I was hoping it was Zappa.

People who don't think the Bills need CB's because they run the "cover 2" when they actually run it maybe 20% of the time.

What's the plan to fix the offense?
JStranger76 replied to enoff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm quite optimistic we'll add "good players" on the offensive side of the ball. It will be on the defense to keep us in games for a while though until the many young skill position players learn and grow together. Hey, at least the Oline will have had some time together for once so that could help make things go a little more smooth. I'd like to add that Will James guy so offense and one more DE/DT can be the focus of this draft. -
Great corners a waste with our defense?
JStranger76 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In agreement. Like I said, just throwing ideas around, something like signing Will James and drafting a CB in the 2nd or even 3rd round could work fine. I think James could start on the outside and the draft pick could replace Greer who, prior to this year, always did enough to make the team, but put it in cruise control for the regular season. I'm not sold on him, and would like some new blood brought in. As for TE Bill, will we ever get a good one?!?!?! We can only keep wishing I suppose. -

I don't think we have two solid CB's at all, I think they are both borderline nickle/#2 types. I also understand we have other pressing needs, and would sign Will James and go CB in round 2 or 3. For all you "we run the cover 2 so CB's don't matter crowd", Fewell has stated we run it only about 20% of the time, so they are needed more than most think. -
WR Devin Thomas and TE Kellen Davis
JStranger76 replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There ain't many 6'4 - 6'6 WR's who can play people. We definitely need a size upgrade but if the better reciever is ONLY 6'2 and not 6'5, I'm going with the guy who is 6'2. I'd feel better about Thomas if he did it for more than one year but he is only 21 and has a lot of upside. He's on my radar........ -
If healthy he's definitely better than Jackson, but also would probably want a starting gig and more money than Jackson too. While I'm not as high on Jackson as most around here, I see the Bills staying with Lynch, Jackson, and Wright for at least another year.

Julius Jones - Likely to be traded
JStranger76 replied to JuanGuzman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's about it. Never understood why anyone thought he could be a #1 back. -
Tim Anderson hasn't put on any weight. He played last year at 325. The updated weights on the Bills roster were WAY overdue.......... If we go DT in the draft, he's gone anyways.

I'd love Jamal Anderson, Okoye, or Branch in the first round. Hargrove and Denny are replacable, and our DT's could still use a lot of help. I VOTED YES!!!!! We could also use Jamal Anderson on both ends until he could take over for Schobel in a couple years full time.

Tennessee's DT Justin Harrell.
JStranger76 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let me add what I'd like is to keep 5 with a draft pick canceling Tim Anderson out the door. DTs get hurt a lot so I would keep five. Please don't give me the Hargrove can kick inside if needed crap. Just cause he did last season( because McCargo was injured by the way ) doesn't mean he was effective at it. As for Harell, I like him, if he fell to the second round at our pick. -

Exactly JPTheRealDeal07. We have 5 on the roster, but most of em' ain't worth a damn. -
He may not last till the 3rd, but that would be the very earliest I'd take him. I only see him as a slightly better Rob Conrad, but who knows.

Anderson and Hargrove Re-sign.
JStranger76 replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both would be the odd man out if we spend a draft pick on one of their positions, but at least we have a full depth chart at DT and DE now! -
Carriker really makes you wonder. He might turn out good but I get the feeling he'll end up just another guy. I'm on the Peterson or Okoye bandwagon myself, but still have some red flag feelings about both of them as well. I hope we strike it big and the guy we end up with really makes a big impact!!!

Honestly, I don't think any CB in this draft is top 20 material. I don't think Hall has "great" potential, but will most likely get paid like it when he is allowed to hit the open market. I'd like a RB or DT myself as I don't believe any LB's are top 20 material either, with the exception of Willis, who is borderline top 20 but will go higher because of his pro day 40.

As long as the pick ain't Pos and all of Cheektowaga is disapointed I'll be happy!
-
Sure, I know we need a CB and Hall probably is the best all-around CB in this draft who also fits our D very well, but damn, I HATE 1ST ROUND CORNERS WHO DON"T GET RE-SIGNED OR EXTENDED!!!!! Watch it happen people, I hope Bill survives this draft...............

A reason to draft Alan Branch or Okoye at #12
JStranger76 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have 5 DT's on the roster and while a couple still have some upside, RIGHT NOW none of em' are very good. I'd have no prblem if we took Okoye or Branch if Marv or Modrak thought one of them was the best pick for us. -
Bills bring in a LB - Warrick Holdman from Wash
JStranger76 replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see why he wouldn't either but there are always guys who think they are starters and to good for special teams. If Jauron brought him in to begin with I'm sure he's willing to be a team player. -
The thingy about Peterson not fitting the offense we run, what offense is that exactly? Many posters here think we run the Rams offense because Fairchild coached under Martz in St. Louis. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Fairchild has said he would run an offense to fit AFC East conditions because he knows we play in an outdoor stadium way up north people. I have been pleased with Fairchild so far because he seems to be willing to be flexible with his personel, which sadly hasn't been very good. Whether we take Peterson or any other back, I'm pretty confident Fairchild would be willing to tweak this offense a little bit to fit whatever skillset our new RB brings to the table. Make no mistake though, there will be a new RB on this team after the first day of the draft. Oh, by the way, good post Dr. I am in agreement about keeping our options open, but as far Peterson or Willis being the wrong guys, we shall see my good Dr...................

Would be OK depth if he is willing to also play special teams. -
Johnson. I think the Raiders will add another QB before the draft. If it happens, the draft should be very interesting.............

If Peterson is still Avail at 10....
JStranger76 replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If giving up one of our 3rds meant getting Peterson, ABSOF**KINGLUTELY. As for our 2nd rounder, I'd like to hold on to that one this year.
