  1. Awesome thread!
  2. I'm not mocking Butler, I just don't think he has the proper frame to do the job a RG is supposed to be able to do, push his guy BACK on a regular basis on running plays. On the other hand, his height probably makes him a better pass protector that you expect out of your RG. We could do a lot worse, but I don't put much stock in the "grading system" or YPC to a particular side. I hope Butler gets better as a run blocker, but he sure beats the hell out of Tuten Reyes and Joe Panos!!!
  3. But Butler cosistently grades out highest out out everybody on the line......
  4. Sounds like the dreaded high ankle sprain man.............
  5. I believe The Real has said he worked at a nicer restaurant or something. It doesn't matter though, because someone will post there is no way a regular ole member of the general publis could have ever been in the same room as a professional athlete. Guys like that help remind me my life ain't too bad.
  6. Probably some steers and queers.
  7. Plus remember we have gone up against teams with WR's basically off the street. When we play the Cardinals, we will need Schobel to have a good day vs. Mike Gandy! Will that be too much to ask? Stay tuned.........
  8. I'm not really bashing him, just agreeing he's a little overrated and overpaid. I don't want to trade him, that's for sure.
  9. I ask the "why not more drive blocking" question a lot myself.
  10. He has a point, you don't pay a man 50 M who you can single block on a regular basis. Screw the stats, we see it with our own eyes. I'm not about trading him at all, but yeah, he is overrated and overpaid.
  11. But, but Schobel is 2nd only to Jason Taylor in sacks since 2003.... Someone would have said it, but like LaBatt said, we don't have a replacement either.
  12. As I've said in another thread, count me in on not being impressed with the run blocking. With our size, I expect a better push in the run game. We shouldn't have to rely on "spreading em' out" to control the line of scrimmage.
  13. I don't go by statistics, or especially "this particular lineman grades out the highest" stuff. The run blocking is barely average. Not bad, just not as good as I wish it was. Once again, as most here already know, a better center would really put the finishing touch on the O-line. Also, while I like Brad Butler and "he grades out very high" and all, his height doesn't do him any favors when it comes to short yardage situations. It doesn't take looking at statistics to see this area is what keep us from being an elite offensive line, but hey, we've still come a long way baby!!! On the front 4 on defense, I don't think it's a problem, just not quite good enough. I don't mean to sound negative especially after a victory, just pointing out a couple areas I wish we were a little better in.
  14. I tried telling people Miami can run block and have two very good backs. I don't care how much weed RW smokes he's still a good back and Ronnie Brown has always had a great size/speed combo, it was just a matter of him coming back from injury or not.
  15. Which makes for a great story and a great time on Sunday, which is way better than what we've seen lately, and I'm happy about it. Just saying I think we need to be better in a couple areas to win that championship!
  16. Glad we got the win, but what I already knew was shown again today. We are barely average at run blocking, and barely average at rushing the passer without blitzing. These two factors will be the main reasons our season will end.
  17. Playoff sack don't count as regular season sacks, which Bruce also owned until Willie McGinest broke the record.
  18. Just out of curiosity, what LB position is Maualuga projected to play in the NFL? From what I understand he'd probably be able to play at any of em'.
  19. That's pretty much it. I love how hard he plays and his hustle but IMO he doesn't really ever require a double team and just has a nice knack for the sack. I'm happy we have him and all, but yes, I've been spoiled by Bruce friggen Smith. Sure, Schobel is 2nd only to Taylor since 2003 but how often have teams really had to gameplan an extra blocker vs. him?
  20. Never count out a Daniel Snyder throwing big money around just so he can say I spent a lot of money, we're gonna be good!!! Greer could be the beneficiary of something like that.
  21. I'm not totally convinced he'll get a huge offer either. We could luck out and retain him at a Will James type contract and wage a similar CB battle next training camp, which would suit me just fine.
  22. Let me clarify my view. I'm pretty sure the Bills wouldn't mind keeping Greer at around what they are currently paying McGee, which I believe was around 5 years 17 M or something like that. Greer will probably get a 5 year 25-30 M deal from someone else (5-6M per year). A franchise or transition tag will pay him 7-9 M at a one year minimum. NOBODY will give him that.
  23. Right on Dean. Also, I don't see Greer getting any kind of tag either. I like the guy, and think he'll get more $ than Buffalo is willing to pay, but no way in hell will he get franchise or even transition type money be it by tag or a contract offer. I would bet my life on it. For real.
  24. Maybe, but being a 3rd CB is basically starting these days anyways, so the Bills may feel like keeping Youboty right at nickle, where he has looked good so far. Reggie Corner will be giving him heat though.....
