Turns out that last Sunday WAS the Bills Super Bowl. Was I prescient, or what?
-
The clock strikes 12 for the Buffalo Bills! Kind of puts a more ACCURATE perspective on all those gift turnovers that the Pats gave us last week.

I'm not lost. I'm saying that you're too presumptive. Especially when you consider the Bills record the past ten years and HOW we got to 3-0 by the skin of our teeth this season. -

I think you mean presuming the Bills improve. Also, the Jets have been in the AFC Championship game the past two years while the Bills haven't been in the playoffs for 11 seasons. I wonder if Giants and Jets fans in Albany and elsewhere, if they're aware of this story, are laughing at us Bills fans? People on this board need to calm down. We're 3-0 and two of those games went down to the wire and we won those two games by a total of six points. Both home games. -

That's what I keep saying! P.S. I'm from Syracuse and the Orange lost today - in overtime. To me, it's not a good sign for tomorrow's Bills game. Hope I'm wrong! -

...and Albany's number 2 team the Jets have some recent AFC Championship experience and then there's the other Albany/Saratoga favorite team the Patriots and their recent Vince Lombardi trophies. So, why were Albany area Bills complaining in the first place? We haven't been to the playoffs in over ten seasons. And the Philadelphia Eagles are closer to Albany than the Buffalo Bills are. -

The New York Giants training camp is held at UAlbany. And if memory serves me correctly, I believe the Giants brought their Vince Lombardi trophy to Albany a few years ago after winning the Super Bowl. For their fan base in Albany to see. Albany area Bills fans have a very tough act to follow. -

You know, I tried to kill this conversation about...6 pages ago. Forget Albany! When the Bills are behind the Giants, Jets, and possibly the Patriots in the Albany area just accept it!! These three other NFL teams are much closer to Albany than the Bills are! -
Very well thought out post. Thank you. But....... "Sunday was the Bills Super Bowl" was just what I was thinking at the conclusion of the game this past Sunday. Simply because it was the New England Patriots that we beat. The Sunday game and its outcome was similar to the Bills first game of 2003 when we whipped the Patriots 31-0. When that game ended many Bills fans thought that that game was our Super Bowl - that we shot the wad in the first game of the season. Fans were going crazy after that game but the season kind tanked after that. I remember that 2003 victory and it's lasting implications VERY well.

The NFL does a great job of game scheduling. They know how to keep the whole league interesting from the start of the season to the end of the season. Had we played Oakland and NE away we would have lost both games. The season is young and the entire league is designed to get more and more interesting as the season progresses. Again, Kudos to the NFL.

I can only suggest that you'll keep saying that but adding one more victory for at least the next two weeks. Which is good!

Probably that Albany is a NY Giants town and the Giants won today and to stop bothering the newspaper. And she should also say Congratulations to the Bills & their fans. Then she'll go back to work. -

Looks like the newspaper got tired of taking crap from local Bills fans who did NOT know where to draw the line. Great News: It looks like Buffalo Bills fans now realize that they unnecessarily started a fight with the local Albany newspaper and now understand why the newspaper fought back. Bills fans now understnd that leaving profanity laced voice-mail messages and "demanding" e-mail messages actually backfire. Bills fans also realize that "hassling" television stations for "years" to the point where they "hate" you also backfires. They realize that despite a 2-0 record, the team hasn't been to the playoffs for what, eleven seasons? Bills fans can now focus exclusively on beating the New England Patriots today! All is calm. GO BILLS! -

http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/135501-albany-tv/ "I've harrassed the program director at CBS 6 in Albany for years now and he hates hearing from me." If the local newspaper and local CBS television station found it in their financial interest to cover and broadcast the Buffalo Bills, they would. By the sounds of it there's some really a**hole Bills fans in the Albany area who don't like the fact that they're behind the Giants, Jets, and Patriots. Three teams with seven Vince Lombardi trophies between them, it should be noted. So what do these fans do? They badger the s**t out of the newspaper and television station. So finally the newspaper had enough and fired back at the local Bills fans. This is what Ms. Gish wrote: "You're getting crazy notions again, demanding more Bills coverage in the Times Union. One of you left voicemails for the sports department that would make even a potty mouth like Ron Jaworski blush." I suppose the potty mouth voice-mails were profanity? So the Bills fans in the Albany area started this whole mess. I don't understand why they force themselves on media who don't want them. Worse, they probably look pretty stupid in front of the non-Bills fans there. -

It's simple: Buffalo Bills fans in the Albany area are angry that a local newspaper reporter criticizes them in an article. But it looks like between the newspaper and the local CBS television station, Bills fans have been needlessly hassling them for years. When I first read the post yesterday about the article I thought it was completely uncalled for and the reporter should be in trouble for writing it. Now I realize that the newspaper staff are probably fed up with local Bills fans who continually complain that they are being ignored. So the newspaper shot back! If they don't like the Bills in the Albany media, why try to force yourselves on them? -

Are you sure Bills fans in Albany didn't start this little tiff - a long time ago? And maybe the newspaper finally got fed up? That's the impression I get from reading the article. Why go where you're not wanted? -
From the Times-Union letter: "...demanding more Bills coverage in the Times Union. One of you left voicemails for the sports department that would make even a potty mouth like Ron Jaworski blush." Is she saying that the voicemails had profanity, perhaps? Albany, New York just isn't into the Buffalo Bills. I know this because it's where my regional office & supervisor are located. I gave up on them a while ago. The Philadelphia Eagles are closer to Albany than the Buffalo Bills are. So, local Bills fans are "harassing" and "demanding" more coverage for "years". So when it gets thrown back at you, you're insulted? I'm glad I live here in Syracuse!
-
You know, I'm beginning to think that the Times-Union article that goes after Bills fans in the Albany area was completely justified. It sounds like you go out of your way to be a**holes! From what you just posted and a few defensive lines in the newspaper article. You know?

OMG: I just realized that you're going to need the help of local Patriots fans to accomplish your goal! Since the CBS affiliate broadcasts into New England I suggest you start in Vermont and Massachusetts. But don't fight!
