Film review of Green Bay game
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard he was doing well in practice. Haven't heard much about him since then. Yeah, that WAS the play. I remembered it wrong. So even though I thought Lee screwed up, he atoned for it. -

I'd rather they kept McFarland as well. -

I thought McFarland was looking good? Oh and I re-checked NFL.com, and on that busted pump-fake RB draw play that Lee and JP screwed-up, JP ran for 15 yards. Not a bad screwup, although I don't recall if that was the play where the defender horse-collared him. I think the first throwaway was on that 13 second play, which had nothing to do with the play above. -
It should have been signed "Baghdad Mike." Yeah, that was part of my guesstimate. I just haven't seen a concrete number and thought I'd throw one out.

An offense that doesn't go 3-and-out a lot will also help the defense, which in turn will help the offense and ST's, etc.

Given the utter lack of information we've received from One Bills Drive about Roscoe's injury/condition, I've had to piece together certain things. Some of the sources are taken on faith but with the knowledge that they more or less support each other. I have used the report from that KFFL/Louisianna report and a couple "my friend is a..." sources and basically have determined that Roscoe did indeed break his wrist, had pins inserted, and will probably end-up missing the first 3 games (as per Roscoe, per the source). If this is true, I can live with him missing 3 games. It still sucks overall though. Believe it or don't. Just wanted to help out.

OT - Sirius Satellite Radio Question
MadBuffaloDisease replied to EZC-Boston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I thought it wasn't out yet. I remember the mid-summer release date and figured there would be a lot of fanfare when it WAS released. Maybe they're waiting to see if Stern gets let-out of his contract and will time the release with that? -

I'm waiting for Sirius to introduce their version of the XM MyFi, which will probably coincide with when Stern moves there. That MyFi thing is cool. -

You know the guy in that movie (and his GF) got mauled to death by a bear in real life, right? -

I liked hearing this from the article linked on the front of TBD ( http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=391555 ): -
I think keeping the mistakes to a minimum was the most we should have been expecting of him. And in doing that, I expected to see dinks and dunks, not long, low-percentage, throws. However I think that the Bills are purposely trying not to show teams that they intend on passing deep once the regular season starts, and JP has had more than a few deep throws, but most of the one's I've seen have either been dropped or subject to PI that isn't called.
-
I still don't get this thread/thinking! Before the Bills played a down against an opponent, everyone, the JP non-lovers included, were saying that they hoped he kept the mistakes (i.e. turnovers) to a minimum. Well that's what he's BEEN doing! But now that he's shown a penchant for not turning the ball over, it's "he needs to pass it deeper" or "he needs to stay in the pocket because he COULD get hurt." I don't know, I guess I'll take that as a sign that people are expecting more out of JP because of what he's shown, and that's a good thing.

Pats pick up Andre' Davis
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fine, I can live with that. That doesn't make him a great QB, or even the best QB in the NFL right now. And teams that have won SB's have won with nobodies at QB, but they all have one thing in common: great defenses. -

Fine then (and the tuck rule was called incorrectly, BTW). Let's call that penalty, but let's fast-forward to the Rams SB and ALSO call the penalty on Vrabel for b_i_t_c_h slapping Warner on the head on that INT returned for a TD, shall we? So not only do the Pats NOT get the 7 for the TD, the Rams get 15 to move them beyond midfield, and probably get them at least a FG out of that (or maybe even not). Think the game still ends with the Pats winning, seeing as how that was the turning point? ***************************************************************** Nice try fellas, attempting to get a BILLS fan on a BILLS message board to buy-into your beliefs that Tom Brady is god. Frankly I think Jehovah's Witnesses would be more successful in converting me to THEIR religion, but at least you gave it the college try and I have to give you an "E" for effort. Like I said, Brady is a good QB (and the Pats have been a good team), but Brady has been in a great, if not lucky, situation, and one that more than a few starting QB's in the NFL would have had success in over the past 4 years (not necessarily Bledsoe, outside of 2001 that is). My position on Brady didn't come from one particular play or game, but a whole body of evidence that tells me he's more of a cog in the machine than the machine itself. But his story isn't close to being over. What he does in the next year, and the next 6-7 years, will determine whether he's truly a HOF'er like you're claiming, or a guy in the right place at the right time for a decent-sized stretch of time. So we'll see who the "Nostradumbass" truly is. -
I'd be willing to bet that VA's scout friend is STILL clinging to the notion that JP will be a bust, and thus VA is as well. Sorry but the game film doesn't support that at all.

On a side note, that DeMarcus Ware looked pretty freakin' good!

Pats pick up Andre' Davis
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady didn't win that game, despite what the record-keepers say. He left with the score 7-3 thanks to a punt return for a TD. Bledsoe replaced him and they STILL won, thanks in large part to the 10 points he led the offense to (or it could have been any QB, which only further proves my point). Again the premise is that the Pats could win without Brady, and playing over half a game WITHOUT him and still winning means they DID win without him. Get it? Missing the playoffs after winning the SB, demonstrates that he's not nearly the godlike being you fantasize about him being. Again the defense slipped from their lofty status and as a result they missed the playoffs. Doesn't mean Brady "SUCKS" (and I DID say he is a good QB, did I not?!), just that he's heavily reliant on a great defense. I can no more predict the future than you can. But we'll see who's right with these latest set of predictions. The Pats went 5-11 in 2000 when they had a crappy team. They added a shitload of THEIR kind of FA's after the off-season, drafted Seymour, and started off 0-2 thanks to the defense giving up 23 points to the Bengals in the season opener and losing a close one to the Jets, a hated division rival (god forbid, and not like Brady hasn't lost to the Jets over the years!). But again later-on that season, Bledsoe saves their bacon in the Pgh playoff game when Brady goes down. Get your own line. I coined that term awhile ago. But nothing surprising, from someone without an original thought since visions of Brady began dancing in your head. -
Must have thrown it too hard.

Whatever you say, HD. You're about as simple as most of those who worship at the Brady altar. I realize you need to rationalize horrible officiating that propelled the Pats to 2 of their 3 SB's, and don't have the mental capacity to process that the reason the Pats started winning SB's was less about Brady being the only change, but the TEAM as a whole improving. You see, the point with bringing up the 2001 AFCCG against the Steelers was to SHOW that the Pats could win a big game without Brady, and WITH Bledsoe as it turned out, because the TEAM is what's more important than the individual. And missing the playoffs in 2002 also shows that without a dominating defense, Brady is nothing more than a good QB, again pointing to the TEAM concept. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Pats could have won the SB with any of a handful of starting QB's these past few years. That's because they had the best coaching staff in the NFL. That's why I think they're done winning SB's, despite the god-like status of Brady. -
Sam Wyche- your star pupil is shining

I watched the game and looked for JP locking-onto a receiver. Sure he did it a few times, but the defender had NO chance to defend the ball, because of the speed and quickness with which the ball was thrown. But I'm sure that in-time, JP will learn to use the look-off as a weapon. -

MadBuffaloDisease replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LMAO! Yes "legit" is having your bacon saved by a rule as ridiculous as the "tuck" rule, that was incorrectly applied BTW, and then getting away with more stuff in the SB that year. And then getting away with mugging the Colts' WR's 14 times (as per ESPN) in a game the Pats won by 3 points. I can give credit where it's due, just as I gave you last year as being legit since the refs didn't rear their ugly heads, so take some solace in that. If I truly "hated" on the Pats, I wouldn't even give them credit for that, or wouldn't mention it, but I did. And again, lost in all the Brady hype is Bledsoe winning in the Pgh playoff game in 2001, the 2002 non-playoff season (because of a bad defense), and the fact that the Pats have won big games without Seymour, Law, and Bruschi. But hey, keep up the Brady worship. I'm sure he's the only QB who will ever win SB's in the future, by 3 points of course. -
Anyone see Shaud Williams
MadBuffaloDisease replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too funny, because I only looked at the first 6 games, and the last few games. But in actuality, technically I was right. After Shaw was cut, the Bills elevated Haddad to the 53-man roster, to continue to have 5 WR's. Then when either Haddad or Reed was hurt, he was made inactive and no one else was elevated to the 53-man roster, as expected. So keeping with that this year, I see them keeping 6 WR's, since Parrish will be inactive for several games. -
Players released per V-Coach
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Florida_BillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've heard that as well. It's also to get other teams to think the players are so bad, because they're being released first.
