He has done and awesome job w the cap, we were sitting pretty to keep everyone we wanted to keep. The pandemic hits and we are still in pretty good shape compared to many others. The man has done a phenomenal job in not having us hamstrung! Future looks very bright as far as money availability goes!

Dam, figured this was coming but still saddens me to think he won’t be back. He and Cole came hear and help start the turnaround. Injuries definitely have curtailed his career! Will root for him and hope he lands somewhere beneficial to his skill set!

I think if Watt does come and w Star back I’d look for Oliver to have a huge year. They’d have to shift protection towards Watt and start would demand more attention and leave Oliver in many one on one match ups which I think he would thrive in. JMO

It does seem as though our training staff and methods are very good with preventing a lot of muscle and odd injuries that seem to have effected Watt recently, might be an added incentive on the Bills side along with a very good team and top QB. Could be an extra thing to sway him to the. Ills if he so desires and the team goes after him aggressively. JMO.

Good point. I guess I was wanting some way to keep a team together for the most part and was looking at the general highest contract and how it seems to hamstring a team. But you make a solid point in it wouldn’t take long for it to be abused or circumvented in some fashion.

I can see the owners pushing for the TV rights ASAP to get monies in now to push up the cap. Incentive on both players and owners to find a way to raise it if possible.

The next CBA should have a clause in it where your QB contract only counts half of the actual cap number against the cap. That position is so vital to have and yet it absolutely cripples a team in keep other players on it. It would allow you to keep more players and pay more of the middle tier players that make up most of the team and yet are switched out or cut when they are due for a contract raise. Sorta like the Larry Bird rule the NBA had. Just a thought

With Star back or someone w similar skill set in there that w free Oliver up to maximize his skill set and take his game to next level and keep Edmunds clean to make more plays as well. JMO
