Looking at the stats, Gandy and Shelton have both given-up 4 sacks in 12 games, and Gandy has committed 5 penalties whereas Shelton has committed 6 penalties. And Shelton is earning $950K in base salary to Gandy's $540K, and I'm sure with bonus Shelton ends up costing over twice as much. A good non-move I'd say, considering the only way the Bills were going to get Shelton was trading for him and his then $3M salary.

So, is it better to lose 0-5 at home to a team with a 10 game losing streak, or lose by a point on the road after dominating most of the game? I don't know, I'm just asking.

The Bills' defense was already on the plane after the safety, thinking the game was in the bag. Ryan Leaf could probably have QB'd that win.

Oh, I'm not excusing him for a bad pass on a good read. I'm BLAMING the coaching staff for passing the ball at the 3 yard line with a 21 point lead, especially on 1st down. I said in another post that this was a learning point for JP.

He led the team to 21 points. He doesn't play defense. And he should never have been told to pass on the Miami 3-yard line with a 21 point lead.

They didn't prepare for him and they thought they had the game in the bag. Those right there were the reasons for the loss.

It was a learning experience. This season was over anyway, as much as we tried to have hope, so get JP all the experience he can get, clean house over the off-season, and reload.
