I absolutely believe that is the projected line for next year Jayballer10, along with a first day pick at tackle to compete with Bell or move inside for Butler. Never liked Butler at guard really......

Maybin at LB would be awesome !
JStranger76 replied to Speedy G's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although I wouldn't mind Maybin lining up at LB in certain situations, I agree with N.Y. Orangeman that his skills would be a total waste in the Bills system on a full time basis. As for being a Merriman type guy, Maybin possesses nowhere near that kind of size or power. I would say 3 full offseason strength and conditioning programs, and probably a little juice too. Jason Taylor would be a player who we could hope Maybin would resemble. -
Dick jauron's phallic O-line...

I believe McKinney will back up the 3 interior positions along with Chambers as a T/G. -
Exactly Flbillsfan#1. Maybin has huge upside being barely 21. I for one hope he puts weight on the right way and grows into his body naturally. When Freeny came out, he was already 24 years old and had time to become a muscular 268 lbs at only 6'1. His unreal 40 and reported 470 lb bench press is what got him drafted at 11 despite his lack of height, which turned out he knew how to use to his advantage to make him even more effective. Hopefully Maybin gets his ass in here and slowly grows into a Terrell Suggs type role, which IMO best suits him. Move him around for a while until he becomes strong enough to keep him at one position.

Bell Starting at RT Tonight
JStranger76 replied to ThereIsNoDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The main reason for this is because Chambers has been working at G during this training camp, which IMO is a bad idea anyways. Now that the rookies have nailed down the starting spots at G, I'd like to see Chambers moved back out to tackle and have McKinney as the swing guard. -
Demetrius Bell makes impact on writer.....

Maybe by game 4 or 5 NEXT year, but probably a career backup people. I know it would be nice to have lightning in a bottle strike twice with Peters and now Bell, but DB isn't quite the athlete Peters is and has nowhere near Peters explosive power. It's not something that hard work in the weight room can solve like many here want to believe either. A first day OT will be selected in the next draft along with OLB and possibly a young DT prospect as well. Stroud ain't no spring chicken........ -
For those of you who say we don't need a Free Safety
JStranger76 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not doubting you SDS, but are you sure that's an accurate 40 time for Ed Reed? He sure plays a lot faster than that! -
Casey, Ingram and Nelson are the only worthy picks left IMO. 20 more picks, keep your fingers crossed............

Round 2, Pick 42: JAIRUS BYRD, CB, Oregon
JStranger76 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ihate this pick more than my ex wife. Horrible pick!!!!!! -
I'm nervous about the pick but I love all the dumbasses who are screaming OMG a 250 lb. DE!?!?!? In 4-3 defenses, they are all playing under or at that weight people!!! He's 6 lbs heavier than Schobel people and after a dissapointing original 40, he got his time back down anyways. Plus, I could care less how long it takes him to run 40 yards I'm worried how long it takes him to get to the QB, which is what we need him to do THIS year. I'm nervous about the pick but excited about the potential.

At the Sheppard AFB library. I'm in Tech school right now for the Air Force. I'm hoping for Oher or Everrett Brown with Cushing as a pick I would settle for.

I personally don't want Bell anywhere near the starting lineup at any position. Even with him being athletic, the bigger 3-4 ends will walk him into Edwards on a regular basis. As for playing guard!?!?!?!?! Someone please explain how a guy who only managed 9 reps is gonna get ANY push in the run game!!!!! Just say no to Bell.

How will the oline look opening day
JStranger76 replied to mike6683's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bell isn't strong enough to play RT or either G position, and probably still needs another year of strength training to even play LT. I really don't want him mentioned as starting anywhere really. -
Brown is heavier than Schobel Stelly and he plays the run well. I think it's just a willingness to learn the pro techniques against the run and pass which I think Brown has the desire and intellegence to do.
-
I can't speak for others but I could care less about his height. I'm fine with his as a situational pass rusher this year and eventually taking over one of the DE spots in the near future. I think long arms are more important than height Dean but if you can get it done without either I'll take technique and production.
-
Although I'm nervous about the pro potential of FSU DE's, Brown is much stronger than Eric Flowers coming out of college as well as a better athlete without having to put on 25 lbs. to climb up draft boards. Brown should stay right where he is at weight wise and should we luck out and be able to pick him, have him line up at LDE on passing situations this first year.
-
I agree. I just don't think Bell will ever have the pure power to play guard in this league. No push at all in the run game. He'll look good on pulls because of his athleticism, but he's a backup swing tackle at best IMO.

Interesting 1 Round Mock Draft......
JStranger76 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only OT in this draft who IMO has more potential upside than Peters is the Alabama tackle Andre Smith. He already weighs as much as Peters and all of the other OT's would have to gain a lot of weight to be able to match Peters power, but would lose mobility. Peters never had to worry about weight and athletic abilty. He always had the "total package" when it came to those two traits. -
Julius Peppers wants out
JStranger76 replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Jets should go back to the 4-3 personally. I think the reason Gholston didn't see the field this year was because he had never played LB before. Some guys just aren't a good fit even though they have been labled as "tweeners". Jenkins is another guy who fits the 4-3 better IMO. Oh well, who cares. Whatever makes the Jets more ineffective is fine with me. As for Peppers, honestly, as much of a freak the guy is athleticly, he gets shut down when the game gets physical, I wouldn't get into a bidding war for the guy. -
Pass rusher tries out with Bills
JStranger76 replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
241-255 is the size of regular DE's these days. -
Pettigrew is a 3 inch taller and slightly faster version of Daniel Grahm sp? with better hands. I believe DG went at pick 23 so I could see Pettigrew going a little higher but not #11.
