  1. Considering Ellison played most of the game and started against the Dols, I think that it was due to Haggan sucking as a LB'er. And he was a such a good college player. Oh well.
  2. I remember everyone complaining about the calls in that game. What everyone took issue with was Holcomb throwing a 3-yard pass on 4th and 11 instead of taking a deep shot. But again, with Holcomb, what you see is what you get. He's a finished book at this point.
  3. Actually, I did.
  4. Yeah it's WAYYYYYYYYYY too early to start thinking about playoffs. And realistically, the only team in the AFC East that's going to make the playoffs is the division winner. So the Bills will have to finish with a better record than the Pats. I'm not ready to predict that. Next year though...
  5. Fisher's outta Tenny after the year anyway.
  6. He also showed a remarkable inability to learn. He would continue to take sacks when throwing the ball away was the best option. Either he was REALLY dumb, or had himself in a fantasy football league that awarded you for completion percentage, but didn't penalize you for sacks.
  7. I heard that he was totally unprepared to be the starting QB. He didn't know the terminology and the plays. So I guess he "lied" to Fisher by telling him he was on top of things.
  8. We like you. We really, really like you.
  9. No way would they replace Donte now. Had Bowen been healthy for the opener, I'd have wagered he would have started. But no way now. Bowen will replace Wire as the 3rd safety and allow Wire to continue to concentrate on racking-up more ST's player of the week awards.
  10. Until the final Bills drive, Willis had 89 yards on 22 carries (4.0 YPC average). He carried 3 times for 2 yards as the Bills tried to run down the clock, instead of having JP take a knee.
  11. Not to mention: Other players must not commit fouls Refs must not call bogus penalties Again JP converted that 3rd down play to Peerless against the Pats, only to see it wiped-out by a penalty on Royal. That play got to the Pats' 38-yard line, there was 6:28 left on the game clock, and the Bills had a fresh set of downs to move at least 5 yards to get into Lindell's FG range. Sure they passed on the ensuing play and JP was sacked, but you only get so many chances against a defense like that, on the road. And JP will air it out when he needs to do so. So far he hasn't.
  12. This is totally true. Why Mort had to mention it however, is what's so funny.
  13. If it were just Fletcher or Baker, it would have been funnier. I tried.
  14. "Don't call me Kathy again!"
  15. The play isn't designed to be a pick. It's designed to get Roscoe the ball quickly and for the other players to block their men. Reed engaged his defender a little too early, for whatever reason, hence the flag. Bet it doesn't happen like that again!
  16. I know. My point was to take the comment about Wire from CB's blog talking about the coaches playing to the players' strengths and revisit a discussion from earlier where someone said that when Bowen comes back, he'll be little more than depth since the Bills wouldn't bench Whitner in favor of him.
  17. I think that pre-start of training camp, Youboty had the highest chance of success of the non-1st round picks. I think he can be a good one. But that remains to be seen. As for McCargo, as has been said, it sometimes takes a year for DT's to develop. Look at Kris Jenkins of the Panthers. And I think Brad Butler has a real chance to become a good RT. Pennington and Merz I don't feel so high on. And Ellison has been a total surprise.
  18. Actually it reminds me of the 2001 Patriots led by Brady. Win with great defense, ST's, and a QB who mostly avoids mistakes.
  19. The TD was to Faulk. And I hope Youboty can get in there quickly, but I think that he'll be saved for next year.
  20. Yeah, I thought I remembered seeing an article praising KW. I guess we'll know more this weekend, depending on who's the nickel DB. As for Youboty, I wouldn't want Takeo to bust an aneurysm thinking the Bills are TRULY rebuilding, with another rookie in the lineup.
  21. Uh yeah, we know. The point was that instead of Wire being on defense during 2 TE sets, Bowen will be, and that will be better for the Bills.
  22. Would the Bills be better served with Greer being the nickel again?
  23. I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about the general perception of the Dolphins' O-line. I knew they'd suck.
  24. Better...in relation to who the Dols had there last year (Steve McKinney), who as I said was bad in pass protection and nothing much in the run game. Anderson was supposed to be a great run-blocker and by his own admission (FWIW, which is nothing), is better playing the right-side. And under Houck's tutelage...
