I do want to sincerely THANK Jauron and crew...

Someone sooner or later will slam you on your "our own Darrell Revis in McKelvin" but your right. Except not being quite as big, McKelvin has just as much if not more athletic ability than Revis. Remember, Revis was getting "turned around, caught outta position, etc." quite a bit in his first couple seasons too. All the sudden the guy gains some expirience and the Jets develope a PASS RUSH and boom, it's a total disgusting manwhore lovefest for Revis from the announcers everytime the Jets are on TV. Maybe Revis will soon want Clements money and he can go to San Fran too.... -
We may have to go for one of the oldies then (at NT) and draft his successor........
-
Keep an eye on these 4 names in free agency: Aubrayo Franklin, Vince Wilfork, Casey Hampton and Jamal Williams(could be cut and signed as a stop gap). Then target Cody and Dan Williams in the 2nd round for the 2nd wave.
-
Agree with you so far except Schobel at RE still, Stroud at LE with Johnson spelling them. Unsure about Williams as well. Maybe he could be the 2nd wave NT but I'm really not too sure....

New Defensive Coordinator - George Edwards

Also now keep an eye on Sergio Kindle in the draft as an OLB......... -

Well then, there should be some NT's available, the Bills better land one of em' and like I said earlier target Dan Williams and Terrence Cody in the draft to spell that guy. Not sure if Kyle Williams fits at NT or not. I wonder where he'll fit? I'd say Stroud and Johnson as the ends, Paul P and Mitchell as the ILB's. -

Hopefully if a switch to the 3-4 is in the cards the Bills have a solid plan for free agency. Don't do it just cause it's the cool thing to do. I hate that. -

How old is Porter? Maybe a mentor for Maybin? One on each side. Wilfork, Franklin, Jamal Williams and Hampton could all be on the market for NT as well. The Bills could then target Dan Williams or Terrence Cody to spell one of them in the 2nd or a trade up into the late 1st round..........ooooooh yeah brothers......and sisters too!!!! -
Um, Peters was a 328 lb TE and actually got down to 315, but when he realized OT was his future, he upped his weight to 340. Then he turned into a d**k.
-
To add a little on the Butler subject, he is pretty solid, when he's on the field. I would like to see Merideth and Bell focus on a lot of powerlifting and make the RT position a nasty 3 man war in training camp. LT has to be somehow solved in free agency or early in the draft, end of story.
-
Right on LynchTrain. It's like he feels himself getting slapped in the face as he posts! Hey, even though the guy has gotten pretty outta hand in the past at least he is trying to figure out a way to build the Bills line into something good. It's something 99% of us know needs to get done one way or the other. We'll just put him in that "other" category.
-
When 22 guys end up on IR, people have a right to criticize. Now, I don't know anything about the guy but I am VERY sceptical bringing in a college guy with no pro expirience. I hope he's good because I'm equally concered about finding a good DC as well as a good strength and conditioning coach........
-
Me too. I would be thrilled if Jamal Brown or even Matt Light became available and we somehow landed one of em'. However, I would probably go impact defensive player #9 unless Bradford or Clausen miraculously fall. They won't.
-
All I know is I was never a part of the "let's move Iupati to LT (or even RT)" crowd. As for moving him to DT, sure he could probably excel there eventually, but spending a mid first round pick on a guy who probably would basically have a redshirt NFL rookie season is not something most teams would do. Wait, this is a Buffalo Bills forum!!!!! Seriously though, I'm hoping the new regime doesn't resort to the same old crap and drafts solid players who have done it before and not guys who "could be"..........
-
The Saints would have #13 overall pick Jamal Brown starting at LT if he wasn't injured, and the Colts 2nd round pick Tony Ugoh if he would get his head on straight. Both teams have the rare QB that can mask a not so great offensive line as well. They have both used pretty high picks at LT, even though both QB are so good at reading a defense it almost doesn't matter. Still, it's not like either team was trying to get lucky with a lower round pick at a very important position. Not trying to say we do or don't have to pick a LT at #9, just saying that pretty much every team knows the importance of the LT position.
-
As long as he brings an aggressive, attacking approach I'm cool with it. I mean think about it, has a team ever won a championship with their defense being associated with "bend don't break" "read and react" or "CB's constantly giving a 10 yard cushion"??? Hell no!!! Those approaches just let you die slowly instead of instantly, which is why I really don't want Cottrell back either, except as an assistant not the guy calling the shots.
-
Yeah, wait for a franchise QB next year and watch him go 10-15 picks ahead of the Bills draft slot. We're always not quite bad enough and miss out. The only hope is some teams overthink Bradford or Clausen and we jump on it. As mentioned in other threads Troy Smith could be an option instead of waiting for a miracle.........

Seymore, Kampman, Franklin, and Pickett are DL we should target. -

We will only fill cracks (if anything) not holes in free agency. The sad thing is, we are already WAY under the cap, and if Schobel retires, that's even another 7M you can add to that. BOO this front office should we stand pat in free agency!!!!! -
......instead we picked Trentative Edwards. Unfortunately we've seen that scenario played out way too much these days my man. Whitner vs. Ngata, McKelvin vs. Clady, Lynch vs. Revis, Maybin vs. Cushing/Orakpo.........please get it right this year Nix!!!
-
Aware of him playing in Mich.... but in late season bad weather games were his passes effective cutting through the wind on an NFL level? I know he's "used" to playing in it, but can he cut it at a proffesional level? Playing in a dome I'm very interested in him, playing in Buffalo.....not so much. This is a very similar case to the Philip Rivers debate. He worked out in sunny San Diego, would he be as good playing late in the year in Buffalo?...........
-
Good question. I wonder what Baltimore is really asking for Smith. He has looked good in preseason, I just don't think that is enough to go higher than a 5th though........
-
I second PDaDdy. Thats the thing about QB searches in Buffalo. Most of us know it's not all about arm strength but in BLo it IS a little more of a factor late in the year. I think Lefeover probably has a decent NFL future, as long as it's not in the nasty northeast parts of the country.
-
Troy Smith makes the most sense. Wouldn't take much to get him and he's right at that age where you'll get a pretty good idea of whether or not he's gonna be starting material or not. I'd throw a 6th and 7th (as we have 2 of each) Baltimore's way and see what happens. Thigpen maybe, but at least both these guys have many years ahead of them should they prove themselves worthy.
-
After Bradford and clausen none of these QB's are gonna turn out any better than what we already have. QB probably just isn't in the cards this year. Don't take one just to take one.
