Sure there are no guarantees. I am most interested in seeing how he progresses in the league, and I would love to see him in a Bills uniform.
-
I can understand that. I think he can excel as a slot receiver.
-
That could happen, and I like your suggestion of trading two 2nd rounders for him. Although the Jaguars will exhaust their search for that elusive first round pick from another team. Beane is going to have to put that wizard hat on and summon as many powers from Elysium, Nirvana & The Happy Hunting Grounds as he can.

I agree. Which is why I think the Bills don't have that good of a chance of getting Ngakoue, because we don't have a first round pick to trade.
-
I wonder if he would feel that way if he were sent to Cleveland or Detroit?

Buffalo Bills worst draft choices.
Mark Vader replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem was that Lynch was one strike away from being suspended for a year. The Bills were in a corner with him and had to find a way out, and that was by drafting Spiller. I hated that we got next to nothing for Lynch, but he's the one who caused it all. -
James Proche, WR, Southern Methodist. I think this guy has very good potential to be a great slot receiver in the NFL. He had back-to-back 1000 yard receiving seasons his junior and senior years, with over 200 receptions combined in those seasons respectively. He also is very good at fighting off defenders. More football speed than track speed, and the guy is an extremely reliable target. Older rookie(24), but that could be an advantage. I could easily see him as a future replacement for Beasley. Most project him going 6th-7th round, I could see him going 4th-5th round. Khaleke Hudson, S, Michigan. Good tackling Safety/Linebacker hybrid that McDermott loves. Had a better junior year than senior year. Covers the field well, and is a good pass rusher. Projections have him from 6th round-UDFA. I could easily see McDermott getting the best from a player like him.

Because Beasley & Brown are in their 30's and only signed for 2 more seasons. This is a rich WR class, and we should take advantage of that, so that we can get the best product on the field. The Bills can have better players than Foster, Williams, McKenzie & Roberts, who could step in and eventually replace Beasley & Brown.

Why do we need a WR in the draft?
Mark Vader replied to MrSarcasm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we need more WR's for two reasons. A. Brown & Beasley are now in their 30's and are only signed for 2 more seasons. Have to think about the future. B. We can upgrade over players like Foster, Williams, McKenzie & Roberts. This WR class is deep and we should take whomever we can get so that we can get better and better. I'm not saying we should take a WR with our 2nd round pick, unless there is someone we cannot pass up. If Denzel Mims, Michael Pittman, or Donovan Peoples-Jones are there at 54. WE should seriously consider taking one of them. I think 3rd round is more realistic as to where we take a WR, and I would even grab a WR in the 5th or 6th round as well. Big picture. We need to take advantage of a strong receiver class that could help us in the future. -
So you would be glad if the Bills drafted him?
-
Yes, he is a gamer. Don't know why he didn't run at the combine. Here he is in last year's big game against Memphis.

Revisiting the pretty bad 2015 draft class

The best thing about that draft was watching Jim Kelly walk out on stage to announce the pick. -
Thielen bummed out about Diggs trade

Exactly, if he's that bummed, we'll be glad to cheer him up. -
2020 Draft, biggest bust potential

Either way, welcome back! -
Of course that's if the Bills use all of their draft picks, but I wouldn't be surprised if Beane at some point attempts to trade up for another 3rd or 4th round pick. Even if they did use all of their picks, that is a lot of UDFA's to sign. I don't think Beane is quite finished yet with free agency. Let's wait and see.

That's my concern with him too. He had a ridiculous year, but it was just one year. I would have him hold a clipboard for his first season. -

Mekhi Becton. Big guy with potential, but I don't put him in the same class as Tristan Wirfs. -
From what I have read he's a Day 3 pick. 5th or 6th round. Which is not surprising, his future in the NFL is as a slot receiver. I watched a few Southern Methodist games, and I became a fan of his and I think he would be a very good addition for us. Potentially a replacement for Beasley. He's not the fastest receiver, but he catches nearly everything.
