  1. If we still had a pre-injured Spikes he could also be the 3rd down LB and we'd have a LB who teams didn't know if he would blitz or cover, cause Mitchell cant cover and Ellison can't blitz. As for Poz, he get's decent depth on obvious run down's but pass coverage definitely is not a strength of his. OK i'll stop dwelling now.
  2. I 2nd the Sieve post. We need THREE players added to the front 7. A LB,DE, DT or even a LB and TWO DE's.
  3. Pick any of the 3 and you know it has a good chace of happening. Jauron will play it off saying it was the gentlemanly way to approach the situation.
  4. What Bill from NYC said. I would offer him something like 4 years 12 Million and see what happens. If some team wants to better that offer and send us a high pick that's fine with me too.
  5. I wish he never got injured and was playing weakside LB for us right now with Mitchell at strong-side. I don't mean to dwell on it, but Spikes was one of my (and I'm sure many here) favorite players until that damned Achilles injury. Here's to you Takeo although in a losing effort of course!
  6. I would love to add another DT to pair with Stroud and move Williams and Johnson to the 2nd wave, but I just don't see any realistic scenarios to make that happen. Besides Cody in the draft, all the other DT's are too undersized for my liking, and I doubt any quality DT's hit free agency. This past offseason was the big time DT movement, and they were all mostly by trades. DE or center would be my highest draft priorities...OLB in free agency. I don't see the Bills going after a TE, I've lost all hope for that move.
  7. The 3.4 and 5.3 doesn't tell the story. I read that article too. Teams overload the left side for one thing, and each side's success is not directly related to one guy. I agree Butler is a solid pass protector, but if you watch HIM, he hardly has ever pushed his guy back. Hey, it beats lining up Whittle or Preston at that spot but I just disagree about the whole Butler is the highest grading lineman statement.
  8. No, but in this case it is. Sometimes you're just right about certain things. This is one of those instances. I'm sorry for not going into much detail, but a guards #1 ability should be to get a push in the run game, Butler does not.
  9. I agree that the "grading out system" is pretty much horses**t. Butler is our 4th best Olineman, end of story.
  10. Butler is a solid pass protector, but doesn't fit a team with a power running philosophy. He just doesn't have that type of build for a guard. Not that we can consider the Bills a power running team anyways! I could live with Butler if we can find a Kevin Mawie type center (Alex Mack! ) in the draft.
  11. I wouldn't mind bringing him back until our 1st or 2nd round rookie center is ready to make the line calls. On a side note, Jake Grove, a center many here were fairly high on a few years back, is set to become a free agent. From what I've heard he's kind of been a disapointment but another name to throw around for "the guy to keep the seat warm for the rookie". With the tough nose tackles in our division (now we know how other teams felt having to face Ted Washington twice a year), I hope the Bills put a high priority on upgrading the center position this offseason.
  12. Alvin Bowen will be nothing more than a special teamer colin, he's smaller than Ellison.
  13. It would be nice to "rebuild" the left side of our front 7 with a new LE and LOLB this offseason.
  14. Ellis is weak. He only boasted a 350 lb. bench at Va Tech which is pretty poor for a 260 pound DE. By the time he gets strong enough, he'll be set to become a free agent. DE needs to be 1a or 1b priority along with center this offseason, followed closely by LB.
  15. The thing is there are quite a few positions you don't wanna wait 3 rounds to upgrade on this team. LB, DE, C, DT, TE, RG....even FS. We need 3 quality free agent signings at these positions so we don't have to depend on the draft too heavily.
  16. George Wilson will start at SS.
  17. I've been crying for a TE for so long I've pretty much given up on that dream. Hopefully we DO take a center within the first 2 or 3 rounds......
  18. Oline and pass rush, BY FAR.............
  19. I was thinking that too Bill (drafting a G) but I just don't know how high we'll be able to afford to with so many needs. I don't see any quality DT's in the draft so I'd add a DT and LB in free agency, and draftwise go DE, C, TE, and G. I'm praying a day 1 guard falls to that pick. I'd love to move Dockery to the right side, but with so many needs, that's the best plan for one offseason IMO.
  20. I hate the BS Bills had the "highest rushing average behind RG" quote. That grading system is horsesh** because Butler (if you watch him with your own two eyes) does not get any push whatsoever!!! RG is a totally need position heading into next year AS USUAL..........
  21. I agree with so much of this thread that I have absolutely nothing to add, except a big thumbs up! I like Whitner, but would of loved Ngata.
  22. I think we can squeez out a win but I don't see any deep strikes to Evans. Belecheat will have double coverage on him ALL day, no matter the situation.
  23. Seattle was just ONE game people. Chambers is a backup for a good reason, he isn't very good. As for Butler playing center, STOP SNIFFING GLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!! God I hope we draft a couple interior Olinemen within the first 4 rounds........
  24. Thank God for beer and Mary Jane. Seriously.
