  1. I thought he did pretty decent. Probably better than Fowler would have done as well. I'd personally stick with Preston for now, that's all we got.
  2. That sounds good. DL is one of those hit or miss positions so (although expensive) I'd like to get a proven guy (DT or DE)in free agency (or Stroud-like trade) if possible.
  3. DaGimp, with you on that. One of the scenarios that has been going though my sick mind is to actually bring back Preston, say goodbye to Fowler, and target Alex Mack with our 1st round pick. I'm not saying have Mack learn behind Preston so don't everybody all freak out at once, but just for a little insurance in case Mack needs a little time (like the bye week or after 4 games) to get up to speed. Center is one of 4 out of 6 "MUST UPGRADES" that need to happen for this team to become a true contender IMO. The other 5 are TE, DT, DE, OLB, and RG. If we can come out of this offseason with 4 of those 6 upgraded (2 free agents, two drafted), I'll feel real good about being a true championship contender.
  4. Yeah but not in the NFL's mind. Anything that could help improve an NFL poster boy led team would get a free pass. It would get called a "great strategy" by all the Manning pole smokers.
  5. Keep him but make him inactive. I'll be pissed if we release him and he instantly gets picked up. That's what you get for being a lazy millionare.
  6. Our pathetic pass rush will give Rivers all day to spread the pain. We will have to have a great day on offense with a couple big returns to pull this one out......
  7. This would be a good year to go C and RG within the first 3 rounds IMO.....and a TE. Go after DL and LB in free agency.
  8. I guess we'll see everybody. IMO I thought Preston looked better than Fowler in the preseason, so wait and see I suppose. Big task this week for whoever is playing center............
  9. As bad as Preston has been if the Bills could trust his shotgun snapping he would probably start over Fowler. I also was calling for a swap at center during the bye. This could be another situation like Anthony Thomas and Freddy Jackson.... most here could see it but it takes an injury for the coaches to make the move. Barring any shotgun mishaps, I expect an upgrade. Go Puke Preston!!!!
  10. Or they were gonna activate Corey Mace and expect him to kick some serious ass!!!
  11. That's fine but it doesn't change the fact that the Bills don't run a zone blocking scheme. Now, Joe D may feel the Bills run too many plays that resemble the zone block scheme but they don't run the Denver system whether Joe D thinks they do or not. No offense taken, no big deal. Like I said though, it doesn't really matter because the personel on the line prevents the line from being great at smash mouth or zone. It's FUBAR.
  12. I know people will say how can Hall of Famer Joe D be wrong well he is. McNally has never employed a zone scheme and neither has Kugler at Bosie St. and now with the Bills. Assistant Ray Brown had never been part of a zone scheme either. Sorry, Joe D is wrong with the zone scheme. The Bills simply try to get too fancy instead of just being more physical, but in all fairness, the center and RG aren't suited for a straight ahead physical scheme either. It's pretty f***ed up right now.
  13. Count me in on going after Jason Brown. Sure, it hurts when we could have just drafted him instead of Puke Preston and we obviously will have to build almost the entire O line by free agency but it needs to be done. There are also two center prospects coming out in Alex Mack and Jonathan Luigs who I like so hopefully we finally get it right this offseason at the center position.
  14. We do not use a zone blocking scheme for the last GD time people. The problem is a center with no explosive power and a RG who is built like a overweight power forward in basketball. Now, EVERY team uses a few zone blocking concepts, the Bills included, but only for certain plays. Denver and now Atlanta are the two teams who use the scheme just about all the time. Watch those two teams and you'll see a true zone blocking team. Of couse, a legit TE would keep an extra defender out of the box too........
  15. Not at his age, I would have gone a 3rd and McCargo. With a deep draft class coming, I'm not gonna miss an opportunity at a Posluszny/starting caliber player in round two........
  16. Yeah but we are almost forced to take another swing at a DT in the upcoming draft which IMO is a good thing.
  17. Yeah, the Everitt, Schouman, and Fine picks were courtesy picks. Just so they could say they picked a TE while we barely can maintain our sanity. Bastards!!!!!!!!
  18. If ya wanna point the finger you probably have to look no farther than his smokin hot wife. "Oh honey, don't make me go to Buffalo"........... Sad, but probably what happened.
  19. The Boss kid in Giants land was a one year wonder and TE is a VERY upgradable position for the Jersey Giants. As for the 2009 draft being the best ever, wow, I don't see it, but ya never know. You never like to part with draft choices, but it's just been so damn long since we've had a great TE around here, even just for 2-3 seasons.........
  20. A third and McCargo is my final offer.
  21. Agreed. I listed DE, DT, C, TE, and LB, but yeah, I'm all for another guard as well. I'm not a Butler fan as most already know. IMO, Dockery has been slightly dissapointing as well, but that's mainly because of his salary.
  22. I'll add that there's no need to worry about losing Jackson should a trade happen, it wouldn't make any sense for anybody. I would add McCargo plus a draft pick to make it happen though. With the ball control improvement Tony G would offer, we could probably get by with 3 DT's or bring up a guy from the practice squad or off the street. I mean, the guy wouldn't have much to live up to. And don't even mention the McCargo/flashes of brilliance crap posted around here. How in the hell is shooting a gap completely UNBLOCKED and getting a tackle for a loss brilliant?!?!?! Someone please explain it to me. That's all the guy has done, a few times. Teams don't even think he needs to be blocked and oh wow, McCargo makes a tackle!!! Wooooooooo!!!! I'm willing to cut my losses personally.
  23. On a serious note, I forgot to throw in LB as an early option if the right player is around.
  24. Now that's just crazy talk Bill.
