Thanks and nice job by your team last weekend. First shutout in Texans history, congrats! Good luck next year.

Early Bills-Steelers predictions

You're not playing this game at home. Your team won't win. Talk to you again Sunday after the game. -
Did Mularkey actually give the players cheeseburgers on the West Coast trips, or was that a joke?

Early Bills-Steelers predictions

The Bills have the 3rd ranked defense, which has given up 100 yards less than the Steelers, despite playing in a much tougher division. How is your Ben-, Bettis-, and Burress-less offense going to do against them? I figure significantly worse than you fancy the Bills will do against your #1 defense, who will be playing on the road without some starters, and on the road where they're more dominant. As for ST's, Randel el is in the middle to lower 1/3 in kickoff and punt returns whereas McGee is one of the top returnmen in the NFL. Throw in motivation and it's a loss for the Steelers. -

The Bills won AFL Championships in the 60's. They mean about as much today as the Steelers's SB wins of the 70's. In other words, they mean DIDDLY and meant nothing when the Steelers were choking at home twice in AFCCG, and in the SB against the Cowboys. As for this game, as I said, you guys were barely squeaking by bad teams WITH Ben (who will be out), Bettis (who will be out), and Burress (who WAS out and WILL be out for this game). If you think that Maddox is as good as Ben or that the Steelers' offense without those guys will suddenly start playing at a higher level, you're fooling yourself. And the Bills' ST's are still WAY better than the Steelers', and that's the reason your team almost (but didn't) lost to the hapless Giants and their rookie QB. As far as I know, none of the guys the Steelers are planning on resting play ST's, correct? So congrats on your team's success. I cheered for them beating the Pats on Halloween and think they deserved HFA throughout the playoffs. However WRT this weekend's coming game, I don't think they have ANY advantage over the Bills in any area, given their plan to rest key starters, having no motivation to play hard, and the game being in Buffalo. -
how cool is it that the Bills are the top story

Question I would love to ask Tom Donahoe..
MadBuffaloDisease replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know what his answer would be. And while in his heart he'd like to run-up the score, he wouldn't tell Mularkey to do that. -

Crap, the Bills will have a night game on Saturday on the West Coast! -
The most reliable source for latest lines

Exactly. It's who is perceived to be stronger in the bettors' eyes. Most think the Colts will lay down and the same goes for the Steelers (the Steelers have more of a reason to do so, though). -
Micheal Vick says he wants to play this weekend against the Seahawks. So what WAS looking like a win for the Seahawks could very well be a loss. No one knows, not even the Rams, so they'll have every reason to play their hearts out against the Jets. Oh and looking back at it, the Eagles were morons for playing the way they did against the Rams (even though it was great for the Rams and thus the Bills). When TO went down, so too did their chances of making the SB because their remaining WR corps is still the same sh------- corp that couldn't get it done LAST year. At least with 2 games in hand, you should try to find out who your new go-to WR will be and work on the chemistry. Oh well, it's not like it matters ultimately anyway since the Eagles are making the SB.

Will everyone still feel the same?

If they lose to a Steelers team playing for nothing and playing a good number of backups, then they didn't deserve to make the playoffs anyway. If they win and the other teams squeak-by, I'll be pissed at those 2 games in the 0-4 stretch where they got screwed. -

You didn't throw any Twizzlers at them, did you? Or maybe those paper luggage tags? -
When will Colts' play in first round?
MadBuffaloDisease replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That depends on the Rams-Jets game. If the Jets lose, the Colts will have added incentive to beat the Broncos to bump the Bills up to the #5 seed, and have to play SD. That would be great IMHO, so everyone NEEDS to be rooting hard for the Rams. -

Fair enough. Good luck and no injuries no matter what the outcome. And if it can't be the Bills this year, at least I hope it's not the Patriots. -
I don't know if fans would support the game, but using replacement players and guys like Rob Ray and the supposed "at least 10 other players" who would cross the picket lines would force the NHLPA to accept the salary cap. The longer they holdout, the more money players are actually LOSING overall, even if a cap were in-place.

In the 2002 playoffs, The Jets hosted Indy on Saturday and the Steelers hosted the Browns on Sunday. In 2003 it was Baltimore hosting Tenn on Saturday and Indy hosting Denver on Sunday. I don't think that ratings has anything to do with it. -

Your defense is #1 by a whopping 100 yards over the Bills. That's basically the extra game the Steelers got to play against the Browns. And again, take a look at the teams you've squeaked-by over the past 4 weeks. I mean, 33-30 at the Giants?! Come on now. You've got a good team, but to expect them to beat the Bills with backups at a lot of positions and most of your difference-makers on offense is sheer fantasy. But I'll let Sunday's game speak for itself, after which I'm sure (if you dare come back) you'll say "well it was only against our backups." -

I'm sure you won't. But the guys who aren't playing won't allow your team to win. You're seriously overvaluing your team if you think they can line-up anyone and beat the Bills at home with the playoffs on the line. -
is anyone else sick to their stomach?

Exactly. Your team will lose so I'm not worried. I AM worried about the Rams and Colts games though. -

I looked at the past 2 playoff years and the #3 seed played on Sunday. Hopefully that stays true to form. -

I was going to back and add Jacksonville and Washington to that list but thanks. And the Bills should make Maddox look like Kitna. If this game were in Pittsburgh, I'd be more concerned. -

The Steelers have no chance of winning this game. They were barely squeaking out game WITH Big Ben and Bettis (Giants, Jets) and will be without Burress this game as well. And if Cowher is stupid enough to keep his starters in the whole game, he'll have even MORE injured players going into the playoffs. -

No score, but Bills will win. I'm not even going to be nervous for the game. However I WILL be nervous for the Rams and Colts games. I still think that one of those 2 goes our way. -
Ask him if he knows any Colts players, and to ask what their plan is on Sunday against the Broncos.
