  1. I'm all for it. Preston needs at least two more offseasons of strength training to be a full time starter. I'm anti-Duke but if he gained a lot more strength I'm willing to give him a shot. He's got a ways to go though.
  2. Sure, someone will find some way to blast you, but not too bad in my book. Nobody has a ctystal ball so who knows how things will shake down in the end.
  3. If we took Winston, Trueblood, or Scott over Hali I'd go on a killing spree!
  4. Hali is my preference, and I would want Ngata over Bunkley at 8 for sure. You still gotta stop the run, and Ngata probably does it better than any tackle in the draft.
  5. He seemed to help Denver's D quite a bit last year and is still young. What say you?
  6. In a trade down, I also like Hali, Lawson, and Bunkley R. Rich. I thinking more and more this is the way to go if at all possible. We need the right deal to do it though. I stand firm on another 2nd rounder.
  7. 3.) I agree, we probably are not the most attractive place to go for a free agent. Somehow, we gotta get an Olineman or two in here one way or another before the draft for the simple reason that we have to give our QB a chance to develope(no, I don't mean Holcomb). If JP doesn't show promise behind a line that performs well we will know whether or not to address the position. I wouldn't hurt to be safe and get one in here this year just in case. Let's hope for some solid signings in the coming days and weeks.
  8. I agree Dr. Fong. For this year, the cap remaining the same would of helped us more in this free agency period. Hopefully we'll still do some good things.
  9. Upshaw still is a piece of you know what cause Matt Birk said so!!!!!!!1
  10. If we go the draft route, I like all your choices GuessWhosBack. Right now it seems there are a lot of solid 2nd round safetys in this draft. I hope one falls to round 3 and we snag him there. As much as I was joking about the 300 lb. guy with the first pick joke it is a huge need. If we end up going with someone who is not a lineman with the first pick we almost gotta with the 2nd.
  11. Like your avatar Rico! Like Sundowner Stadium as well.
  12. I think we could get by for another year with Vincent at FS in this scheme, but what about SS. Besides salary the popular opinion on the Milloy release is he didn't have the cover skills for the scheme. But what about John Lynch? Nobody is gonna rave about his cover skills but he has been pretty good in this scheme. I personally prefer if at least one of my safetys can really hit the you know what out of the reciever. Sure we may lose some coverage ability but if we are gonna go with Vincent at FS I'm targeting either Archuletta or Tank Williams. No matter what the scheme I think you gotta have a physical presence back there somewhere. I'd be interested in some other opinions on ths subject. Oh, of course the front four improving can make a lot of things better so don't think I'm forgetting about the lines, because we can't take ANYTHING but someone who at least weighs 300 lbs. with our 1st round draft pick!
  13. 12:01am Friday. Tommorow night basically.
  14. When you pick this high, you take a position that is likely to not make it to free agency(LT, pass rusher, even Gates type TE nowadays). Sadly, a LT or pass rusher won't be worth the slot we are picking. DT, Davis, or a trade down are our likely options. LT(Shaffer), would just cost too damn much and he's probably a system type guy like Lepsis. We have to pray Peters can man the position( I have high hopes, some don't) and focus on the interior in free agency and maybe we get a guy to develope somewhere in the draft(don't count on it though) to groom at LT.
  15. He sure sucked at guard. Kind of reminded me of a guy named Pucillo. I've seen all I need to see from this freakin' guy.
  16. We need a center. Sure, Bentley would be killer, but a center IS needed. Preston is not the answer. The guy gets thrown out of the way too easily. I hope we get a truely stout guy who can move some as well. Duke ain't that guy.
  17. They have Fraley at center. Don't see this happening. Bentley wants to stay at center as well. Who know, who cares. He is my free agent of choice, especially caue Preston SUCKS, but I won't jump off a bridge if we don't get him.
  18. Rueben Brown started as a rookie. It's a different league now anyways. As for the pressures Clements22, sure there have been some, but even Strahan himself has said Runyon has done an outstanding job against him.
  19. Man I am loving this! It is actually good for the Bills situation. Well, off to work I go. I'll be back tonight to enjoy the carnage. Whooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
  20. LT of the future. Sorry, no Ferguson dreamers. I believe Peters will end up about as good as him anyways. But he played TE! Guess what, so did Ferguson! Lock him up good Marv.
  21. Can we just get rid of this jism once and for all. It's just not funny anymore. Man, he sucks! Let's all jump out of a swimming pool for Coy! Explosive movement my ass.
  22. and John Runyon. Hopefully he is released. Don't even try bringing up Strahans 3 sack game against him because since then, he has completly STONED Strahan. He's got a good 3 years left and would be a decent salary signing with GREAT effort. I list Joseph as my draft hopeful(in the 2nd if we have to) because I want a guy who can play all 4 quarters at a high level. We've tried the supersized lineman experiment long enough and I'm ready for some guys who can just play some ball for 4 quarters.
  23. Amen Bill. Even if it's not the first pick(no, it doesn't have to be a lineman you hammerheads), let's hope that between the draft and free agency(anyone remember that?) the lines get a significant amount of attention this offseason.
