  1. You can't call a 6th round pick a "bust," especially not after a scrimmage and 2 pre-season games. Geisinger was considered a project, thus his draft status. And he was a college OT, who was considered a prototypical OG. He'll probably take some time to get there, so I wouldn't write him off just yet. Probably needs to hit the weight room hard this year and work on his technique with JMac.
  2. It was a complex play to be sure. But since the QB is the one doing most of the selling/motions, the RB needs to be cognizant enough to stay right next to him at all times, because all he's doing is basically standing there looking like a blocker. He should have been right next to JP, using his peripheral vision to look for JP to extend his arm. Lee was not only too far away, he was late in going for the handoff, thus the play failed on 2 levels.
  3. I like Gandy a lot. But I thought he could have stayed with the play a little better. True he rode KGB far enough outside, though. And as for the safety, I thought the QB had to have both feet in the EZ for it to be one? JP had one foot on the field when he was tackled. True. But as they say, if you're going to get hit, might as well make the catch. And again, it's what they're paid to do. Moulds should have just ignored the pass altogether though, if he wasn't interested in getting blasted. I could have lived with that. Reed could have attacked the ball, but when I replayed the ball getting to him, I saw the defender a step behind him and falling down, so that his arms were at best going to contact his waist. It just looks like Reed muffed the catch, like he did the flea-flicker in the season opener against the Pats in 2003. But I will say that what I saw was enough for me to want the Bills to keep Reed around. But without anymore flea-flickers his way. The DB got there WAY early. It wasn't even close in my eyes. Yeah, that was the play. I watched and saw JP extend the ball to Lee, who did a "oh, there it is" kind of move like he wasn't paying attention, and it was too late and JP took off. The onus is on Lee to get/be aware of the handoff.
  4. Have you tried a private investigator? It might cost you some coin, but it also might save your sanity. And if you're looking to exact some revenge out of this, I say give up the ghost and move on with your life. You have enough information (name, when he died, how he died, his character, etc.) to have a good idea about who he was.
  5. I watched the first half. My thoughts: -Tasker and Levy said the Bills were playing simple defense on that first drive. They only blitzed on the last 2 plays and Favre made a great play to get that TD. -The holding call on Greer to extend the Packs' 1st drive was bogus and was more the receiver running into him (the defender has a right to stand his ground) and he was within the 5-yard chuck-zone. -IMHO JP was sensing the pocket collapsing pretty well most times he scrambled, as I usually saw a defender ready to come in and clean his clock. I really liked how he looked, and close the the middle of the 2nd quarter, I thought I was watching Brett Favre in his younger days. -The safety play was a bad one for both JP and Gandy, as Gandy needs to finish his blocks, and JP needs to NOT run backwards, or at least be decisive when he starts to scramble. He had a wide open left side of the field, but could have heard a voice inside his head saying "don't run" and was trying to pass it first. Who knows, but it didn't end up hurting the team since there was a penalty, and it's a learning point. But Gandy played well most of the night. -Even though they weren't perfect passes, Moulds (on the play he got hurt), Evans, and Reed (on the flea-flicker, and the defender was too far behind him and falling down) should have come-up with those receptions. That's what they're paid to do. -On the first incompletion to Aiken, there was pass interference. -On the second incompletion to Aiken, JP expected him to be one place but Aiken was in another. Don't know who was at fault, but when JP was coming off the field, he was shaking his head. On prior plays when he screwed-up he'd be barking at himself. So I think that one was on Aiken. But if it was on JP, I can live with that. -On the first throwaway (where JP had something like 13 seconds), Lee wasn't paying attention to the (draw) handoff after the fake-pump. -On the 2nd throwaway, JP might have gotten away with grounding. He rolled-out to his left, but I didn't think he got outside of the LT enough. I can't say for sure.
  6. GG will probably end up on the PS.
  7. According to NFL.com, the Bills activated 5 WR's for the entire season.
  8. Well in the last game against Pgh last year, the Bills dressed 5 WR's. And since Parrish might not be able to play for a month or so, he'd be inactivated, bringing it to 5. That's why I see them keeping 6 at least until he returns.
  9. Who told you my ass looks like that?
  10. Yeah, she's got a nice (fake) rack, but she does NOT have "rockbottom."
  11. No way does Gates get cut. He'll be scooped-up in an instant. It's either Lee or Burns. I think the Bills keep 6 WR's, at least while Parrish is out. Moulds, Evans, and Parrish are obvious locks. That leaves 3 from Reed, Aiken, Smith, Haddad, and Wilson. I think Reed stays because of experience and blocking ability. I'm also thinking Wilson has shown enough to warrant keeping him around and developing him. That leaves the last spot for Aiken, Haddad, and Smith. Well Smith hasn't been used much as a WR OR a PR, so I think he goes. And Aiken hasn't done much of anything. So Haddad stays, and Wilson become Moulds' backup. Just MHO. I'll say Ritzmann, with Gause possibly making the PS (that is, if someone doesn't claim him).
  12. Yeah, I think that Williams and Gates have made the team, it's just the matter of who's #2 and who's #3? Personally I think Lee is fighting with Burns for the last RB (i.e. HB/FB) spot.
  13. NO ONE thought Peters would make a good LT, Bill. If they did, he wouldn't have fallen out of the draft and into the laps of the Bills. I mean, as it stands right now, he's worth his weight in gold if for nothing more than playing ST's and being the mother of all wedge busters (MOAWB). Frankly I thought he had potential as an OL-sized TE who could help the OT chip a TE and go out for an outlet pass. Never did I think that LT was a viable position for a guy who NO past experience at LT, much less at the NFL level. But McNally seems to think he's got what it takes, and I've read that more than a few times, so it must be more than just blowing sunshine up our asses. Again he needs more time, but give his size, speed, athleticism, and quick feet, he has all the tools (intelligence is debatable since standardized IQ tests only tests traditionally accepted definitions of intelligence and are largely culturally biased) to not only succeed, but he a good one. We'll see, and if the Bills hit on this, it will be a huge coup for them.
  14. Lord knows what reasons people have for disliking a particular player, to the point of wanting to see them fail even if they DO play for their own team. That seems foolish to me. Not saying that this is the case with FFS, but I've seen it several times before.
  15. Apparently you don't. When JMac calls him the best LT prospect he's ever coached, it means a little more than the belief of your average NFL fan. As was pointed out in another thread, for Peters to be able to hold-his-own against KGB after about a year TOTAL in time spent as a LT in his entire football lifetime, it shows the kid has skills. Maybe he's not ready to start this year, but most likely by next season. And his speed (4.87) isn't really all that fast for a TE, but it's incredible for a LT.
  16. That would make him lysdexic.
  17. Big Ben was also a rookie, not a rookie starter like JP. JP now knows what it entails to go through a full NFL season, Big Ben did not last year. And if Wyche does his job, he'll prevent JP from regressing.
  18. "Look, man, I only need to know one thing: where they are."-"Vasquez" from "Aliens" Oh and also "Let's rock!"
  19. Well think about it for a minute. If Davis couldn't help the BROWNS, how much could he help the Pats? It's not like Crennel is a moron or anything.
  20. House Ballard was drafted in the 12th round IIRC. That's UDFA material. It happens. It's also why Ryan Leaf went #2 overall and was out of the NFL 4 years later.
  21. To allay your fears about the defense, first off, on Saturday on the 1st Packers drive, the Bills were working on zone coverages which we likely won't see, and they didn't blitz more than a play or two, which is something (the blitz) we WILL see. Second of all, Phat Sam and previously Fat Ted were the keys to the DL, not Phat Pat, as evidenced by 2001 and 2002 without either and the defense being a sieve. Last of all, Phat Sam always takes pre-season off and the past 2 pre-seasons have had the Bills looking like shiite but playing great when it counted (with various hiccups). Oh and if you're not impressed with JP, you've got your sights/expectations set WAY too high.
  22. Yeah, why not line him up at TE in goalline or even redzone situations.
  23. Yes, but NONE of them are the female equivalent of Carrot Top.
  24. Well at least it's better to make those mistakes when it doesn't count (and doesn't hurt you either during the game) than when it DOES count. And JP's a quick learner. He won't make the same mistake twice.
  25. Well, no one claimed he was Pace. It's more that he's not the turnstile people feared he would be, and is actually a pretty decent LT. For the price versus performance, getting him and letting Jonas walk was a monumental success! However I know he's a short-timer at LT until Peters takes over next year, and is a Pro Bowl fixture for years (hopefully most with the Bills). Oh and I heard that LJ Shelton was pulled mid-series the other night in the Cleveland-Detroit game because he sucked so bad. Another good (non-)move on TD's part.
