  1. I'd have to believe that the Jags' PBP announcer knows a little more than your average "expert" and thus his opinion carries a little more weight. But at the very least, it gets the Titans thinking a little harder about making a trade.
  2. Interesting. The above blurb from BBI.com is what I read on BB.com's message boards and posted in my thread yesterday (http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=26191). However it was from a poster, and didn't have the credibility this does, being posted on a website as information, albeit in rumor form. I wonder if it's the same guy?
  3. I think that just a 3rd straight-up would be a great deal, considering the market this year and what was offered for him just a few months ago (a 5th rounder, IIRC). Having it upgrade to a 2nd would be gravy, and depending on the performance levels and health, Travis could very possibly get it for the Bills. It's also good for Travis because he goes back to Florida, plays on grass, and basically becomes the de facto starter, since I think that Taylor is pretty much done.
  4. Okay, here's the best I could come up with: http://www.wgr550.com/bills/fullstory.php?id=0937
  5. I think Parrella being a kitty and fleeing training camp had something to do with that. I hate that fugger because of that.
  6. The only link I have is to the Buffalo Bills message board, where 2 people heard it on radio in WNY, and one heard it on the radio in Jax. That's why it's a rumor at this point. But is has some legs, since my original post in this thread talks about the same trade parameters, but the conditional 2nd having been the sticking point. Maybe the Jags finally realized that Taylor isn't going to be able to carry the load this year?
  7. The latest rumor is that the deal for a 3rd that conditionally becomes a 2nd is all but done and ready to be finalized mid-week. Again that's rumor, so it will be interesting to see if it happens.
  8. I'm Triscuitphobic. Those things taste like particle board!
  9. I can't speak about McKinnie's O-line coach, but if you consider that McKinnie has "really only played 2 years," I'd submit that with Big Mike's coaching prior to last year, he's "really only played 1 year." And I think his potential is still largely untapped, or at least WAS.
  10. The salary cap was for the survival of the league's sake. And the players and their agents are MORE to blame for the owners' spending than the owners themselves. It's not like owners want to overpay players: they are forced to do it because players and their agents demand tons of money, and the owners want to field a good team. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But the players' salaries had grown so out-of-proportion to the league's revenues that the owners realized they couldn't keep going that way, and wanted the salary cap to get players and their agents in-line with what the league could support.
  11. I liked him in "The Practice."
  12. See: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=26191
  13. Eh? Crafts was a tub of lard UDFA who was taken by an O-line coach with no clue how to draft or develop linemen.
  14. I know. But your last statement that "an early pick doesn't seem likely" is refuted by what I quoted in my post. Unless you don't consider a 3rd rounder and "early pick."
  15. I meant the Dolphins would probably use a 2nd rounder on the DT Wright. I doubt either the Jags or Titans spend a high pick on this guy, much less count on him as their starting RB.
  16. No. Maybe later though. Uh, no. Miami will likely reach for him in the 2nd round, which is WAY to early for a guy who most think is a backup quality DT. Maybe he'll surprise, but it's not worth the gamble.
  17. Uh, Bill, did you read my original post in this thread?!
  18. Haven't heard a thing.
  19. It's older players and ones who don't hail from the USA. No need to play for less than before in the US when you can do that in your home country.
  20. Like I've been saying, it should be a 3rd that conditionally becomes a 2nd or higher, at least as far as the Jags are concerned. They'll be a good team, and Taylor likely won't be healthy for most of the season, so they'll need Travis a lot, and the 3rd rounder would probably be a late one. As for the Titans, Travis won't help them as much as they need, so a 3rd would be fine. IMHO. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/scor....nfl/index.html
  21. And you wanted...what? A taller WR (Parrish is a shade under 5'10", BTW)? Another position that could have had a greater impact than a 3rd WR (which BTW, the Bills have been lacking for years)? Kicker was gone. So too was an OT (not that I liked the idea of a 2nd round rookie LT in a weak draft protecting JP's blindside, moreso than a veteran who's started a good number of games at the position). Was there a DT worth drafting, who would have been better than Edwards of Anderson? The Bills got their TE in the 3rd round, but unfortunately he blew out his knee.
  22. I didn't say I wouldn't wear a jimmy hat. Or two.
  23. From what you described, I don't really see a problem for you or your wife, since it sounds like your MIL pretty much leaves you two alone. Your SIL OTOH sounds like she NEEDS your MIL's interference to avoid going further down the drain, and be glad it's HER taking care of that situation and not you and your wife (until later-on, be prepared). As for your FIL, it's sucks for him, but it's a situation he allowed himself to be put into a long time ago. His options are to get a divorce, commit suicide, or deal with what he's been given. All you can do is offer support.
  24. I take offense to that!
