  1. That's very possible as well.
  2. Maybe even Tampa Bay at 4, although a trade-down by them a couple spots would make more sense.
  3. Contrast yesterday and what the Colts did with Hester, versus what Parcells did with Desmond Howard in the Patriots-Packers SB in 1996. I can only surmise that Parcells intentionally meant to lose that game.
  4. Come on! Peyton threw for 247 yards in that monsoon and his ability to stretch the defense (the Bears were playing their safeties some 15-17 yards off the LOS) and spread the defense with 3 WR's (which forces the Bears to use more DB's, who can be run on), are the reasons why Addai and Rhodes racked-up the yards.
  5. Depends on how much of it was Holland and how much was Ryans. I was talking about Mularkey, had he stayed.
  6. Good memory/catch. But same deal. Again he probably didn't want to coach with a lame duck coach.
  7. Like I said elsewhere, if Brady won the MVP for the Pats' first SB, Manning certainly deserved it.
  8. Word is that Zierlein handled the OT's and McNally did the other positions. I guess they'd be co-OL coaches. I'm sure Kugler was approached about the job when Mularkey was still the HC and didn't want to join a lame duck coaching staff. Even though Mularkey resigned 1/13/06 and Kugler was officially named the OL coach at BSU, he probably started talking with them soon after declining the Bills' job, and didn't want to back-out of a job in-hand.

I am satisfied with the selection although puzzled about why he didn't accept last year.I'm sure Kugler was approached about the job when Mularkey was still the HC and didn't want to join a lame duck coaching staff. 11. The league is definitely a far cry from where it used to be. Free agency, expansion, and the rise of the other pro leagues has given us parity, which is great for small markets like Buffalo so that they can survive.
  12. Hey, that's the average fan for ya.
  13. It's far more deserving of an MVP than Brady's performance in the Pats' first SB. And add in the fact that it was raining like anything...
  14. There were 2 guys trying to get off the field at the same time. The 2nd one just barely made it off. And it would have been 3rd and 4 and given them another shot at the endzone instead of being 4th down (and 2).
  15. You could say the same for every SB-winning team's O-line.
  16. It was close and the last Bears player got off a split second before they snapped the ball. And if you noticed, later in the game the Bears burned a TO when a similar situation arose. In the grand scheme of things, it meant nothing.
  17. In the past he couldn't. There was a definite change in his approach this year.
  18. The Colts run 3 wides all the time. That spreads-out the defense and puts smaller guys in there to cover. Hence the running game works better.
  19. "It's all about the QB."
  20. Well in Dungy's case, the worst thing you could ever experience happened to him LAST year, when his son committed suicide. And Lovie's lost a SB before, as DC of the Rams, when he told the defense to play prevent on the Pats' final drive. Looks like he kept the same passive gameplan.
  21. Too bad the Bills couldn't run into chumps like the Bears in the SB.
  22. Go for it! And that was a defensive off-sides. If not for stupidly kicking-off to Hester to start the game...
  23. Yes. And first RB to gain 1,000 without starting a game all season.
