Yes, an anvil fell on all of our heads yesterday.
I'm not going to be like all the other fans with knee jerk reactions and say what a horrible coach McDermott is, and how Brandon Beane has done nothing to help the team. I admit I was just as shocked and disgusted with yesterday's game like everyone else. I knew it would be a tough season, but I was not expecting our offense to not get a first down in the first half of the game either.
As far as the offense goes it's both the QB & the O-Line. Nate Peterman is not a starting QB in the NFL, I have been stressing this since we drafted him. I hated the pick, even though it was a 5th round choice. I don't wish him ill will, and I was willing to be fair and give him a chance, but I've seen enough. Peterman at best is a back-up, and I might be generous with that statement.
Josh Allen must become the starter now. I saw enough of him yesterday to accept that. Although I am terrified that he could go through the same problems as David Carr did. This O-Line could get him killed.
Speaking of the O-Line, it is a disaster, and it's all on the interior. John Miller just doesn't have it, Vlad Ducasse has never had it, and Ryan Groy is NOT a Center. The Ravens did not have to blitz in order to get pressure on the QB. And every time we ran the ball, especially on the left side, there was nothing. These 3 spots on the line have to be changed immediately. Dion Dawkins has very good potential and Jordan Mills is adequate enough to get through the season. That's it.
As for McDermott & Beane, calm down. They made mistakes, let them work it out, because I believe they will. I don't want to hear about Tyrod Taylor or Ryan Fitzpatrick, or even AJ McCarron. We need to deal with what we have now. So let's see what our next move is.
GO BILLS!!!
