  1. Semantics. They should have NOT built in areas below sea level and at least not without levees that could withstand the most severe of hurricanes. I can understand originally not building them to withstand greater than Cat. 3 hurricanes (as they did), but there have been enough close shaves in the past to have undertaken strengthening/rebuilding of the levees and it was never done, mostly because of lack of funding and/or foresight. Well now look at it. It's a pity.
  2. Preston has been impressive. He was a lock to make the team regardless of Tucker's story. I can only imagine Tucker isn't healthy enough. Geisinger OTOH was a surprise.
  3. Move them to LA and get THAT over with. The Saints were likely going to move anyway, hurricane or not. As for the city of NO, I don't see it ever returning. The first/biggest mistake was building a city below sea level. Fool me once...
  4. He was rescued. http://news.yahoo.com/s/eo/20050902/en_music_eo/17283
  5. Someone once said that the definition of a WASP was someone who got out of the shower to pee. I guess Ross isn't one.
  6. Hell bring him back to Buffalo. As the 3rd WR, he'd be excellent.
  7. I'm trading-in my Honda Pilot for a Toyota Prius. I'll get around 50 mpg with it, and it handled pretty well.
  8. Just to clarify, his wrist has been in a cast since he had surgery. It might have been plaster initially but reports are that it's a soft cast now. And he ditched the sling a week ago. All in all, he's moving in the right direction and there's a real possibility he could play in the opener. Might be some pain, but he could do it.
  9. He ditched the sling back on 8/24, and there's no reason he needs to be wearing one since he didn't injure his shoulder or upper arm (at least that we know of). And as for the cast, what did you expect? Hopefully the cast allows him to move his fingers enough to catch a ball (in conjunction with his other hand, although a one-handed catch with a casted wrist would be REALLY impressive!).
  10. I told my wife this same thing, i.e. people talk about the snow in the North, Northeast in particular. However I'd MUCH rather face a blizzard than a tornado, hurricane, earthquake, mudslides, fires, and floods.
  11. Darnerian McCants over Peerless Price? See it's moves like these that will ensure the Eagles NEVER win a SB.
  12. Chidi Ahanotu. Except he did it the other way around (i.e. lived in Toronto and commuted to work in Buffalo). I know that's what you said, just trying to restate the point of how it's the opposite of the thread subject.
  13. He has? What list is that, the PU list?
  14. And as for using him as a punt returner, I wouldn't do that right-off the bat. Taking hits as a WR might be bad enough, but when faced with kamikazees coming at you, the chances for re-injury are much higher.
  15. The sooner the better! Even though he's a rookie, his speed will open things up offensively.
  16. Then they shut-down the Colts. They'll have a really good defense this year and it gave the Bills somethings to work on.
  17. Should be a short visit then.
  18. The PUP list is for injuries related to football. There are other lists like the non-football injury and reserve list which are for non-football injuries. I'm not totally sure, but I think Parrish could have been placed on PUP because he sustained an injury while playing. In any case though, I expect him back by game 4.
  19. Yeah, 6th game, up until the 9th game. After that it's either active roster or IR. And the good news is that Parrish wasn't PUP'd so they expect him back before game 6, and again it will probably be game 4.
  20. And here I thought this was about Bruce Jennings vs. Mike Spitz. Both were great athletes! Seriously, TD messed-up drafting Big Mike...and he didn't. Jennings was perfectly fine at RT so the Bills didn't need another RT. However I don't think anyone wanted to trade up into the #4 spot, and the only other player rated that high was Roy Williams, and I'd be PISSED if he paid all that money to a SS.
  21. I'd be surprised if Peerless signed anywhere but Philly (although if it WERE somewhere else, I wouldn't be surprised if it were Buffalo). They have a need, they have money, Price would definitely be #2, and he could help them get to, and win, a SB.
  22. Gandy's doing fine, for 1/6th the price to obtain Shelton originally, and 1/3 the price to obtain him as a FA.
  23. I got gas at Costco today for $2.48/gallon, on my way home from work. I was going to go down the street last night for gas, but decided to wait and I'm glad I did. However I'll have to fill-up the wife's minivan with the gas down the street, in anticipation of SKY HIGH prices soon. Good thing she doesn't drive that much.
