What Position(s) The Bills WON'T Draft For At #9
JStranger76 replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills use the #9 and Lynch for McNabb I'll shoot the entire front office and then myself..........WOW!!! -
Chris Ellis to be tried at LB
JStranger76 replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said olaffub. McClain could probably play any LB spot in the 3-4 and be an upgrade at any of them for us. I prefer QB/LT, but sure wouldn't be angry if we selected McClain. As for Maybin and Ellis, we'll see, lots of work in the pass coverage department, as well as getting stronger. Look at Steelers OLBers....very stout as well as being decent in coverage. We know Maybin is weak, and I believe coming out Ellis only had like a personal best 355 bench press. Lots of work to be done on these two cats........ -
Chris Ellis to be tried at LB
JStranger76 replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ellis ran a reported 4.56 at his pro day and was considered a better fit as a 3-4 LB coming out anyways so maybe it works out. We need to have a couple surprises to make the new D work and I hope this is one of those surprises. -
Polian calls out his OL and special teams
JStranger76 replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Colts O-line is one of their weak areas. Only Diem or an old ass Saturday would really be upgrades in B-Lo, and both of them would be very minimal upgrades. It's Manning, Clark and the recievers who all are great at reading defenses who make that offense work. They are a good pass blocking unit, but not much of a run blocking unit. Some day one draft picks on the O-line could make the Colts offense extremely devastating......too bad Uhoh didn't pan out for them, although many thought he was a reach inthe 2nd round anyways. -
Free Agency Target Jarvis Green
JStranger76 replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's pretty much what I'm hoping happens ChumChums! Where did you get that name though?! -
It is pretty boring dave, but as a parting shot on the Whitner subject I gotta say, LOVE the delusional SS depth charts (Scott, Wilson, Whitner) that have been floating around these threads of late!
-
First of all, Whitner wasn't outplayed by a rookie. The plan in drafting Byrd was to have him play free safety (where he was projected to excel as a pro) and Whitner could settle at the spot SS he was drafted to play. Second, Whitner is under contract. Now, maybe he hired Condon to help with an extension or in the event of a trade, have a new contract worked out with a new team. Either way he hired Condon to help with his next contract. If he is looking at a pay raise maybe I explore some trade options, but if he only wants just inside top 10 SS money (where he belongs), keep him and don't create an unneccessary hole. You people who want Scott or Wilson as a full season starter are a bunch of fools. If it didn't mean a step back for the Bills I almost wish you people (oh yeah, I just called you guys "you people" again) would get your wish so you could end up seeing what a bunch of jackasses "you people" are. Look, I'm sorry we didn't draft Ngata instead too, but hopefully that s**t stops this year with some real "football people" running the show.
-
If ya want a link, just check out nfldraftcountdown or greatbluenorthreport (I read it on one of em', both very reliable sites). Just another possible way Bradford (my top choice) or Clausen (I'm so so on him) could fall to the Bills. The unworthyness at QB must stop in the B-Lo. LT crazies I'm with ya but ya gotta take the franchise QB if ya can and if ya think he's gonna get killed sit him behind Brohm or a Troy Smith for a year till you get that stud LT.

Cross Pashos, Franklin, and Pickett
JStranger76 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because of the greed, owners and players alike, this could be a free agentless offseason because so many potential free agents are restricted. I want the Bills to be active, but would hate to have to pay average players (Dockery, Walker) superstar money. The draft will be big(as always), and I am also a fan of moving down if someone comes to us with a great offer (don't do it just to do it and take a s**t deal). If that happened, oh yeah, a guy like Dan Williams or top LT left is totally on my radar. -
Wow, after reading some of this, holy stupid Bills fans!!!! Yes, the guy was taken too high in the draft, but he's a 3rd stringer behind Scott/Wilson?!?!?! Trade him for a bag of football?!?!?1 Straight up for Vick?!?!?! So much for Bills fans being some of the smarter fans in the league. Nice job guys, as if there weren't enough people bashing the B-Lo.............

Brian Buluga and Terrance Cody

To answer Thoner7, Casey Hampton or Ryan Pickett teamed with Cody or Dan Williams would be great. -
I feel bad for Nix
JStranger76 replied to daveydanceswithwolves's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't forget, if the first pick is a QB, they don't have to start him right away, just work him in here and there. If the line still looks suspect let someone else take most of the pounding but make sure the line is priority #1 in year two. -

I'm on board with this thread 110%. Get some LBers and skill guys in free agency and add beef in the draft. THAT IS HOW IT'S DONE!!!! -
I don't know how much left he has either let's go bills but he is getting paid like 5 M a year and Jax drafted OT's with their first 2 picks last year. Just too much money for a backup when you are only getting 40,000 fans per game at best. Like I said before, maybe as a "just in case stopgap" if free agency and the draft don't go our way at the LT position.
-
Can rebuild with free agents and a few trades very fast
JStranger76 replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hell to the no on all three of em'. Heck, 2 of these guys will probably be retired before the season starts. -
I wouldn't mind snagging him if we plan on going another direction in the draft, but not to give Bell more time. I don't think Bell will EVER be more than a swing tackle. It could possibly give us one more year to find LT of the future if it doesn't happen this year.
-
Holy f**king unworthy looking!!! He looks like I could break him in half. I wonder if that is really him.........

What should we do witih Lynch?
JStranger76 replied to SawchukBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I voted trade him at the right price but it would have to be a scenario something like: a RB fell to the 3rd or 4th round that we just couldn't believe was still there and we then trade him for a 2nd rounder next year. Unless something like that materializes you just gotta keep the thugassed gangsta no vision whatsoever punk B word on the team for now. The trade straight up for Merriman would be cool too. Oh, here comes the "guy ain't the same without the juice" remarks. Like if he was takin it he wouldn't be doing it again by now. He's going through the year back from a knee injury off year by the way. -
Who do you want to start at QB in 2010?
JStranger76 replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe the Brohm love is due to the fact that there are so many other needs, it would be so very convienent that we already have a capable QB on the roster and all our other moves can go to other positions of need. Drafting a QB is always such a gamble and all these other free agent and even trade options suck flat out blow. And if one more dipsh*t calls for bringing in Vick I hope you get your balls cut off. The guy was never an efficient QB and was only a phenomenal athlete taking snaps behind center. That's it. Sorry, I'm just fed up with the Vick talk and it has nothing to do with any crime he commited. HE IS A LOUSY ASS QUARTERBACK!!!!! -
Bolden can be had for a possible 3rd rounder?
JStranger76 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would trade a 3rd this year and a 4th next year to seal the deal, and of course a contract extension would have to be worked out first. Unfortunately, I can't see Boldin ever wanting to come here....... -

JStranger76 replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll go on the record with my vote going to Bradford. I'm not concerned with the freak injuries and his arm not being strong enough. I believe his arm is just strong enough to play in B-Lo and his great accuracy, tight spiral (that will help offset the lack of a cannon arm), and his ability to read a defense will more than compesate for his lack of a Jamarus Russell arm (hey, how'd that one work out anyways? ). Should it be a high round rookie though, unless we get lucky and someone like Matt Light or Jamal Brown are let go to teast the open market and we jump on it, I have no problem letting the rookie start year one as the backup until a real LT is found. -
Right on PDaDdy, Jason Taylor played his entire career at 240. Both Ravens DE's played the Super Bowl between 236-238. Many other ends play well below 250. It's just a lot cooler to list them at 260-270 I guess. Too many around here are enamoured with weight and have no clue about leverage and technique. Some guy always tries to bring up Schobel having his 14.5 sack season at 265, but let me clear that up, he had already been playing at 243 when he had that 14.5 sack year.
-
Okung has been listed at 6'5 almost everywhere I've seen. Don't know where 6'8 came from. As for Williams, this is a guy I was never high on anyways. NOT LT MATERIAL!

Thanks for the refresher on Incognito my man. Still, it's encouraging that a move to center was at least planned for him so it's something to keep an eye on. It was believed before all his "issues" happened that before all was said and done he would have been the best O-line prospect to ever come out of Nebraska. As long as he can keep his head on straight I hope the Bills keep him in their plans.......
-
Beer muscles.......I don't need no stinkin' leg to play!!!!!!! How can you not pull for Wood though? I really hope he can be ready to go because I'd like to see the Bills give Incognito a chance to replace Hangartner at C. I believe that's what position earned him a first round grade befor his injury at Nebraska......
