  1. Ah, I see you've been studying!
  2. The Colts in 1999. The Bucs in 2001. The Broncos last year. Those who do not study history...
  3. I agree. That was less a "blueprint" than an embarrassment.
  4. Not unexpected and not the end of the world. I could care less about the guard. They can plug-and-play anyone there. As for the defensive players, they're nothing to write home about, and defense was their liability anyway. As long as the D-line is intact for a half, that's all I expected.
  5. The Bills could have have Wiggins this year. However they probably did what they'll do next year, i.e. look at their roster and say "we have Soup, we have Neufeld, and we have a promising youngster in Euhus. We don't need another TE." Not saying it's right and I hope that Euhus turns out to be a stud, but that's probably the way it will happen.
  6. It's Pennington's arm that's the real problem, and with his little outburst last weekend, it's his head that's making it worse now. He knows he has to play lights-out this weekend because his team's hopes, and his rep, depend on it. But with a gimpy arm, a lousy OC, and a lot of factors against him (Bulger 18-2 at home, Martz undefeated as HC in the last month of the season, Rams having something to play for), I see it as a Jets loss. That is, IF Martz uses Steven Jackson early and often.
  7. SD can score points. The Broncos aren't as good and Plummer turns the ball over with regularity.
  8. The difference between the Colts and Steelers is that the Colts don't have many injured starters that they'd want to rest, whereas the Steelers do. The Colts will also be playing the following weekend so keeping up momentum is more important than for the Steelers, who have a bye week.
  9. I saw that happen in a college game once this year. The entire O-line didn't move. And a few plays later on, Hicks had a penalty.
  10. Hopefully there's a carry-over effect into January.
  11. Bruised knee was the report, nothing serious.
  12. Dillon's had at least 2 more fumbles that were saved on an early whistle, on e against the Bills (and I'm not talking about fumbling OOB). They've both lost the same number: 3. But the bottom line is the question was how many yards would TH have with the Pats, and he'd have as many as Dillon.
  13. I see the Colts' starters planning on playing a half of the game. They'll use it as a gauge to see how they fare outside in harsh conditions in a hostile environment. If there's a lot of pressure on Manning, they'll probably pull him early, and if there is an injury to any player, they'll probably pull their starters early. I don't see them "going through the motions" because Dungy and Manning have been in this position (i.e. resting for the final game, only to have it bite you in the ass in the playoffs) and don't want it to happen again.
  14. How manyt fumbles THIS year for Dillon, versus LAST year for Henry?
  15. The Rams at home with the playoffs on the line and Bulger with an 18-2 record, Pennington getting hounded and distracted by the press, and cowbell mojo will ensure a Rams victory!
  16. Bulger's record with the win tonight is actually 18-2. Pretty good! Hopefully 19-2 after next weekend.
  17. It also happened to Dungy when he was with the Bucs. And last year for the Broncos against the Colts. The smart thing would to NOT pord the bear and play the game to win.
  18. Good news for the Bills? Bulger is 17-2 at home. Hopefully it's 19-2 at the end of the season.
  19. Come on Bill, Dillon doesn't "suck."
  20. It's ribs and he's expected to be fine.
  21. Well if he wants to add more starters to the injury list...
  22. So? The Bills will theoretically get a specific pick in the 2nd round for Henry as well. I'm not even talking about 2006, unless it's to tack on a conditional pick, a la the Dols and RW. Using Dillon as a comparison, taking a look at their last 4 years with their original teams (i.e. 2000-2003 for Dillon and 2001-2004 for Henry which is his entire career), Dillon has 753 more yards, but 1 fewer TD. He was also 30-1/2 versus Henry who will be 26.5. And as for fumbles, Henry had just 3 last year showing he improved in that area. Droughns plays for Denver, who always has a good running attack. As for Goings, he's the exception, not the rule. He was their 5th or 6th RB at the start of the season so even THEY didn't know what they had. People will know what they're getting in Henry. Not even close. At worst the Bills will get a straight-up high 3rd for Henry, but I'm betting a straight-up 2nd that conditionally becomes a 1st. There is no pressure to trade him like there was with Faulk and unlike with Dillon, the market for him will be good. And no way he gets released when he's making just $1.25M next year. That's insane. At worst the Bills keep him for the year if they don't get a pick they like and let him become an UFA after the season.
  23. Interesting. The fact that he mentioned it happening before and thinking it was a mistake, as well as (I'm sure) being aware of what happened to the Broncos last year when THEY rested their starters for the season finale, would make Dungy actually try to win the game. Cool, I feel better now.
