No more Bills Radio Network for Albany, NY

My retail clients in the Albany/Saratoga area NEVER sell any Buffalo Bills merchandise. It's strictly Jets, Giants, and worse of all Patriots! Albany is simply too far from Buffalo for the team to compete with the above three NFL teams. That was even the case in the early 90's - the Giants were good back then, too! Remember Super Bowl XXV? You should move here to the 'Cuse. Both Orange and Bills support BIG TIME! Rumor that the Jets are going to replace the Giants at UAlbany for training camp! -

3rd quarter Super Bowl 28 the Bills had the lead AND the momentum AND the Dallas Cowboys were playing like absolute s**t! Thomas' fumble which Cowboy James Washington ran in for a TD woke the Cowboys back up. The TD gave Dallas the lead and it was over after that! -

Had Thurman Thomas held onto the ball, the way he should have, he never would have fumbled it when Dallas Cowboy Leon Lett touched it. Instead, with the Bills in the lead during the third quarter and marching effectively (momentum) with the ball, Thurman fumbled the ball and the rest is history. THIS is the Super Bowl that the Bills should have won. The Cowboys were playing horrible and their ineptitude was ripe for the picking. -

Fast forward three years to Super Bowl 28 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Georgia Dome. Bills fourth Super Bowl in a row, losing the previous three. Third quarter, Bills are leading. The Dallas Cowboys are playing like s**t. Thurman Thomas takes the hand-off from Jim Kelly and Cowboys Leon Lett barely touches the ball and Thomas loses it. The ball is recovered by Cowboys James Washington who runs it in for a TD. The rest is history. THIS is the Super Bowl that the Buffalo Bills should have won. But, Thurman wasn't holding onto the ball tight enough. Had the Bills won THIS game...... -

1. Did you remember to vote for the Buffalo Bills? 2. How do you or anyone else explain the pathetic showing for the Jets in the poll? I mean, they really stunk up the place! The article was about the Jets and I'm sure the Post-Standard is surprised at the horrible Jets poll number. 3. Vote for the Buffalo Bills here: http://blog.syracuse.com/sports/2011/01/nfl_playoffs_which_team_owns_c.html 4. If the Bills were in the AFC Championship game tomorrow and the Giants and Jets hadn't been in the playoffs for the past ten years, believe me, you wouldn't find anyone but Bills fans here in Syracuse. 5. GO BILLS!! -

Thanks, Cablelady! And I'm surprised that no one here is chiming in on how bad the Jets are doing in this poll. Keep voting, Bills fans!! You don't need to register and it takes less than a minute to vote! http://blog.syracuse.com/sports/2011/01/nfl_playoffs_which_team_owns_c.html -

Update: Buffalo Bills back in the lead by about 11 votes. The Bills had a comfortable margin of about 20 votes throughout the (honest) voting until a Giants fan obviously somehow cheated to put them temporarily in the lead. Here's the link again: http://blog.syracuse.com/sports/2011/01/nfl_playoffs_which_team_owns_c.html So, keep up the voting, Bills fans! I don't trust cheating Giants fans!! -
A poll at below link asking which NFL team owns Central New York State. The Buffalo Bills had a strong lead from when the poll was released yesterday afternoon up until about two hours ago. Suspiciously, the Giants gained about 20 votes seemingly out of nowhere. http://blog.syracuse.com/sports/2011/01/nfl_playoffs_which_team_owns_c.html So any CNY Bills fans (or anyone else) out there PLEASE go the link and give the Bills your support. As I said, we were doing very well until just about two hours ago. In other words, I don't trust what's going on. On another note, the Jets are TANKING in the poll. So much for moving them up to Cortland for their training camp. GO BILLS!!

Uh, that would take 1) additional investment and 2) risk. Why would 90 year old Ralph Wilson risk making additional investment when not risking additional investment still produces a significant profit? Anyway, that's MY theory as to why the Buffalo Bills haven't been in the playoffs for 10 seasons.
-
Answer: Ralph Wilson owns a business, the Buffalo Bills. Not a lot of annual investment yields decent profits. If he invests more money in the team, additional investment yield might not be worth it. So, why bother? I don't think he's actually losing money. Just plod along annually at 8-8 and make millions each year.
-
I guarantee that this board will crash with the overload of posts when a new team owner is announced. Posts like: "We all knew that the Bills would never compete for a championship as long as Ralph Wilson owned the team." And.. "Ralph was stingy and had no commitment to winning a championship in something like 20 years." And.. "Ralph did a lot for the Bills and the league - a LONG time ago. Now we have a new owner who is focused on winning the Super Bowl." But until then we can count on Ralph Wilson's goals being strictly financial.
-
And in the world of business the only think that matters is the monetary, financial ($) bottom line. Buffalo Bills Bottom Line: Team owner Ralph Wilson obviously has NO interest in producing a championship team. His goal is only to make as much money, year-after-year, as possible. He does this by bringing in cheap coaches and cheap players and, every now-and-then, a big name player. The big name player, like Terrell Owens, brings fans back to the stadium buying tickets, and also buying NFL jerseys. Analysis: Until the Buffalo Bills is owned by a new team owner who WANTS a championship team, the Bills will never be a championship contender. Never! Suggestion: Until the Buffalo Bills is owned by a new team owner, we're better off finding something better to do with our time. Ex: Here in Syracuse the gradually improving SU Orange football team is getting more of the attention that Buffalo Bills used to get from CNY Bills fans.

Things I think about for the offseason
PearlHowardman replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Derek - This is a very well thought out post. However, since it's obvious that MOST posters here obviously feel that this team has NO future with the draft or most anything else, you're not going to get many well-thought out responses. -
Me, too! I think we might go 7-9 next season and some day we might even go as high as 9-7.

Bills/Browns game viewed as so bad by CBS

Using the F word??? Obviously I touched on a subject that is very sensitive to you. In other words, I'm right. You are a part-time Giants or Jets fan. You're always posting about them!! It's no big deal and there's no need for profanity. OK? -

Obama's Worst Moment...recently
PearlHowardman replied to Keukasmallies's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You seem to be upset. Is it that poll that shows George Bush more popular than Barack Obama upsetting you? Is it the fact that Obama abandoning Clinton at a White House press briefing underscores how big an idiot Obama really is that's upsetting you? Or is it the fact that even simple-minded Sarah Palin is starting to look like a better alternative than air-head Obama? Or maybe it's just simply that Obama is COMPLETELY HUMILIATING HIS OWN DEMOCRATIC PARTY right now!!!
