  1. I think the Jax situation is the best one by far for Travis. It's his home state, the Jags are a contender, Taylor likely won't be back soon, if ever, and they're offering him more allegedly. Tennessee would be the best for the Bills, since if it's a 3rd rounder either way, the pick would be higher, they're not a contender and thus not a threat to the Bills, and potentially Travis could help them beat the Jags. I'm just hoping it gets done either way, but I'd like it to be the Jags for Travis' sake (I don't really care if he makes them a contender since I want the Bills to do it on their own), but then the pick would have to be a conditional 2nd.
  2. Well then, all the more reason to wear suits when going onto the planet.
  3. I think he could. He played some great games with Cleveland, despite having a lousy team around him. He'll have an infinitely better one in Buffalo. But here's hoping we don't have to find that out.
  4. From what I've gathered, the book had tripods, which they tried to work into this current version, and added their own twist in that the "pilots" beamed down into them, to create the EMP's that disabled everything. That was an update, as was the addition of force fields to the tripods, because man has advanced-enough technology to bring down an un-shielded machine. But the fact that the aliens died because they didn't have antibiotics is stuff that was outdated back in the 1920's, when penicillin was invented. Are you telling me that a race so advanced that they can build machinery like that can't develop penicillin, or something better? I can forgive Wells because antibiotics weren't around when he wrote the story, but today it's laughable.
  5. The Bills need to take care of their own business, not worry about what another team is doing. I think the Bills can beat the Jags with Taylor, much less Travis, so I'm not worried. I just want to get some value for Travis and I think the Jax deal is the best one for everyone involved, even if it might help a rival playoff contender.
  6. Good point and I was just about to say that. If she's like this as your GF, wait until she becomes your wife! Mine lets me go to strip clubs with the guys if I want, but I've only gone once.
  7. Yeah, shoot the script writer for staying with the original story, which as I said, doesn't hold up today and actually hasn't held-up for decades.
  8. Hell, it's the "1996 New England Patriots SB reunion team!" Maybe Parcells will invite Mrs. Belichick to be the team groupie?
  9. Go to the nearest Waffle House in your pimped-out '84 Cadillac and push her out of the car while it's moving. That will learn her right quick!
  10. Pure BS on the Jags' part. Taylor won't be ready.
  11. According to the (fantasy) article linked on the front of TBD (http://www.notjustagame.com/2005/07/13/396/), Moulds was still suffering lingering effects from 2003. Interesting if true, and good news if he IS 100%.
  12. The best players have "vision." It's where they can see things happening, almost as if in slow motion. Like once, I heard Ted Williams say he could read the label on a 78 RPM record (or maybe it was a 45?). That's impressive.
  13. Yeah, really. With the disparity in payroll the last decade, the Sabres should be getting the Wings' ball as well.
  14. I don't believe that Travis will be looking to get paid what Jordan got. And with the Jags, he'd be in his home state, playing on grass, and there's no state income tax, so I can see him taking a "home state" discount in any case. And as for Taylor, I doubt he ever comes back to his pre-injury form. Too much mileage, wear, and tear.
  15. No I realized that the "$37-39M" numbers were because they didn't figure out the total benefits and revenues yet. I just kept reading "team-by-team salary cap" and figured they meant every team would get a different number, with the richest team(s) getting the highest. Hopefully it's what you said, i.e. the same cap for every team.
  16. Good luck Melissa. Sounds like you have your hands full.
  17. I thought the concept of using humans as fertilizer was a VERY evil/eerie/shocking nice touch.
  18. Yeah, the minimum seems set for all teams at $24M, but the max for a team like the Rangers will probably be to top ($39M) while the Sabres might be $35M or something. I'm just saying the Sabres should have the option to spend the same as the Rangers, but that their minimum should be $4M less than the Rangers, using the above example.
  19. So from what I understand, each team has their own maximim cap? I don't know. I think that each team should be allowed to spend up to the maximum cap (I would assume like that for the Rangers), but need to spend a minimum that is linked to their revenue.
  20. Yeah, don't anyone get their hopes up that the Sabres with their THREE whole balls will be getting Crosby. Just be thankful that they can finally be competitive because other teams can't field a team with double their payroll.
  21. Yep. And it makes sense, since the Vikes were the better team, but ended up getting blown-out AND shut-out IIRC.
  22. The Giants intercepted the Vikes' play-calls on their headsets, so they knew what the Vikes were going to run, in that 2000 NFCCG. That's the ONLY reason they beat them, since the Vikes should have represented the NFC that year (it would have made for a better SB). But the effect lingered.
  23. Carter was always undersized and has been injury-prone. Engelberger is the same type of player as Schobel and Kelsay, except not as good. Don't need them OR want them.
  24. A GM should be passionate as well. He's around these guys quite a bit and gets to know them pretty well. At some point you can't help but takes things personally and TD's job is to let people know that if a player leaves, it wasn't because he did nothing to prevent them from leaving.
