How about those Florida Gator recievers?
-
Actually, with more two TE sets becoming more popular, Graham would be a great move. Not only is he a great blocking TE, cielslak86 (are you his wife?), he IS a good reciever too, better than Royal, but not one of the rare freaks like Tony G, Gates, and Vernon Davis (those guys are RARE). We would have two of the best blocking TE's in the game ( how's that for unexpected Oline improvement ) while both being legit pass catching threats. I think it would really balance out our offense. Nobodys saying we don't have other needs tennesseeboy ( and nobody besides me and of course BillInNYC are more on the same page as far as linemen go ), but count me in for going after Daniel Graham. We can hopefully get a guard in free agency and go DT, DE, and another guard in the draft!

There was a story in the Murfreesburo Times about Holcomb coming to the Titans to back-up Young if he is released. It's a town outside of Nashville. I know, who cares.

Former Orchard Park HS player in SB?
JStranger76 replied to Marv Levy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great story and all but the dude's a stiff. A poor man's Kelsay or Denny at best. -
I was writing as you posted Simon but believe we are all close to being almost on the same page, especially with adding another OT in the 2nd or 3rd round, not on the 2nd day!

I think we'd all like Alan Branch but I believe 2003 thinks Okoye is a more realistic possibility. Branch is almost a lock for top 5 while Okoye is projected from around 9-15. I'll also add that I agree that Boss Bailey could really flourish in our D and create a vicious battle between Crowell, Spikes and Ellison for the remaining two spots. I don't think any move you made is pure fantasy and the only slight difference of opinion I have is that Cieslak is strictly a back-up TE and was our only option when Shelton went down. I like the Le'Ron McClain pick a lot as well and the only other change I would make is sign Daniel Graham as a free agent and focus on pass rushers and interior offensive lineman/maybe RT with our 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Best realistic offseason yet. My hat goes off to you! Well done.

What's the first Super Bowl you REALLY watched?
JStranger76 replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first one I really remember is 49ers 55, Broncos 10. -
With the front 4 being relied on to get most of the pressure in our D, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the top 2 DE's are still on the board we pick one of em'. Throw in Gaines Adams or Jamal Anderson as possible selections if still on the board..........

Enough with this, draft a DT with...
JStranger76 replied to LevysEraII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with some pushing for an anchor type DT( Ian Scott, Terell Sands ), but with him hopefully currently working out and all offseason, maybe John McCargo can fill the anchor role with Kyle Williams ( also having a good offseason to get stronger ), affording us the luxury of rotating Tripplett and ( if he's even available ) Okoye at the 3 technique. If you read BillsDaily write up on McCargo our scouts claimed he had NT potential, but that remains to be seen. While on the subject of drafting a great D we could always use another pass rusher so I'd love if Gains Adams or another top rusher fell to us............ -
It's nice to know he and the Bills haven't even been in contact. He's gone guys. We ain't even gonna try, in true Buffalo Bills fashion.
-
It's not like the kid couldn't put on all the weight he needs before THE DRAFT, not to mention the season. Who's to say McCargo can't be the guy who they want to bulk up for the nose? If Okoye is BPA, you better take him, he could be our Tommy Harris!
-
Realistially there isn't any center in the draft or free agency who would be a promising upgrade. Do I think Fowler is solid enough? Depends. If we had either Steinbach/Deilman at LG and one of Levi Brown, Justin Blaylock or maybe Ben Gruggs at RG I think Fowler could really excel. If we stay the same no, I don't think Fowler is solid enough.
-
Jauron733 is correct. 6'2 and 287 lbs. NFL DraftCountdown is very reliable also, as is GreatBlueNorth. A lot of good sized but not fat slob guards out there too, hope we get one of em'. Levi Brown, Justin Blaylock, or Ben Grubbs and I'll be a happy camper.

Kevin Curtis Vs Mike Furrey

Daniel Graham. -
A bigger, longer #2 WR for the Bills
JStranger76 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sign Daniel Graham for a very solid two TE set (and they both are good blockers!) complimented by our 4 reciever smurf-set outside the red zone. I personally will be very happy if we did this and sign one free agent and draft one Olineman for the offense. -
Ravens have quite a few players in
JStranger76 replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thomas doesn't really fit this D, unless they tweaked it to let him rush the passer a lot. I don't see any Ravens being targeted by the Bills. -
I'm personally on the Okoye bandwagon at 12 but Levi Brown would work just fine being plugged in anywhere besides LT or center. Not a pick which will make a lot of noise, but a pick that will decrease sacks and increase rushing yardage! You could also argue picking Aaron Sears in rd 2 to get a similar situation where he could play RT or either guard spot, right tennesseeboy!
-
Look how average the Bears Dline looks without Tommy Harris. Honestly, we are way better off rolling the dice with a draft pick who could turn out to be a true impact guy instead of all the free agents who are really just rotation guys. Now if Kris Jenkins is released......( yeah, yeah, I know, two knee injuries, red flag, red flag!!!! ) but if he returns to form...............anyways, I'm now in full force offseason mode and just thinking how we can improve like the rest of yous! This is my take on the free agent DT crop now tell me how you feel................
-
5'11 and 215 now, about 200-205 during warm weather months. Just started my running the 10th so I plan on trying to stay that weight more year round. As for position, probably a Kelly Holcomb type QB with a stronger but less accurrate arm and a little better scrambling ability.
-
You may be right. I hope we take a run at one of em' regardless, or Leonard Davis.
-
The only guard who will get that kind of bonus is named Steinbach.
-
Thanks for the links Lori, work ethic, willingness to be coached, and character definitely don't seem to be a concern with this kid. I can't wait for his combine workout #s come out, especially his lifting #s. I'm just curious what he can lift at his age, even though as we have learned, these do not always make a good football player, right Leif Larson?

Players I am sick of hearing about at 12
JStranger76 replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind Poslusny on the Bills, if he somehow fell to the 2nd round. I really just don't think either one of these guys are #12 material, even if their positions were glaring needs for this team. I'm personally torn between Okoye or Willis right now, and that will probably change after the first few weeks of free agency...........which will change many things...........hopefully for the better. -

Sorry again, I forgot to add Ginn Jr. isn't even that good of a reciever, he's just very fast, and only in straight line speed. The guy has Bucky Brooks written all over him. No fricken way we draft him!
