6th rounder and that's only because he has a couple up cheap years left of you can get anything out of him. His stock is low though.....hes shown very little on the field, and his off the field became a concern last year.
  17. No chance. By giving him the 5th year option you are announcing to Lawson and his representatives that his baseline worth is north of $9M per season, whih is the value of the 5th year option for a DE selected between pick 11-32. While some can argue Lawson had a nice year last year and showed some improvement....paying a player like Shaq Lawson $9M a year would be insane. He's at best an average player, and avg. players can be replaced by players playing for much less than $9M a season. If the Bills think Shaq is worth $5-$7M a year they simply can't put the option on him because the player and agent than totally over value their worth.
  18. This was also hinted big time by a guest on the Cowherd show this past week. I can't quite remember who the guest was, but it was at the very end of the interview, and he said it in a manner that made it seem like the Chargers were going to land him.
  19. Murray before pick 9 is a lock Lock before 9 is probable, IMO Haskins before 9 is 50/50 Unlike what you see in the media right now, I think Lock is viewed as a better prospect in NFL circles and if I were to bet I'd be surer about him going in the top 10 than Haskins. My ideal scenario is Murray goes right away, Lock goes somewhere in the 4-8 range and teams that want a QB start calling the Bill's looking to move up for what they view to be the last 1st r 08und quality QB, in Haskins. I'd love to move down about 8-10 spots and pick up an extra 2nd rounder this year and a 3rd rounder next year. More chances at the roulette wheel as far as I'm concerned. That's what the draft is and the smart teams tend to have more chances on the wheel.
  20. If Allen plays 16 games this year I want to see: -3500 yards passing -600 yards rushing -22 pass TD's -6 rush TD's -less than 12 INT's I would consider this nice progress for year 2.
  21. I actually like Andre Dillard quite a bit. Has the chance to be a very good LT, who excels in pass blocking. The Bills seemed to sign OL in FA that excelled especially in pass blocking, so I would think there would be definite interest in Dillard. Plus LT is a premium position, and I'm never against drafting premium positions early. A OL of: Dillard Dawkins Morse Long/Waddle Nsekhe could really be pretty strong:
  22. Cheaper than I imagined. I thought it was going to be in the $4M neighborhood. A well priced gamble, IMO.
  23. Personally, I'd prefer Justin Houston. Houston is 30, and still playing at a very high level. I believe his ask is likely much higher than Ansah's, as it should be.
  24. Many of the defenses Memphis played against were utterly putrid & I've taken that into account, but I think this kid is going to be really good in the NFL. He's quick, fast, and has great vision and contact balance. He also wastes no motion and explodes north south in a hurry. He has the type of juice I'd love to see added to the Bills offense this year. In Year 1, he could be a special teams demon & I believe a real contributor on offense. Think 100-120 touches on offense for 500-650 yards with plenty of explosive plays sprinkled in. Just what the doctor ordered! He reminds me of Devonta Freeman, coming out of FSU. They have almost identical frames and similar hair on fire running styles, although Henderson's 40 yard, vertical & broad jump all show he's a bit faster and more explosive. One potential downside is Henderson has fairly small hands for a RB, which always brings up fumble worries. Top of the 2nd round is a little too early for him, but I'm not sure he's available when we pick in the 3rd. I'd love to trade down in the 1st and pick up an additional 2nd rounder in order to maneuver for Henderson.
  25. Give me Darrell Henderson in the 3rd. I love him. He has the homerun ability that I want in a young RB prospect.
