2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Mark Vader replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
I like the first three picks, and getting players like Myles Gaskin, Jalen Jelks & Hunter Renfrow in the later rounds is all good. However, if the Bills end up with the #2 overall pick, then they should definitely look into trading down. The first round is rich with Defensive Line talent, and there could be a quarterback someone might really want. Jonah Williams is a great prospect, but I think he would last past the 2nd overall pick. I know I'm dreaming, but i would love to draft LB Chase Winovich. He could replace Lorax and I'm sure he would be a Process guy. -
Anyone think that the Astros can repeat? Could we have an Astros-Dodgers rematch?

Heartbreak for the Cubs. Congrats to the Rockies as they head to Milwaukee.

Who hates the 10 minute OT?

The best way to have Overtime is this... Play it like a regular quarter, 15:00 of game time. Each team gets one possession. If neither team scores after one possession then it becomes sudden death. If both teams score after each possession and the game is still tied it becomes sudden death. Very simple. Also, ties don't bother me. They don't happen as often as they used to and they add a certain element to playoff tiebreakers. -
The MLB playoffs start today. Although I guess you could say they started yesterday with the NL Central & NL West Division deciding games. So is a Red Sox-Brewers World Series inevitable or will we have two other teams playing for it all? Got any predictions or anyone you're cheering for? Play Ball!

I forget who the Death Metal fans are here, but a fellow Bills friend shared this video, so I have to ask, are these two young ladies talented, or is it a joke to you?

Someone needs to be fired over Mahomes right now.

Here is Astro's latest Mock Draft... http://billsmafia.com/2018/10/01/astros-bills-mock-draft-october/ -
He was hurt early in the game, but he came back and we saw how he looked. That was a real lick he gave to Rodgers. Did Rodgers try to trip him up after he walked away from that sack? I've been very impressed with Taron Johnson's play so far. He's a fiery player. I think he's made enough of an impression on Bills fans where he won't be remembered for just this...

Have a question (couldn’t watch the game)
Mark Vader replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think your analysis is spot on. We passed the ball too much yesterday. As soon as the Bills were losing it felt like the team panicked and abandoned the running game. There were a couple of moments when the Bills had some decent running plays up the middle, but they never attempted to do that on a consistent basis. Josh Allen had a very rough day. The O-Line did a poor job of protecting him and when they did the receivers were either not getting separation or they would drop the ball. In the first quarter Allen made some strange passes that weren't even close. I don't know if he was getting rid of the ball or just had to get rid of it from pressure. I think the inaccuracy issue is being blown out of proportion. Allen was spot on with quite a few passes, the problem was that the receivers were in tight coverage so they couldn't make the catch and there were a couple of drops as well. The deep ball that Allen threw was overthrown and probably for the good because Robert Foster was double covered on that play. -
Hello From A Titans Fan -- Titans Come to Town

All semi-joking aside... I did catch some of yesterday's game against the Eagles and the Titans did a good job in coming back. Titans defense looks quite good, and constantly harassed Carson Wentz. What was surprising was how many dropped balls there were from both teams. I saw the bomb that Mariota threw in overtime and the receiver, can't remember his name, had it in his hands and lost it. I think this game will not be very appealing to most NFL crowds. The media isn't exactly fawning over the Titans, and they are constantly laughing at the Bills. In fact this game could be quite ugly with very few offensive highlights. Enjoy your time here on the board. Also, I am looking forward to going to Nashville for next year's NFL Draft. I've never been there so it should be an experience. Are the fans excited to be hosting the draft next year? -

It could be worse; Frank Reich could be the Bills coach

Yep, this is the TBD we all know and love. By the way, does anyone think the Eagles miss Frank Reich? -
Probably both

Should ties be eliminated in all sports?
Mark Vader replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no problem with games ending in a tie. I wish the NHL would bring them back, I hate games being decided in a shoot out. Tie games do not ruin the NFL experience. Also, this is not the NFL of the 1920's through 1950's when ties were very common. The overtime period works out good and most of the time there is a winner. -

Vrabel gets the benefit of the doubt because he's a former Cheater. -
I didn't really know what to expect these first four games. I am shocked at how many points we gave up in the first two games, but thankfully the defense has gotten better since then. It's obvious that the defense is the strength of the team, and they will get better. Tremaine Edmunds is progressing steadily and Taron Johnson has been solid as the nickel back. Star Lotuleilei probably got more money than he deserved, but I don't think he has been as big a liability as others have said. Trent Murphy is doing alright, but I think he will make plays. Lorenzo Alexander has played much better than I thought he would and Matt Milano has been all over the field and has become one of our better players. Then of course there is Jerry Hughes, who is still our best DE and gives his all on the field. The secondary has taken a step back from last year. Micah Hyde & Jordan Poyer got off to slow starts, but are doing better. Tre'Davious White has played great. Then there's the spot at Right Corner Back. Vontae Davis dumped on us all and retired leaving a huge hole to fill. Phillip Gaines is average and Ryan Lewis has potential but is inexperienced. Despite the rough start, the defense has rebounded and done all it can to to keep the Bills in the games this season. Now the offense, and here is where it gets ugly. I know I am stating the obvious, but our WR group & our O-Line is a mess. I really thought that Kelvin Benjamin would be a good player for us, but that is not the case. He's a big target and that's it, and he is not reliable. Sadly, he is the best we have. Zay Jones has done nothing to stand out, Andre Holmes is a glorified special teams player and Robert Foster & Ray Ray McCloud are rookies. It is not easy to watch. Now the offensive line. Ryan Groy is not a Center. We saw that in the first game. Matthew Bodine isn't much better, but he's better than Groy. I was hoping for a rebound season for John Miller and those hopes have been shattered. Vladimir Ducasse is still the same player, as is Jordan Mills. Dion Dawkins is having a rough second year, but is the only bright spot. The line has done a fair job in pass protection, but they have been putrid in run blocking. None of our running backs can get any space. Our line is pitiful when they get blitzed. The Tight End situation is adequate, but I still don't know why Nick O'Leary was the expendable player. Charles Clay is fine and Jason Croom looks like a natural, but Logan Thomas & Khari Lee are not really there. Running back is a bright spot. LeSean McCoy is still our best player, and Chris Ivory has been a pleasant surprise. Marcus Murphy has done well too. Finally there is Josh Allen. I did not want to see him thrown to the wolves like this, but we were put in this position. Honestly, Josh Allen looks like a rookie. He has his ups and downs. I admire his tenacity and his willingness to keep a drive going and trying to fit passes into tight windows, but he does things that also results in bad outcomes. He's a rookie and he has a daredevil mentality, which is something that he will have to reign in, if he wants to survive out there. I really like Allen, the potential is there, even though he's been put in a bad spot. I think that Allen will be able to succeed as he plays more throughout the season. He's a competitor and he has a swagger and he looks like a leader out there. We haven't seen this type of quarterback on the Bills for a long time. He has the ability to become something special for the Bills, now it's the coaches job to make sure that he doesn't get killed behind this line, and to get him better weapons at wideout. To sum up, we are 1-3. Nobody expected us to get blasted the way we did in Baltimore and nobody saw us taking the Vikings to the woodshed. The Bills are a strange team to figure out. Clearly there are rebuilding and they do have some very good players on the team, but they also have some very pedestrian players too. I'm not going to dump on McDermott & Beane and call for their heads, because that's just silly. I do believe in the process, even when it is ugly. The Bills are building a foundation. Unfortunately we have to wait for next offseason to see where it will take us. For now we just have to watch this season play out.
