Story. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8194...ching-assistant Lane Kiffin is a joke of a human being. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when it came to the raiders but after leaving the Vols 1 season in to join USC you realize he is a backstabber.

Dude it's better at every position. We have new coaches. Coaching makes a team not the players.

He's a great WR if you like the kind that can't run routes and doesn't practice hard.

The Buffalo News: Chan Gailey the Fundamentalist
kota replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait what you have to work on Fundamentals like tackling and getting hit? When did Jauron leave? -
Actually i don't get it. I don't understand everyone's facination with Addition by subtraction. Trading Donte Whitner the Bills starting SS for a backup QB doesn't make any sense. I really don't care for your personal feelings on Whitner. He is the starting SS. He was the starter under Jauron and is the starter under Gailey. Lets just say Whitner actually does suck and that the last two coaching staffs don't know squat. If the current coaches don't know squat what are they going to do with the franchise QB Troy Smith? Nothing. I also don't understand how you can make the assumption that Troy Smith is better than anything on the current roster? he's played in two NFL games. His college highlights don't mean squat at this point. Troy is 6 feet tall with questionable arm strength and accuracy but yet you want him in Buffalo Wind and snow. Yes Troy's college highlight reel is somewhat impressive but he alot of his plays are on the ground running the option. There are plenty of teams of that need a QB but yet they all skipped over Troy Smith. I wonder why that is. Congrats on 6 pages.

I don't think his mom is a hooker.

you know that you are right? So you know more than the entire Ravens Staff? They drafted Flacco with Smith on the roster. Sorry Smith isn't more than a backup. The Bills could be filled with a team of backups. What's one more am i right?

Some moron threw a stick at it and it charged duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Reminds me of the time i was at Sequoia National Park here in California. A black bear was close to the road so people were stopping and taking pictures. I stopped and got out and there was this woman who was so scared she was shaking. I asked her what happened and she said that the Bear chased her. I asked why and he she said she tried to get closer to take a picture and the Bear charged her. I was like did you notice the baby she has near her? She said yeah. I said well if you managed to get between bear and it's young you would be dead right now. People are stupid. Just because you can get close at the zoo doesn't mean you can do the same in the wild.

he's got some chops. He has the size to go over the middle and is willing to do it. Hope he makes the team as well.

Gailey may not necessarily use a RB committee?
kota replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I personally don't like the Running Back by Committee approach. Switching backs all the time doesn't do anything for consistancy or rythme with the oline. I believe lynch will be starting by game one. Spiller will be a returner, 3rd down specialist and situational player. Jackson will be riding the pine. If this wasn't the case Lynch would have been traded. Lynch got away with murder under Jauron. Chan didn't put up with his attitude. Lynch eventually came in to OTA's and didn't sit out mini camp. Lynch needed some tough love and got it. I expect him to return to form. who knows he could be a 1300 yard back this year. -
Jeff Garcia is not any better than the QB's we have on the roster. Fritz has accuracy problems.

Are you serious? At home Jordan might not be a saint but when it came to sports there are none better. That guy owned so many people. Shave 20 years off his legs and he would school Lebron. Jordan was never a sellout. He wanted to be the best so he beat the best. End of story. I watched his HOF speech. He wasn't humble in it but he shouldn't be. It was his day.

It's my understanding with rookie contracts it's all pretty much slotted. They end up debating length of contract, how much he gets per year, and guaranteed money amount. The player will want more guaranteed money and most of his money in the first few years of the contract. The organization will try to do the opposite. there is no way Troup gets wilfork or jenkins money.

What player does C.J. Spiller most resemble?
kota replied to Hossage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was compared to Faulk. Today's players he is like Chris Johnson. -
Oops i found a schedule. Looks like there is a wednesday practice during the day that i could go to. anyone have any idea's if i need tickets for that? What time i should show up? Etc...
-
Anyone know when the training camp schedule will be released? I want to go and check it out for the first time in years. Last time i went was when Kelly played and they practiced at Fredonia. I think it was standing room by the fence only back then LOL.

Once again we didn't play what we practiced

i am encouraged by the statements guys like Whitner are making. Last year all we heard about from the players is how much they loved Jauron's coaching staff. I believe they actually felt that way. Now they have a coach that is tougher on them and showing them another side of NFL football. I think they are slowly learning how piss poor Jauron's plan was. Maybe it is just blind optimism but i feel the Bills have a real plan going into the season. Something that hasn't been in Buffalo for at least 3 years and possibley more. -
Whatever. Nothing new for first rounders taken in the top 10 picks. Nobody wants to be the first to sign. Spiller will try and wait for the guy before him and after him gets signed. This is the same attitude every other first round rookie has. In a perfect world all the players would take their slotted money. Not gonna happen without a Rookie salary cap.

Money isn't the problem with Buffalo. I have never though Ralph wilson is cheap. Greggo, Mike Mularky, etc... were all considered to be good head coach candidates. Getting a coordinator to become your head coach isn't exactly a new theory. The #1 problem with Buffalo is drafting and the people who make decisions for it. That's it problem solved. It's no secret that the bills have drafted poorly for the last decade or so.

Look out an internet tough guy is on the prowl.

Fitz sucks.
-
Prediction!!!! Troy Smith stays with Ravens.

If a starter emerges that is pro bowl caliber than we are good for the future. then it's up to management to continue to draft play makers to help support that QB. The Offense needs a play maker or two every year through FA or the draft. Stock the Offensive Line with late round picks and fill in defense as needed. Chan and Buddy need a year at least to figure out what they have on the roster especially at the QB, Oline, and WR positions. If Hardy, Johnson, or Easley emerge as a solid 2nd receiver i think they are set there. I am not in love with their RT at all. LT is another story. I have hope that Bell or Meredith emerge. A center might be nice or another guard if Wood moves over.

interesting stat about last years team
kota replied to Bob Goulet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's an observation on my part. Walking off the field or walking into a huddle. Hands on knees etc.... Langston Walker was let go because he couldn't keep up with the no huddle offense. You can add in the injury problem. When you get tired your muscles tire out as well. Since the musceles in your limbs are a major part of it's protection people get injuried. There were also alot of games last year where RB's put up an insane amount of yards against the defense especially in the 2nd half. This is due to the defense running out of gas and getting pushed around. Most of the big running plays against the bills were right up the middle. It's my opinion that you get big strong DLineman at the point of attack with strong physical LB's filling the gaps. by doing this you force the RB's to the outside where a big play is less likely to occur. You then also force a RB into the arms of a DB who may have the speed to match a RB. Offensive coordinators love to try to exploit the middle of the field. The defense was also way to small last year. i have never been a fan of the small quick players. I don't like seeing LB's getting stood up by RB's. The bills also had a alot of players switch positions because their body size didn't translate to their college Position in the NFL.
