  2. For a kid from a Division I-AA school, McGee's first year as a starter, when he didn't know he was going to BE the starter that year, wasn't too bad. I look for him to be much-improved this season.
  3. Travis for a straight-up 2nd from Jax was never a deal. Travis for a conditional 2nd was a theorized deal, but not proof was ever given that it was offered. So if the Jags made an offer of a 2nd, it was probably conditional, with the conditions being rushing for over 1,400 yards and 10-12 TD's, and given that Travis hasn't always been able to stay healthy and the possibility that Taylor could play this year, a conditional 2nd from the Jags likely wouldn't have happened, making it a 3rd, which is worse than the Titans' 3rd. Oh and this Jags writer has a better grasp on the situation: http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stor..._19259754.shtml
  4. More than a few here would have traded Henry straight-up for Shelton, or taken the swap of 2nd's with the Cards, or possibly even panicked into taking a 5th rounder for Travis. I know that's what VA in BiNYC would have done. But I don't recall what you were saying at the time so I don't know if you would have done the same, and of course now you would say you would have waited.
  5. Sorry to say that they were probably unintentionally funny and you signed-on here under false pretenses. But welcome aboard anyway!
  6. It's entirely plausible that TD felt he'd rather do a deal with the Titans over the Jags, mainly because the Jags were almost a playoff team last year and added some more players, whereas the Titans were bad last year and lost players. Now it might happen that the Jags are bad this year (especially if Taylor can't play for a good portion of the season), but the odds are definitely higher that the Titans will be a bad team.
  7. Sounds like Travis is happy to go to Tennessee (as per his agent). I'm glad then that it worked out for everyone involved.
  8. Hey it's nice to hear that someone thinks that Crosby will go to Buffalo. But unless he can help that along, it means little. It's (supposedly) a random drawing.
  9. What IS the point of these threads? Are we NOW saying that TD shouldn't have traded Travis? Or that TD should have gotten more? Jeez. Unreal.
  10. Whatever the offer or proposed offer, I seriously doubt it would have been a straight-up 2nd rounder, unless/until Taylor proved he couldn't play, which is probably a little ways away And given their stable of RB's and Travis' history of injuries, unless the conditions were low, meeting them would have been difficult.
  11. The Bills MIGHT have gotten a 2nd or a 1st after the 2003 season, because the market was so bad. But once that off-season was over, so were the deals. Then this off-season hit, and there was a glut on the RB market, to the tune of being able to get not one but TWO consistent Pro Bowler and top-5 RB's for a 3rd rounder (although admittedly having to pony up some big bucks). So TD got the best he could, given Travis' threats to not play for the Bills again and his demands for a contract extension, which lessens his bargaining position.
  12. I would bet it was a conditional 2nd with the conditions being pretty high. If that's the case, then the Tennessee deal was the best, from all aspects, for the Bills.
  13. This is rich! People who at one time were saying "Travis isn't worth a 2nd rounder because the Pats got Dillon for that much and he's a better RB" are NOW saying that TD should have gotten MORE because Travis was a former 2nd rounder and Pro Bowler?!
  14. So IOW, Anderson is an upgrade over Smith and Tucker at LG. I agree. And as for his pass-blocking, let's see him with the Bills, because the Ravens' QB's the past 4 years have been crap, and McNally might be able to teach him a thing or two. That's not saying that JP ISN'T crap since that remains to be seen, just that I couldn't care less what Anderson looked like pass-blocking for the Ravens, and his skill in the running game is what will be more important, at least for this year.
  15. Thinking about it more, a conditional 2nd from Jax is subject to too much chance. I'd have to think it would require Travis to rush for 1400 yard and score 10 TD's, and if Taylor is healthy at all, or Travis unhealthy at all, this season, those goals don't get reached, and the Bills end up with a lower 3rd round pick.
  16. Exactly. And for Travis, this sends him to his college team state and lets him play on grass, and he's closer to FLA than he was in Buffalo.
  17. I know. Too little. Hindsight being 20/20, they should have traded him LAST year.
  18. No, the stupidest commercial is the Nissan (I think) commercial where a guy and his dog are sitting in the family room in recliners watching TV, and the dog asks the owner to be walked. The guy says no and the dog says "if it's the leash you have a problem with, I hear there's a $199 leash at Nissan." Then the owner laughs and says "it's a lease." Oy!
  19. The Jags should have met the 3rd at least and should be contemplating making it a conditional 2nd. Fools.
  20. McMichael also spoke at the rookie symposium. Nice lineup of speakers.
  21. Yeah, sounds like it's KC. With Warfield being suspended for 4 games, they'll need Law to keep pace with the rest of the AFC West. Assiming he ever walks normally again.
  22. If Hardly Everhard tries to screw up the deal, TD should tell him that Travis will NOT be traded, won't be activated at all this season, and he'll trash him to every GM in the NFL prior to the next FA period. Talk about screwing WHOM over!
  23. When they're horizontal, they're shorter.
  24. Well, 25-35% more is better than 100% more. And I'd have to think that Tom would be willing to open the purse strings to get the puck rolling so to speak and jump start interest in the team.
