Although Calvin Johnson is the one skill player I wouldn't be against drafting, the Bills will pick 10-12th, Johnson will go top 3. I would like Joe Thomas or Sam Baker, but believe we'll probably settle for Levi Brown. Of course I'd like Gains Adams too but believe he'll go top 3 with Calvin Johnson.
I don't see Levi Brown going top 7 at all Astro. As you can see from my sig, I think we'll get the 10-12th pick. Who knows what CB will be taken at that spot?
I am willing to give Marv another draft as well. You can't fix it all with one and I pray he'll beef up the O in this next one. I guess the plan is build a D to keep us in games till the O comes around. The thing is, I wouldn't mind another DT and pass rushing end myself, and all that would probably take another two drafts to finish off the D and rebuild the O. Look at Chicago, they went all D anyways this draft.
Still too early to tell on Mangold McCargo, but I knew we were gonna just miss Barnes and was hoping for a trade up too MrLocke. Rounds 2-3 are the rounds for interior guys or tackles who fall a little (Barnes, Winston Justice). Drafting Big Uglies with great upside in rounds 2 and 3 on a regular basis usually ensure you will be a tough physical team, something we're not.
Has he really been that bad R.Rich? As you can see from my sig, I was hopeing he could solidify our RT position, since I believe we will pick 10-12th and just miss top LT prospects Joe Thomas and Sam Baker. I am hoping we can still land one of em' and have the unfortunate problem of deciding which tackle spot to play Thomas/Baker and Jason Peters at.
New England has done the same thing and it's worked pretty good for them. I didn't say it was guarenteed( look at the Raiders too) but I stand by drafting lineman early as the best approach to building a solid team.
Quitr correct Ramius. The thing is when Brees became available he had proven he was good. I don't care how long it took, but we could have gone after him KNOWING he was good. We still DON'T know if Losman is good or how long it will take to find that out. I do know while not setting the world on fire that Brees would perform better RIGHT NOW behind this same line. As for 2 years from now, who knows.?
I believe we will end up around pick 10-12, just missing Sam Baker and of course Joe Thomas( 2 potential great LT's ) and settling for probably the best RT prospect, Levi Brown, although he currently plays LT at Penn St.
I'd target Joe Thomas, Sam Baker, or Gaines Adams(DE). Unfortunately, we'll be picking a CB to replace Clements, and the sucking will continue. Actually we'll be picking 10-12th so, we may miss all 3 of my picks. Hopefully Levi Brown will still be there and we can plug him in at RT.
Exactly. The line is so friggen bad it limits what plays we can call. If we would have passed in those situations today all 3 of our QB's would be in the hospital.
The right side is completely pathetic Bill. They were the reason for the 50,000,000 draw plays today. Clements has gotten better lately and yes Daquixers, resign him Marv, even if it only means not drafting a 1st round corner. Hell, I'd be happy with a guard at pick #10 over a corner replacing Nasty Nate. Our line holds back what plays we can call( that's why so many play calling complaints) and JP's progression, although in other games there has been plenty of blame for him as well. Lastly, agree on Whitner, but believe we'll see what he is good at when (if) we field an offense that can get us some leads once in a while.
Our O lost the game for us. They are pathetic. Even if Lindell made the kick we would of still lost 20-19 anyways. 17, 16, 20, 17, 7, 17, 6, 24, and 16 are our scores for the year, counting defensive TDs. Our offense is just plain horrible.
