Right on manbeast. I remember Washington having to get spelled from drives plenty, but boy was I sure happy he was on the Bills...........let even Kyle Williams spell Cody. He's scrappy enough to get it done.

Actually John, although Maybin showed up weighing 25 or so lbs. more than expected, his 40 times were very disapointing. Yes, he improved it for his pro day, but it still wasn't anything great as far a DE standards go. Maybe, maybe not the combine was the deciding factor in the Maybin selection. We can only hope it wasn't and if it was that s**t doesn't happen again.

Tebow changing his mechanics

Changing from being on both knees to just one still doesn't work for me........... -
The only good NT that even has a chance of NOT being franchised is Hampton, and even that is 50/50 at best. I know NT was probably the #1 free agent priority, but don't expect much. Now everyone is gonna be calling for "trade down and draft the NT" but that is not the way to go either. Don't trade down to get a "decent" NT when you should stay and get a very good LT or QB. We are not gonna be able to get big upgrades at every position of weakness in one offseason. Take it one position at a time and maybe we get one in round 2 or in a trade up scenario........

As much as I want it to be I just don't see the QB situation getting resolved this year. Maybe someone like Troy Smith can be brought in by trade so we can at least dump Fitz or Trent, and then make a big move next year at QB. Might as well solve the left tackle position now while we have a chance to do so. It's not a one year fix we are looking at so just do it one piece at a time..........

Right here bannanathumb. Live in East Tennessee. Good run stuffer with some instincts but no way at #9 and no way he lasts to round 2 either. Would love to have him he but don't see him in a Bills uni next season.

Right on. Bulaga will probably never go down as a legendary pass blocker like Pace or Ogden, but those guys go top 3, we're picking 9th. Also, for as mature as Bulaga is, he's only a junior! The no upside argument is pretty weak.......

Here's mine: best NT possible of course, but the best we can expect will be Hampton because of age, so be prepared to be let down and have to settle for someone like Jason Fergusen or Hollis Thomas if Hampton stays in the Berg. After that, I try and pair Ben Watson with Nelson. Watson can stretch the field and block while Nelson continues to learn to read NFL defenses and run crossing patterns and any other mismatch opportunities we can find. Next would be DE Dwan Edwards, who has 3-4 expirience and is a solid player as well. Finally, at WR, any of Walter, Bryant, or Chambers would be fine by me. No particular order here, but very realistic and effective free agency which would set up a strong draft.

Could not have said it any better Union2008. I too love McClain or Bradford but please, don't draft a OT who has a mean streak and is NFL ready right now. Let's take a chance on Anthony Davis who may not even be able to play tackle in the NFL and has motivation issues.

He's not gonna work out in Buffalo either!!!!! Please, no more mid round QB's who might be good in 8 years.

One thing I have not seen mentioned yet

Yes, the main concern with Nelson is staying healthy. My vision would be to sign Ben Watson as the down TE and shift Nelson all over the place....other side of the line....right next to Watson.....over to the slot. Ooooooh yeah!!!! It's the way of the new world man!!! -

yet another take on lynch to the chagers
JStranger76 replied to bkc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once again listen to CarolinaBill. RB and LT are two totally different stories, and the "Jauron stockpiling of DB's" thing doesn't fly either. It's not like we are using a draft pick on one. I know our secondary is good, a strength of our team if you will, but it isn't as good as many here make it out to be. Lots of tipped passes just happened to fall right to our guys hands quite a bit this past season, making a much better pass rating along with many teams running at will on us. Not one guy on the roster can be called having "lock down" skills (McKelvin may, but sure hasn't shown it yet), Cromartie, at least in pass coverage, gives us that type of guy. It's also like CarolinaBill said, McGee can move to the nickle, where he should of been playing his entire career. -

Florence ain't too bad, but he's no spring chicken neither, like McGee. Maybe you mostly play Cromartie when you know the other team will mostly be passing!... I gotta say though, CarolinaBill makes the most sense so far, even with Cromarties tackling issues......... -

Are trades allowed now or do we have to wait for March 5th? -

I agree CarolinaBill, just wish Cromartie was a little more willing tackler....... -

Lynch for Merriman. I know some dips**T will say "dude ain't the same without the roids" but his down year was due to coming back from a knee injury. If he was taking roids before, trust me, he's taking em' again, just like the other 80% of the NFL. You gotta only buy the undetectable stuff man!!!! -
What other sports teams do you follow?
JStranger76 replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live in East Tennessee so I follow the Vols pretty well, along with the rest of the SEC. What a better way than to scout talent from the best conference in college football for the Bills!!! When the Bills scouts have questions, they call me for answers!!!!!! No wonder we haven't won in 10 years!!!!! -
We Should Take this Guy in RD 6 or 7
JStranger76 replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm on board. Even if it takes him a while to get back we ain't winning s**T this year anyways and I could see this guy as a big part of our FUTURE recieving corps. I would even take him in round 5 just to be sure......... -
Change round 4 to LB and it works, even though Davis scares the crap outta me........
-
This guy is already well known by all the scouts, trust me, they know. His upside will get him drafted in the 2nd or 3rd, so if you're hoping to "steal" him late in the draft, forget about it.
-
To get either Williams or Cody we'll have to get back to around picks 25-28 to ensure we get one of em', and I have no problem with it. It's a move that could heal our pain from the McCargo screw up.
-
The only guy on the roster who I like at RT is Merideth. He did 31 reps at the combine, so his upperbody strength is already pretty good, it's his lower he needs to work on, and he ran a 4.99 40, so he can move. I believe he weighed 304 last season, so he has room to get bigger as well. In all honesty I thought he would have given Butler a run for his money at RT anyways. The only decent option in free agency would be Vernon Carey.

He's on the roster now......Jamon Merideth. -
Scott is an absolute beast?!??! Wow, it's been a long time since the bills were good. If Scott has to start at SS for longer than 2 or 3 games the secondary will take a big step back. He's good vs. the run but he has terrible range in pass coverage, although he has a decent stretch of games where he played well covering TE's.
