  1. Yeah, the Bills play the Bucs in Tampa for the home opener with Cadillac, and the Jets play them in Jersey without Cadillac and win by 2 late. You DO realize this game is in Buffalo with Holcomb starting, right?
  2. If you HIT the QB in the head, it should be a penalty. The Bills player touched him with no impact as I said. And I was mentioning it in relation to what sounded like a much worse hit on Holcomb that wasn't called.
  3. I saw the first 3 drives of the game and 1/2 of the Dols' 2nd drive, and saw the refs throw a ridiculous PF when a Bills defender literally put his hand on the helmet of Gus, without making any impact whatsoever (i.e. Gus' head didn't snap back). And the play was behind the zebra.
  4. Were they legit penalties?
  5. Using the no-huddle and being conservative aren't mutually exclusive. The no-huddle is just trying to get the defense to stay in the same defense so that they can't substitute/rest players.
  6. Shows what a top-notch long-snapper can do for you, once everyone gets comfortable with him. Dorenbos was a nice story, but wasn't ideal.
  7. Yeah, thanks for saving ME from having to do it!
  8. It was Walt "blind as a bat, dumb as a stump" Coleman and his crew. What did you expect?" Be thankful the Bills were able to overcome them and still win.
  9. J. Jones and K. Jones? LMMFAO!
  10. Yep. When it comes to Vick, the Falcons, and winning, it's NOT about his passing ability (or lack thereof).
  11. Possibly, but I'd still liked to have seen it. That being said, the Bills would be 5-0 if Holcomb had started all season. That's not a knock per-se on JP, because I was expecting the defense, ST's, and running game to carry the team. They haven't been able to, so the Bills needed a QB who could make plays, and that's Holcomb.
  12. The Bucs were playing without Cadillac Williams and were at home. The Bills will win next weekend. Holcomb has only had 1 week as the full-time starter, and the Bills should get Big Mike, Euhus, and maybe even Parrish back.
  13. I'd still rather face Schaub than Vick. If not for his absence, the Pats lose today. And why couldn't the Bills also play the Bucs WITHOUT Cadillac Williams?!
  14. Dom's not the same fearsome goalie he once was. But a win tonight would be huge.
  15. No surprise. Dwayne Johnson, aka "Rocky Maivia" aka "The Rock" played linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes. I believe he tried out for the pros, didn't make it, then started juicing and went to WWF. And the rest is history.
  16. I think what he's saying is that if the Saints didn't hold a 13 minute TOP advantage, because the offense couldn't sustain drives, that 70-yard run never happens.
  17. "...except for that one time..." on the road against a weak opponent. Looks like the SOS with Miami. Play great (defense) at home, but not so well on the road. I feel more confident getting a win with Kelly than I would have with JP, but that's because Kelly can make the plays that need to be made on offense that JP currently can't do, and NEEDS to do given the fact that the defense and ST's aren't able to carry the team.
  18. Easier said than done. With Losman, once you stopped the run (IF you stopped the run), you could more or less count on his inexperience to assure that he probably wouldn't beat the blitz, especially with the way he's played the past 3 weeks. Not so with Holcomb. And ask Saban what happened in Jersey in week 2. Outside of the oppressive heat and humidity, not to mention crowd noise, of Miami, they're a different team.
  19. Sorry AT, I was only referring to YOU and YOU ALONE, not some "group" of Patsy fans who think I'm "14 years old." Feel free to not make yourself look like a huge hypocritical ass when you come to another team's message board and talk about who is naive, or more precisely, save it for when I come to the Pats board and profess how "super-smart" I am. Uh, the news that Holcomb was starting was more or less broken yesterday (Wednesday), hence the questions to that effect. I guess to you it sounded like he spent a good amount of time gameplanning for Holcomb, because he didn't ball-up in the fetal position and cry at the news. Maybe they spent a little time gameplanning nad maybe even practicing plays for him, but it still throws a major wrench in the works and negates a good portion of the extra week of time they got. And I'm sure if you asked Saban what he truly felt, that he'd rather face Losman than Holcomb.
  20. You're obviously too simple to have gotten the gist of my Saints reference. To put it simply, in deference to you, do you think the Saints spent ANY time game-planning for Holcomb, seeing as how JP had 2 lousy games prior to that game? Or is 3 games the tried-and-true number of games after which a HC says to himself "you know, it's been 3 bad games. I bet they go with the backup so let's focus mainly on him?" Again as I said, I doubt the Dols spent a lot of time preparing for Holcomb, and even if they did, it's not like they have much gamefilm on him, much less in the Bills' offense. But we can end this right now if you, or anyone else, can find a quote by any player, coach, or Dols sportswriter saying they expected, and planned for, this move. I'm sure the Dols know by now the Bills' plans to start Holcomb, and that some reporter has asked them about it, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
  21. Fair enough. Again, Chow knows more about Cassell than anyone else in the NFL, having coached him for 4 years at USC. If Chow thought enough of Cassell, he should have been telling Floyd Reese that this kid is virtually as good as Palmer/Leinart and that the Titans should be looking to spent even a high day 2 pick on him. You don't let a potential talent like that slip to UDFA status, where everyone has a shot at him and the odds of getting him are a lot lower than using a 7th rounder.
  22. Do you think the Saints spent time gameplanning for Holcomb? Or is 3 bad games the typical number of games after which a QB gets yanked? If you think that Saban drew up a defensive gameplan focused mainly on Holcomb, you're living in a fantasy world. And even if he did, it's not like he has a lot of gamefilm to go from.
  23. It basically wastes the Dolphins' preparation all of last (bye) week for JP, thinking they were going to face a green QB. Holcomb has experience and has had some good games, with some godawful teams, but his performance in relief the past few weeks has been pretty bad. Hopefully though, he's like Frank Reich, i.e. an excellent QB when he gets the starting reps in practice, but lousy off the bench. Again I don't like the move, but if it gets a "W," I can't complain too much, since that's the ultimate goal.
  24. Cassell hasn't proven anything in the NFL. Until he does, it doesn't say anything about those 2 teams. I think what's more telling is that Norm Chow, the Trojans' OC the past few years and would know Cassell better than anyone else in the NFL, didn't even urge the Titans to take a flyer on Cassell in the 7th round.
