The recordkeepers had to assign the win to someone, so they went with the starter by convention and nothing more. They've always done that. The reality is Brady didn't score any points while he was in, whereas Bledsoe scored the points needed for the Pats TO win, in conjunction with the points the ST's scored. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. And last time I checked, the object was to score points and win, not merely start a game, score no points, and get knocked out less than halfway through the game. This fact isn't even debatable, but it's fun to hear Pats fans try to discredit Bledsoe's season-saving performance in relief of Brady, because it deals a blow to the Brady myth (as does the 2002 season). Depends on what you define as "playing well?" He scored the necessary points to win the game and didn't turn the ball over. Almost plays don't count and I could say that Brady "almost" lost all 3 SB's. But that's not what happened. And again, the last time I checked, the object was to score points and win, not just to have pretty stats, score no points, and get injured. Too bad you're pissed that Bledsoe won that AFCCG. Or more precisely that he didn't look pretty winning it and/or proved that the Pats could win without Brady.

They can run Jordan into 8-man fronts all they want. I'm not unhappy with this news.

I was going to retype my response but you/HD responded quicker than I thought. Okay. How? He didn't score a single point in that game before getting injured (and obviously not AFTER getting injured). Without Bledsoe's 10 points, the Pats lose. I mean it's not like the ST's scored EVERY point that game. Yeah, he just threw an incredibly stupid INT in the Panthers SB to spark their comeback. And Bledsoe had that "carelessly tossed" ball INT'd, right?

This is hard to say!

The Pats could have won 3 of the last 4 SB's with about half a dozen of the currently-starting QB's. And I agree that without his dominating defense and Vinatieri, he's not nearly as successful. Hell just look at Bledsoe winning at Pgh in the 2001 AFCCG and the Pats' 2002 season for proof! -
Looks like Tedy Bruschi returns
MadBuffaloDisease replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one is afraid of Bruschi. A few blows to the head and he'll be a drooling vegetable. But that's HIS decision. And he won't fix the problems that go well beyond his absence. Sorry to say no SB ever again for the Pats. -
Bledsoe beat the Steelers in the AFCCG, didn't he? That was a big game, right? And his output was no different than Brady's in the SB a week later, if not that it was a neutral field and the Rams didn't have as good a defense as the Steelers.

Oh the irony.

You have just been added to the official HD "troll" list. I'm sure you're as dismayed as I was.

Chalk This Up To........
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh yeah? I'll tai-chi your ass into submission! -
I was hoping to see him last weekend, but since the Bills won, it doesn't matter. If they can beat Oakland without him, so much the better since it gives him another week to rest.

You want to talk about hating? Bring up Peyton Manning to a Pats fan.

on both Holcomb TD's...
MadBuffaloDisease replied to tornado681's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the replays I heard Aiken for Smith's TD and Evans for Moulds' TD. -
Sorry to say you've failed miserably. Like I said, get over yourself. I did a LONG time ago.

This is rich. So anything negative I say about another team HERE on a Bills message board can be construed as "trolling?" Is that what you're saying? Or is there a quantification of the "inflammatory nature" of the post? Please! You and your brethren are the only trolls here. A troll is generally accepted as a fan who goes to other message boards and posts stuff just to get a reaction and who rarely stays around. I am neither. Furthermore I don't slam the Pats here to get a reaction from you, so don't flatter yourself. Maybe in some alternate universe you're not supposed to talk about another team on your own message board, but that's not the case here. So excuse me if I don't accept a troll's definition of what is a troll, and feel free to call me a troll when I visit one of YOUR message boards.

Looks like Tedy Bruschi returns

A broken wrist isn't anything like a stroke, a point which you're obviously missing. Yes one of the causes of the stroke was fixed, but not the cause of the clot, and who knows how long the after-effects of a stroke last or can lead to further injury in the face of trauma? Most stroke victims don't go back to playing the most violent game on the face of the earth, much less at a position where you're constantly trying to run into what is the equivalent of a human wall. -

Actually it was 14, and actually it's not my credibility, it's ESPN's. You see, I saw a ton of missed holding calls during that game, but it wasn't until the re-match between the Pats and Colts to open the 2004 season when I heard the announcers say "we went back and looked at the game...and found 14 missed holding calls." I'm sure since the game was on ESPN and you being a diehard Patriots fan that you heard them say that, but didn't listen to what was being said and/or laughed it off, as is your wont. And before you get on the ESPN announcing crew, calling them idiots, by "they" they meant they and their analysts looked at the game. So if you have an issue with that, take it up with them. -
You're infinitely more of a troll than I am, HD. You see I'm not the one on a division rival's message board taking offense to posts slamming my QB/team. That my friend, is a TRUE troll. And even if I posted stuff you didn't like, it wasn't solely for that purpose. It was because I meant it.

Looks like Tedy Bruschi returns
MadBuffaloDisease replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great reason. I wonder how many case reports there are of professional football players returning to the field a little over 8 months after suffering a stroke, much less after missing the entire off/pre and regular season until midway through? No wonder there are ambulance chasers. -

No, it was a catch on the last drive where he gets crunched. More often than not he still catches those. Hardly. Brady killed more drives in the 1st half than Givens and Branch (on the 2nd half) combined. -
Well then, you don't know what the word means.
-
I originally thought it was because of the absence of Cadillac Williams. But the Bucs ran all over the Dols, who have a MUCH better run defense, without him.
-
. Too true. Too true.
-
Save the 2-gap stuff for the Pats. And I agree that they should have run Willis more, especially near their own endzone, i.e. on that series where Holcomb throws that INT that gets returned to the 2-yard line.
-
I know you get confused sometimes HD (okay well, a LOT of times), but this is NOT a Patriots message board. So sorry to say it's not "irony."

Branch had a big drop as well. And Brady was horrible in the 1st half, badly missing wide open receivers.
