  1. Yep. Why was he cut the day before?
  2. JP was the man yesterday. If the O-line had done their jobs, hell if the ST'S had done their jobs, this probably would have been a different outcome. The defense I'm willing to give a pass to given that they had 2 rookie more or less starting at DT, and had another 3 rookies playing most of the game due to ineffectiveness (Wire) or injury (Spikes and Vincent). Those guys were thrust into some tough spots and they did pretty well.
  3. I would have left the money on the door (assuming that was the kid's suggestion on where to leave it) come rain or shine. If it was still there when he DID come around, great for him. If it wasn't and he rang the doorbell, I'd tell him it was there on Saturday when he said he'd be coming, so tough luck. That's the best way for people to learn. Now if he were delivering the paper poorly, that's truly bad service and I'd complain. Then again maybe I wouldn't. Remind me why I'm on my SECOND post on this topic?
  4. People said you were a reach.
  5. Yep, exactly what I saw. Would a shorter drop have helped? Did you see any WR's open quick enough?
  6. It's not your job to raise the kid. He's providing a service and unless he's doing a bad job delivering it, his methods of collection shouldn't bother you too much, if it's a matter of taping an envelope to your door and nothing else.
  7. It should have been a draw play.
  8. True. It should have been a 1 step drop.
  9. I've been saying all off-season that the Dols got worse between 2005 and 2006. Week one did nothing to change my opinion.
  10. Compared to last year, the Bills are better and the Dols are worse, and the Bills were 1 quarter full of Mularkey away from sweeping them. I like the Bills' chances.
  11. Sorry, I never accept bull sh--, no matter HOW it's served. Bad officiating is bad officiating. Whether there's chicanery behind it is another matter. But the Pats have been allowed to get away with crap few other teams have been able to over the past 5 years. Hell it even goes back FURTHER than that (remember the "just give it to 'em game!" game in 1998?). As for the blocks in the back, the Clements one was BS. And the topper was them blowing the play dead because one of the refs who DID see a push in the back, also saw Whitner step out of bounds, even though he was over a yard away from it the whole time. The Royal block I haven't watched again, mainly because I'm trying to avoid re-watching that sham of a game, but I remember in realtime it looked marginal at best and had no real bearing on the play. And there were NUMEROUS missed calls that would have gone against the Pats. Schobel got mugged on almost every play. There was an offsides on the play before the safety that went uncalled. Koppen flinched with the ball in his hands numerous times, which is a false start. And Moorman got roughed TWICE. It's not like this game was a blowout. It was close down to the end. Therefore the refs DID have a hand in the outcome. All I want is a FAIRLY OFFICIATED game, nothing more. It's not an unreasonable request.
  12. Try learning the game, Tod. Then maybe we'll take you seriously.
  13. It's amazing how few people know the rules or how they are applied.
  14. This whole discussion is hilarious, namely the Losman bashers. First of all, the ST's were HORRID all day long. Moorman was shanking punts, McGee was taking the ball out of the endzone and barely getting back to the 20-yard line, if even, and the KO and punt coverage weren't exactly up to snuff either. As for the safety, JP had NO TIME to get rid of the ball without taking an IG call or throwing a pick, since he was nailed by Banta-Cain as soon as he took his 3rd step back from under Fowler (who was pushed-back by Wilfork as noted in another thread). Then he tried to get out of the endzone by going to his left, but Warren was untouched and got him for the safety. Now let's say JP gets out of the endzone and is at the 1 yard line at best. With Moorman backed-up in his endzone and shanking punts all day, where do you THINK the punt ends up? Where it did after the free kick? And you think Brady throws that HORRIBLE-FOR-JP-INT-MUCH-LESS-GOD-BRADY INT in that situation? And last of all, WRT criticizing JP for failing to capitalize on the Whitner INT, he did. The refs however flagged Royal for a foul and the Bills couldn't convert 3rd and 2. But hey, how about that Bledsoe yesterday?
  15. I didn't say they stunk. I said that they're no longer the invincible dynasty, and a big reason for that is valuing savings and draft picks over proven players. Another reason is loss of good coaching, but that's not entirely within their power.
  16. LOL! If yesterday was any indication, the Pats are no longer a great team. And it's funny how foolishly consistent they are. They covet draft picks more than their actual players who have produced.
  17. Thanks. I didn't want to count them myself.
  18. So the rub here is that either the Patriots are vastly overrated, or the Bills are vastly underrated.
  19. I'm not sure if you meant this, but the Pats will be coming off their bye week going into the game in Buffalo. Fuggin' schedulemakers, who also scheduled 2 road divisional games to start the season.
  20. Yeah on Lindell. Boo on the REST of the ST's. WTF happened there?
  21. There were 14 called penalties but only 7 accepted against the Bills versus 2 called against the Patriots and one accepted.
  22. Forgive VA. He has his pre-conceived notions, many of which are/were gotten through a scout friend of his, that he'll go to the grave trying to defend. And it's a LOT harder to overcome injuries in-game than prior to a game, when you can prepare for them. The fact that the FIVE rookies who played most of the game were able to help keep the game so close is a testament to their potential.
  23. I think they wanted to specifically NOT call running plays, to keep JP in the pocket. Bad idea IMHO and could have made a difference today.
  24. The Clements play wouldn't have made a difference because the zebras whistled the play dead because they thought Whitner went out of bounds. And after thinking about it, the Royal play should have been 1st and 12 since the penalty occured (8 yards) BEYOND the line of gain.
  25. We saw different things, then. I saw the guy getting OLE'd by Clements as he was going down and diving for Whitner's legs, only to miss them because Whitner hurdled him. And for good measure, the zebras somehow see that Whitner steps out of bounds, so that even IF the block in the back isn't called, it's no TD since the whistle blew. Genius. And I can name a laundry list of penalties the zebras missed that would have gone in favor of the Bills.
