Busts are caused by 21 year old kids getting paid millions of dollars. In the first round most of these guys get enough money to last them a life time. What incentive is there after that? Everyone is different but i attribute most of hte first round busts are caused by this problem. A NFL club isn't going to draft a guy in the first round with poor talent. Its easy to judge a guy on talent. It's hard to get inside the guys head to see if money is the only driving force. A former lineman for the Packers said it best. "If you play Football for the money it will disappoint you."

finally Stroud is in the OTA workouts!

I don't care if they are there or not. It's voluntary. I never said that being there getting team spirit doesn't help. It's also a good place for young players to get farther along to have a impact sooner. I never said it was bad. I just don't like the poor judgments that Fans and Media alike give players if they don't show. People are labeled as not caring or a Cancer to the team. Whatever fits the posters or author's mood that day. I remember Steve Fairchild state one time that he couldn't make more plays for Willis Mcgahee in the passing game because he wasn't at OTA's. I think it's a rediculus that he couldn't do such a thing and reflects on how poor of a coach he was. Besides there is a huge difference between a guy who has been in the league for 2 years and a guy who has been in the league 5+ years. People also need to understand that physically everyone is different. Ross Tucker who used to play with the bills said on Sirius that he used to room with Josh Stamer. Josh would eat pizza, and snickers bars all the time and still seem to get more ripped. Ross said he had to eat Rice and Chicken to not get fat. I have always viewed the OTA's a place for the players to work out in a controlled setting. There is someone their to help them with their eating habits and weight training. Some people just need the extra help. It's like having after school Study' Halls or meeting with teachers for some extra help. that is what the OTA's were built for. Nowadays the NFL teams have basically made them Mandatory by using this time for playbook installation, film study, position meetings etc... It's come to the point where players in contract disputes use the OTA's as a bargaining chip. The whole i will not show for OTA's if you don't extend my contract. The only reason why it became a bargaining chip is because of how MANDATORY they have become. -

It's annoying that fans and media alike get all uppity when players don't show for OTA's. It's VOLUNTARY. People automatically assume that players aren't dedicated if they don't show. A vast majority of players who make NFL teams are in shape year round. A few bad apples like the Shawn Rogers or Mike Williams of the word get blown up by fans and the media. It's players like those who make people think the OTA's is bang or bust. I think it's stupid. If veterans of the NFL don't show for OTA's i really don't care. It's their choice. If they can keep themself in shape and understand the X's and O's by the end of training camp then it's good for them. I mean common the Bills of the 90's didn't have all this crap and still won Football games. -
Maybe Kraft and Jones knew what they were doing
kota replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 years ago Ralph said that he was rushed to make a decision and because he didn't understand what was put in front of him he wasn't gonna sign it. He got ridiculed by people on this board and the media for being a senial old fool. The main reason being Ralph should follow what Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft are doing. I don't know i was always told not to vote for or sign anything you don't understand completely. Ralph was doing the same thing 2 years ago. Now that the Big Club owners are saying it's a bad deal people listen. I see people on this board who call Ralph Wilson Cheap and that he doesn't care about Western NY that he is a money grubbing owner like everyone else. As far as i can tell Ralph wants a level playing field and a organization that doesn't lose money which is why he wants the profit sharing. Lets face it if their wasn't some sort of Profit sharing to keep the Bills out of the Red the team would have moved years ago. In the end the Buffalo Bills is a company who wants to make a profit and not lose money. If people want to see the real money grubbing Owners just look at the cowboys and Patriots. I am with you that they want a uncapped year and just by their championships like the Yankees try. If the stories are true about the other clubs it looks like it could be a 16 week schedule of the Comboys vs Patriots 16 weeks in a row. -
I think it is safe to say that everyone here reads Chris Browns blog at least 5 times a day. Stop reposting his blog entries. The database for this website will thanks you. It's tired.

Mike Maycock's Top 5 At Each Position.
kota replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mike Mayock is great. he isn't wowed by big college numbers or combine stats. He looks more at technique of the player and their physical attributes. Plus he considers what they can do against NFL players who aren't rookies. You can see his top 5 RB's on NFL.com's video section. he shows that Mcfadden lacks strength in his legs to push piles and break tackles which he feels will cause him issues in the NFL. He claims that Mcfadden will get you some big plays but when it comes between the tackles he will have issues. he said the samea about Reggie Bush and well you have seen what he has done so far in the league. -
It's because Ralph voted against the latest CBA and has spoken out against the large money earners in football. It's easy to beat up on the little guy.

Your sarcasm isn't needed. I will keep looking.
-
I have been looking for some and i can't find any. Anyone have any idea?
-
Isn't that the contract numbers for Willis's contract in Baltimore?
-
Moss will get bored half way through his route. Shouldn't be a problem.
-
Real simple, I hope the Bills boot MaGahee.
kota replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys have zero idea as to what kind of person Willis is mentally. You guys are on his jock because of the negative press he has gotten. He has like 3 kids and he made one statement about Buffalo moving and you guys are in a uproar. Eric Moulds has more kids then Willis by different mothers and I bet people here still like him. Last year it was JP who sucked now it is Willis. Every friggin year people have to find someone to jump on. Willis isn't the best back but he is good. Say what you will about his mentallity or his heart. The guy played with Broken ribs, had to learn behind a new line where defenses knew which side he would run on. Willis lost 15 pounds in the offseason to be a faster running back. If he didn't have heart or want to be in the NFL he would have sat on his ass like Mike Williams. -
The eagles are not better without McNabb. It is the coaching when Mcnabb is playing that sucks. They rely to much on his arm and mobility. Westbrook is very good running back and should be getting 30 touches a game between running and receiving.
-
Michael Turner is not LT. Do you really think Michael Turner would score 31 touchdowns in a season? Do you really think Philip Rivers would be anything without LT? Teams plan for LT not Rivers so Rivers looks like a Pro Bowl QB.
-
Isn't every touchdown a big play regardless of distance? Points is points we put up 21 they put up nothing.
-
Yes jumping the gun but i think he could be a pro bowl RT eventually. His physical stats are awesome.
-
This rookie class we got is awesome something to build off of. I really think the Bills need to spend the money and keep Nate Clements and extend London Fletcher. We are way under the CAP and can spend the money for both. Get a BIG receiver and i think we are on our way. This line is shaping up as well. Pennington is a beast like Peters.
-
People would rather spend their money on tickets to see a winning team that is what 22-5 compared to a team who probably won't make the playoffs. I don't know if Buffalo can support 2 winning sports franchises. Not being in the playoffs since 1999 doesn't help either.

Back on board the Jp bandwagon!

JP doesn't need your wishy washy support. He has enough true fans on his side. Please go route for Raider or something. -
One reason why I think Losman will be good
kota replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well i counted at least 4 drops today so.... -
He has like 5 tackles and is the starting SS. Donte Whitner has 15 tackles and a pick. I wonder who the stretch was.
-
That's right folks we are going to dominate them. I can feel it. Dante Culpepper is weak and still looks like the guy from early last year. 3 INT's this week. My guess will be Ko Simpson, Mcgee, and Clements. I also expect JP Losman to have a good game 2 TD's and like 250 yards passing. Every week i see improvement on this team. It started in preseason and last week they showed improvement in a loss. LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO.

Whitner is the same size as Troy Polomolu from the Steelers.
