Hmmm, that was 1 OC, 2 DC's, the most clutch kicker in NFL history, the NFL leader in post-season sacks, and a good WR's corps ago, HD.
What about my prediction LAST year? You have That saved?
Like I said, let me know when I'm wrong on this one, HD.
And a a result of tat, they've lost a lot of good players and aren't the same team they once were. But $4M a year is on the high-end of what I thought Koppen would get on the market. So call it what you will.
When players AROUND JP stop making stupid mistakes, I'll start blaming him for the failures of the offense. To this point, that hasn't even been CLOSE to happening.
Bump.
Yeah, I saw that. Friggin' Koppen!
I heard they gave him a deal worth $4M a year, but I don't know the structure. Pretty rich deal for a center. I guess Brady being incensed over Branch et al made the Pats take notice.
Not exactly. Ben was the starting QB, but his performance did more to hurt the team than help it. Luckily the refs were on his side otherwise he loses that SB for sure.
That's what I would do. I mean he's supposed to be out 2 months. That's 8 games assuming he can come back that fast.
And I'd sign Lavalais. I didn't realize he was available until Chris Brown mentioned him.
What should the Bills do with McCargo? Put him on IR? Make him an inactive for the next 2 months? And then do you cut a guy like Powell and promote a guy like Jefferson, or sign a guy like Chad Lavalais (from Chris Brown's blog)?
Sorry, if that's what you're taking offense at, I agree he didn't look like Montana. But a team's record is ALL on the QB, right? Nope, which is the point I'm trying to make.
The first INT was a result of heavy pressure in JP's face. The 2nd one, I don't know. Someone said that Roscoe ran the wrong route. Can tell for sure, so I'll lay that one of JP. The last one though, Willis was getting held and it should have been PI on the intercepting lineman. Either that or Willis was supposed to go out into a pattern but instead blocked.
What was KO's record as a starter last year?
As for the Ravens, they haven't been dominant on defense for years prior to this one. And that has NOTHING to do with McNair, much less Boller.
Last year Kyle Orton led the Bears to a 9-6 record and could have led them to 10-6 AS A ROOKIE. So yeah, I CAN say that JP would be undefeated with the Bears and that defense, especially if he was in his 2nd year in the offense.
As for seeing the field and not locking-onto one WR, JP's been spreading the ball around all season long. Yesterday he had so many drops from the WR's not named Evans, he stopped looking for everyone else.
Sorry JDG, for the team around Grossman and his prior starting experience, his games WERE essentially as bad. Spin it any way you like, but thems the facts. Put JP on the Bears this year, and they're 5-0 as well.
And Hasselbeck has been in Seattle's system for HOW long now? Again, for the team around him...
Keep at it though, you're winning everyone over.
Good point. I disagree with those that say it was "garbage time" since the Bears have been playing a full 60 minutes on defense for most of the last 2 years, trying to shutdown their opponents.
LOL! JP's 2nd and 3rd start were worse than Grossman's 7th and 8th start? You're REALLY reaching there, JDG. And JP hasn't had a defense like Grossman has had the past 2 years. Hell Kyle Orton and his 59.7 QB rating led the Bears to a 9-6 record last year, if that tells you anything.
I'm not excusing JP for his play, but Matt Hasselbeck, a Pro Bowl QB who was the best QB in the SB last year, looked just as bad. And the whole TEAM stunk. But again, the Bills are in the first year of a rebuilding year, with new schemes on offense and defense. The Bears are in their 3rd year of a new regime. See a difference?
