  1. Sorry, U got me! I meant Feb. 23. I'm all excited about free agency and not thinking straight. By the way Marv has until exactly 12:17am March 3rd to sign someone or else!!!!
  2. March 23rd is the date, right? Not only for Clements, I'd like to know all the other teams choices as well.
  3. I know, it's all over everybodys mock offseason. Just wondering why so many people think we could just move Crowell to the other side and, presto, Posey is gone. LB is a position that could get some surprising attention, and yeah, some around here are aware of that.
  4. I just don't see Crowell as being big enough to play the position. Yes, he is very good in coverage, but don't think he can hold the point of attack well enough to be a true starter there. His extension was insurance just in case Spikes doesn't make it back and be able to work him back slowly if need be. I wouldn't mind a trade down and a Chad Greenway selection in the draft. So many possibilities this offseason...........
  5. Not sold on Preston at all. He's big but just way too weak to get the job done right now. Sure, we have no clue if we have a shot at Bentley, but I think Preston is a career back-up at best. I have no clue why some people are so high on this guy. Yeah, he got some playing time as a rookie, but someone had to play when Villarial got hurt and he just happened to be that guy. Hopefully he proves me wrong but I sure as hell am not counting on it.
  6. I only seen him in the Holiday Bowl as well. He didn't play the 2nd half and only seemed to tie up blockers in the first half. Didn't seem to have much of a first step at all. On a positive, he lined up as the up-back on a fake punt and pulled to lead block for the punter on a sweep. He can haul ass for his size! I remember an old R. Rich post talking about how he also gave the USC line all kinds of problems as well. He is one of the people around here who actually have a clue so I take that as a positive note about him as well. To sum it up, I need to see more film.
  7. Larry Fitzgerald here as well. He's only like what, 22, and already had 100 catches? It's not only the # of catches either he's gonna be great for a very long time.
  8. Bill, your cash/cap space post is one of the best feel good optimisim posts I've read in a while. The $ at the highly paid positions of LT and QB(if they work out) give us the oportunity to really reap the benefits of attacking some other areas. We could definitly do some damage if both line interiors get fixed and these two (JP and JP) work out at QB and LT. Go get em' Marv!!!!!
  9. I believe we already have someone on the roster to man the critical LT spot right now, Jason Peters. I'd like the interior worked on and Williams restructured or draft someone to play there(on the right). Love the Hartings option if it happens as well.
  10. Here's what I know. He's 6'2 and 320, and around 27 or 28 years old. The Rams have 3 1st round DT's and from what I've heard he is the only one who has started to play somewhat up to his potential the last couple of years. I've seen a few Rams games but didn't really focus on him because I didn't know he was gonna become a free agent. Who has really seen him play and not just read something about him? I'd like to sign young up and comers not old stop gaps if possible. Someone tell us something useful here please.
  11. Gotta disagree on Williams not playing up to a decent level Malta. When healthy, our best run blocking Olineman by far. It's just that he makes such a disgusting amount of money it's very easy to slam him on anything that goes bad or he does wrong. I'm with you on Moulds though. Roscoe as a #2, boo hoo! The only guy I want released is Posey. There are quite a few paycuts that need to happen for the rest of the veterans(Moulds, Milloy,Vincent, and young veteran Williams).
  12. Maybe he should change his name to Holcomb's Scrotum. This crap is getting old.
  13. Also just maybe, Oline and Dline just might get help in free agency. Oline or Dine does not have to be addressed with the 1st pick, and I'm one of the biggest "line of scrimmage bitches" out there. It's still too early to be screaming "we have to do this" just yet.
  14. There's this thing that starts March 3rd called free agency. Maybe the Oline and DT can be workd on some there, affording us with the "luxury" pick of a DE or, dare I say it, TE Vernon Davis?
  15. It's all good OnTheRocks. Joe's kid Played LB and OT for Eden. He is now the youngest coach in the league!
  16. Joe's kid played for Eden and got his ass ran over all game long vs. Salamanca in the Ralph Wilson Stadium game. He's about 22 now but Salamanca did have a big bruising back that year. I went to Eden so that is how I know about that game.
  17. I like Demps. The first signing will probably be a lower type 1-1.5ish so he fits. Clements ain't goin' nowhere though so the trade Clements for this draft pick talk needs to stop. My guess for the first official signing is Terrence Metcalf. I truly have no idea though and figure I'd just try to come up with something different.
  18. Bentley would be my top priority if I were GM. I'm not sold on Preston at all. He'll probably be a career backup. I want to find out as soon as possible if Peters can man the left side as well. Man I hope this group gets fixed this year................
  19. Agree with RunTheDamnBall the interior is mostly the prob. I'd also like two new starters at LG and C and a draft pick being groomed to take over for Villarial. I believe we could be good with Peters at LT and Williams(with the 30% paycut) at RT. Let us pray...........
  20. Yo, Backus sucks. The interior is the problem. We already have someone on the roster who can play LT better than Backus, Jason Peters. As long as MW takes the maximum paycut(30%) we are fine at the tackles. Of course I have my own sick dream offseason, but the best we can probably hope for is a Bentley at center and a Neal or Terrence Metcalf at guard free agency on the Oline. The Duke makes me puke, sorry. I'd like the Oline fixed in free agency and use the draft (except for at least one Olineman) used to get younger on D. If MW is gone, add in one of those picks on a RT. We need to take advantage of the production vs. $$$$$at LT Peters can provide for a season or two.
  21. Love Cromartie in the 3rd! I really hope his injury pushes him there and if he looks healthy wouldn't even blow a gasket taking him in the second.
  22. Williams situation is very similar to Browns, just add in missing too much time with injuries and showing up the one year way out of shape. His contract just far outweighs his production. Unfortunately, we can't even bring his contract down enough to make anybody satisfied. He is like it or not the best run blocking lineman the Bills have by far when healthy. If he could be brought down to 3mil per year, he might have a chance, but I believe the maximum paycut you can make a plyer take is 30%. Verdict: Nice knowin' ya.
  23. Oh, throw in Ryan Pickett if he makes it to free agency and if not the guy from Baltimore if Pickett stays. Of course, you could say this about any of these players making it to free agency before you can go after em'. It's all speculation for now but hey, there sure ain't nothin' better to do right now if you're a Bills fan.
  24. I like Dayne, Allen and Metcalf. I find a way to keep Moulds and go after Allen even if we keep Clements. All our nickle guys are pathetic as is Shaud Williams. I think Peters can handle the left side and be way better than Schaffer and make Williams take the maximum paycut and stay at RT. Like it our not he is our best run blocking offensive lineman by far when healthy. I go heavy on the D in the draft.
