  1. Well, with a name like "beerme1...." Yes, this was based on what happened with Peerless to a large extent.
  2. Sure. I hate the Pats. I hate the bull sh-- calls they got in 2001 and 2003 to propel them to their 1st 2 SB wins. I believe they won the SB fair and square last year though, and I don't think they have a shot at making it this year, much less winning it. And I think it would bother me about as much as it would bother Pats fans if the Colts/Manning won the SB. Then everyone will be talking about how Manning is the best QB of his generation and you know they just HATE it when anyone says anything other than Tom Brady walks on water.
  3. Oops! Got the 14 missed holding calls right, but it was a 10 point loss. No matter, the Colts dominated in NE this year and if they see the Pats, will be doing so in Indy. No snow, no intentionally iced field, and no mugging of WR's allowed.
  4. He's the key to their 3rd straight SB win.
  5. A better tackler, but not a better CB. The last franchised player was Peerless Price. If you remember, the Bills traded him for a 1st and retained the use of their franchise tag. With the lower cap number, the chance of him being franchised just went to 100%, and the chance of him being traded for a 1st also rose significantly. At least in our eyes since we didn't know about it, but I'm sure other teams (and TD) did.
  6. So the best you have is the Jax game last year, and this year when the Bills have no defense at all? And Winfield is a better CB? Sorry but we'll have to agree to disagree.
  7. Nothing to lose? They're the defending champs. They've got EVERYTHING to lose. The Colts have proven they can get mugged 14 times in snowy New England and still lose by only 3 points, again with a crap defense and against a much better Pats team. Again the difference this time is what I already stated, and knowing they throttled New England IN New England, and now have an extra week to prepare for them.
  8. You're on drugs if you think that a) Clements is not worth Winfield money (if not more) and/or b) teams wouldn't love to have him for just $5.7M a year. Willis might not prove to be worth franchising if the O-line isn't fixed/he doesn't start playing better. Somehow I think he won't get the chance.
  9. You'd think Wolf would be a good candidate, but word is that NO ONE is knocking on his door. Not even the Texans. And as for Polian, I doubt he'd work for the Bills. And outside of Pioli, who signed an extension with the Pats, no one else is proven. Again you're taking a chance on mostly unproven guys who may or may not be better than Modrak. Different isn't necessarily better.
  10. The difference between this year and past years is that the Colts have a defense that can shutdown the Pats. They also have the 1st round bye and HFA. Those are significant changes over previous years when they had NONE of those. Again I don't think the Pats are a good team this year, not after drubbing the hapless Bills. They have a lot to prove before anyone can say they're even a shell of their former selves.
  11. I think this is the year the Bills could very well trade down for more picks. unlike in 2002, there are more high-profile guys who should be available at pick #4, like Leinart or Young.
  12. Like I said above, they don't fear the Pats anymore. And the Pats aren't that good of a team, the beating of a hapless Bills team nothwithstanding. The Pats are 2-5 against teams with winning records this year. A good test will be the Bucs, although they're playing in NE and a freezing weather game for a hot weather team usually means loss for the hot weather team.
  13. Anything is possible, but without a bye and with their coaching and player losses, there's no way they're making the SB this year, much less winning it. The Colts are just head and shoulders above everybody and have HFA. Moreover, they don't fear the Pats anymore, especially not if they're playing at home.
  14. Why would the pressure be any less intense if they lost one of their next few games? In the playoffs, whether you're 16-0 or 8-8, it's one and done. And the Colts don't fear the Pats anymore, especially with a game in Indy, with a bye week to rest and prepare, while the Pats don't have one.
  15. Okay then, WHO do the Bills hire? Apparently no one is as good as advertised.
  16. The Bills need a dominant DT before they need another LB'er. I'd say they also need an OL before a LB'er.
  17. Who is the best DT prospect? If he's worthy of close to the #4 pick, I'd take him. I think that Peters plays LT, Gandy slides over to LG, and Preston plays OC, leaving the Bills to fill RG and RT. But I don't think they use the 4th overall, or even a high 1st rounder, on those positions (and in the case of RT, again).
  18. With the way they've been playing of late? They've played the Jets and Bills the last 2 weeks, 2 of the worst teams in the NFL, and as smokinandjokin said, they didn't look to hot against the Jets. The week prior to that they, and Brady in particular, laid a major egg against the Chefs, an average to slightly better team. I'd say that there's a good chance the Pats might not even win their 1st round playoff game (since they won't be getting a coveted bye week this year) at home depending on who they draw as their 1st opponent, but I don't see them moving past the 2nd round.
  19. Wow, that's a HUGE drop in price and makes franchising him (and possibly trading him for a 1st rounder) almost guaranteed and much lower-risk. Cool. Any reason given why the amount dropped? Is it something to do with the (currently) uncapped 2007 year?
  20. The joke will end this year. Don't worry. I'm more than confident in my prediction this time.
  21. The Pats have NO CHANCE of winning the SB this year. But feel free to bet the house on the opposite happening. I'm sure Belichick and Brady will prove me wrong.
  22. Tucker won't be getting a ring this year.
  23. Thanks. Are Dumont and Pyatt big losses?
