  1. Not exactly. Most times teams have an idea where they want their players to play beforehand. Just because McCargo felt he could play all of the positions doesn't mean the coaches agreed with him. And it's all a coaching staff can do to prepare a rookie for ONE position and its responsibilities, much less 2.
  2. Mularkey ran himself out of town with his garbage play-calling. That 2nd Miami game was an embarrassment for a high school coach, much less and NFL coach. I mean, calling EIGHT passing plays in the 4th quarter when you're up by 20 points?
  3. All 4 could probably play both positions. The Bills however wanted Tripplett and Anderson to start, because they're vets, and McCargo and Williams to backup. McCargo was placed behind Tripplett because that's where they wanted him to play, and Williams was placed behind Anderson.
  4. Gee, after 50 posts of saying the same lame thing over and over, do you REALLY think the Bills will be bad? Worse than last year?
  5. Yep, looks like Bruschi, Warren, and Maroney will miss the game, with the first 2 not having practiced in over a week, and with Maroney practicing yesterday but wearing a brace and limping. Moreover Maroney's unproven, despite all the hype he got in the pre-season. The Bills need to take advantage of this.
  6. How could they? To go from a 7th round longshot to making the 53-man roster and drawing an NFL-sized paycheck is pretty exciting no matter HOW much game-time play you get.
  7. Thurman was the better player. But there is NO denying that he had a MUCH better OL, QB, OC, TE's, even WR's, i.e. offense in general, than Willis has had. And last year in terms of yards, Willis had the 5th best output of any RB since the 16-game schedule went into effect, and the 9th best output in Bills' history, since OJ outrushed him (in 14 games) 3 times.
  8. Who DIDN'T quit on the Bills last year?
  9. Apparently the Chargers aren't taking Foley's side because they put him on the non-football injury list, meaning he don't get paid this year. :woot:
  10. Yeah, Reed is #2 WR, Kelsay is starting LDE, and Bowen is starting SS.
  11. You can say that Parrish, Everett, and Preston are pushing for starts, considering Parrish if the 3rd WR would be a starting player of sorts, and Everett is the 2nd TE in 2 TE sets.
  12. Cool. Hopefully Denney starts over Kelsay. There needs to be a change from the DL of last year.
  13. It was a fluke and the lousiest luck you'll ever see. He was stabbed in the heart by the barb and his first instinct was to pull it out, which is what killed him. Had he kept it in, he probably could have survived. But here's the rub; with a thrashing stingray still attached to your chest, the ONLY thing he could have done was cut off the barb, because otherwise the stingray would have pulled it out anyway. Man.
  14. Unless he gets injured during the moving process.
  15. It's one thing to make predictions on the future. It's quite another to keep offering-forth an outdated opinion.
  16. Favorite: Who is favored to win the game. Point spread: The favored team is expected to win the game by the (minus) number. Total: Total number of points scored by both teams. Total money line: For every $1.10 you bet and win, you get $1 back.
  17. As you said, it's from having depth at certain areas. Most of us knew that at least 1 of the WR cuts was going to make a roster somewhere, likely with the Pats, and that Nance was likely to end up on someone's PS at worst. What I did NOT envision happening was both Baker and King getting cut.
  18. Maybe true, but reports were that he was limping and had a brace on his knee. I didn't figure Childress would get any takers anyway. IIRC he'd have to have been added to a team's 53-man roster if claimed on waivers.

  20. Peter King is becoming as irrelevant in the internet age as his magazine SI HAS become (and that includes the swimsuit issue). About all these "experts" are good for anyway is reporting on stuff, and when they can't even get THAT right, you know their time has passed.
  21. Shoulda known better than to trust the Extra Suspicious rePorting Network after all the "Sherman to be Bills next head coach" crap, among other things. And while it looks like he won't miss the game, I still think Maroney was/is injured and won't see a lot of playing time against the Bills. You don't just miss a week of practice and a pre-season game for no reason when you're a rookie. And it sounds like Jonathan Smith is playing WR for the Pats as well as he did for the Bills.
  22. Probably. With TD spooning him.
  23. Better watch out! I hear it's 6 months in jail.
  24. It's coming from King's pants.
