  1. Why was Haggan in there?
  2. I don't buy they hype that the Pats have "several good TE's." They have Graham, who is a blocker, Watson who is the potential game-breaker but who hasn't proven that yet, and a couple rookies. And I was going to post what I read on another board about how Marv Levy said yesterday that Whitner was going to start. Good thing I didn't!
  3. Yeah, I put them on a wire rack over a foil-line baking pan to prevent them from sitting in the grease and making cleanup easier. I'm trying to get all the moisture out of them that I can first before I cook them, and then I'll do the 425-450 for an hour method.
  4. Kaczur barely practiced this year and didn't play in any pre-season games. O'Callaghan got the start by default and has looked good, but there's a difference between pre-season and the regular season. I'm also not surprised Bruschi is out. He was in the same situation as Kaczur, i.e. little playing time. At least we won't have to see the "Bruschi cam" and hear all about his return.
  5. Thanks. I'll try EB's idea first and then invest in a deep fryer finally.
  6. Looks like he basically did that. "I told them to go out an prepare like before I got here."
  7. Before this gets moved, I STILL haven't bought a deep fryer and have been relying on making wings in the oven. They still don't come close to the crispiness of deep-fried wings, but I haven't tried a whole lot of tricks. Anyone got any? Thanks in advance.
  8. Yeah, I still see Smith's name on the roster on the official Pats website, but Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe reported he was waived yesterday. They probably just haven't updated the site yet.
  9. I believe Belichick about as far as I can throw him, but to say he tried to get information out of Smith carries more weight than if he'd said he didn't. There's no reason to lie and say you did, when you didn't.
  10. And Weis desperately wanted to be the head coach of an NFL team. He just saw that he wasn't getting the interviews and figured he'd go to the college ranks.
  11. Didn't Belichick basically come out and SAY in a recent press conference that he was trying to pimp Smith for information?
  12. The Vikes aren't even playing the Eagles this weekend.
  13. We'd know, if Smith comes out and says that Belichick picked his brains about the Bills' offense. And if that's the case, I hope he comes forward and admits this. Although I still think that Smith proved useless to them from ALL aspects.
  14. The Bills could have picked-up ANY of the Patriots' castoffs, but they didn't. I guess Bill was just more desperate.
  15. At first I figured this would happen as well, because I was thinking that the Pats didn't want to guarantee Smith's salary by having him on the opening day roster. However I just realized he's not a vested veteran and that doesn't apply. I think that Smith proved to be useless as a source of info, WR, and even punt returner, which is what worried me more than the other stuff (although not that much since the Bills have the much better ST's unit).
  16. I'd get Smith back on a plane to Buffalo quick and have him sit with Fewell upstairs.
  17. Wow, college highlights.
  18. That's about the ONLY thing PRFT is good for; comedy.
  19. I don't doubt that TD tried to extend him, but I seriously DO doubt that he offered him anything close to what he got from SF. Frankly I was surprised to see Jason Peters sign for so little (somewhere between $3-4M a year).
  20. Well, now you're being ridiculous.
  21. Jennings will annually miss several games due to injury. He's also an above average LT and got paid like a top-flight one. Again this goes back to TD's mistake in drafting Mike Williams. Since Williams was a college RT who they wanted to ease-into the LT spot, they had to move Jennings from his best position of RT (he would have been a perennial Pro Bowler there had he stayed) to LT. Had TD just drafted McKinnie, or better yet Jones, he would have had 2 great (McKinnie still has to get their IMHO) OT's STILL.
  22. He did. I believe I actually saw the listing in the newspaper. I'll see if I can dig it up (the house cost something like $750K).
  23. BTW, does anyone know what Peters signed for? All I could get is that his base salaries for the next 5 years add up to $10.55M. Considering players usually don't get more than 50% of their base salaries in signing bonus, that means he probably signed for 5 years and ~$15M.
