  1. Yes the Pats have a load of money...but on WHOM will they spend it? They've been loathe to dole out big contracts and free agents realize this. Should be interesting to see who wants to play there.
  2. The Patriots won't tie-up the money it will take to franchise, or even transition tag Samuel. So he'll be gone. He even mentioned how he and his agent approached the Pats for an extension and what they offered was an insult. Hopefully as has been suggested, HE'LL be the #1 target of everyone.
  3. They have so much money tied-up in the offense, that unless they get lucky in the draft and FA, they'll never have a championship-caliber defense. And defense wins championships. So too does coaching and Dungy is a good but not great coach.
  4. Just like with the Bills, Polian focused too much on offense and not enough on defense. Now the Colts' window of opportunity will be closed fow awhile because they can't afford to pay Freeney, their best defensive player, if not lose Cato June, Rob Morris, and Nick Harper as well. Hell, he couldn't even get them to a SB, much less to a SB to lose 4 times.
  5. I could also tell him his wife is annoying, but I doubt he'd listen in either case.
  6. Defense wins championships. Not QB's.
  7. I liked the "Pole dance practice" video.
  8. Most didn't see them losing twice to the Broncos LAST season either. Hopefully the entire Colts team shows-up to play today.
  9. I'm betting that most of the people voting on this thing were spanked as children. So...
  10. What looks like the toughest schedule on paper right now might turnout to be easier based on actual results next year. I wouldn't sweat it, and in any case, that's just the way it goes. It's all based on a formula that doesn't aim to screw anyone, although the schedule-makers often-times do that by scheduling 3 road games in a row, early-season games in Miami, etc.
  11. I'm hoping teams are now all hot and bothered with the Pats' Assante Samuel, who WILL be leaving the Pats, and start bidding like crazy over him, forgetting about Clements.
  12. Yeah, find out the brand and give them a call.
  13. You mean sh.....aving cream?
  14. Yep. Wasn't Henson considered a top prospect as well, and he was a QB. I'd say it's worth a pick.
  15. I say go after a FA DT and take Patrick Willis at #12.
  16. Anyone taking Smith in the 1st round would be stupid.
  17. If that (ridiculously huge signing bonuses) wasn't enough, they found a way to screw-over smaller market teams by putting a bug in the NFLPA's ear about having the salary cap based on ALL revenue, not just shared revenue. Now the bigger markets KNOW they can outspend their smaller market rivals. aholes.
  18. I don't know about that plan, but what about spending a 6th rounder on Smfhsfasjejia in the hopes he changes his mind?
  19. TD was hailed as a good hire at the time, mainly because of his work in Pgh. He failed here but it's not like Ralph went cheap or with some no name. And it's not like good GM's are easily found. As for head coaches, most top coaches don't want to coach in Buffalo, unless they get a premium versus a major market. And again as I said, paying $4.5M for a guy like Nick Saban doesn't guarantee anything.
  20. The Bills do not have the same population/corporations that Wash and Dallas, or even NE, have. They have never even come CLOSE to selling-out all their season tix, even in the SB years, hence ticket prices remain the lowest in the NFL on average with no chance of increasing them to even average NFL levels. Second of all, Ralph has spent to the cap every year but this one, mainly because of the uncertainty regarding the additional revenue sharing, which STILL hasn't been resolved (but hopefully will on the 23rd, so that Ralph can go back to spending fully under the cap). So he's trying to maximize his team's potential. Maybe he hasn't spent a ton on head coaches, but high-priced coaching doesn't guarantee you anything. Last of all, Jones and Snyder didn't do much to maximize profits other than to jack-up prices, or INSITITUE prices, on things that were previously cheaper or free (training camp). Again it all goes back to the market.
  21. Whose God put it there?
  22. We were where you are 3 years ago when the Bills hired Mularkey. We thought the defense was great and that they needed an offensive-minded HC to get the offense up to speed. Needless to say that it didn't work. And Cameron's record as a HC at Indiana should scare the hell out of you, if his play-calling last weekend didn't already. And the Dolphins have nowhere NEAR the talent on offense that the Chargers do, while the Dols' defense is aging rapidly. I agree with you on Martz, though.
  23. 20%. I couldn't read it.
