  1. You can't look at it that way. Say the Bengals win-out and the Broncos lose to the Chargers. That gives the Bengals the bye week. That means they get a week to rest and prepare for their next opponent. The Steelers though have to play that 1st playoff weekend and get banged-up and have less time to prepare. And who knows how the other wildcard game goes, so the Steelers might not even MEET the Bengals in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Having a bye week is key to advancing in the playoffs and IIRC only 2 teams have ever made it as wildcards to the SB, and that is the ultimate goal, not avoiding playing a team. It's a lame excuse and I'd laugh at a Bengals fan for even mentioning it. Also why risk injury to your starters trying to throw a game? To make it SEEM to Bellycheck that they were trying to win?
  2. Not necessarily. Most likely if it weren't INT'd it would have been a pass breakup.
  3. Mularkey took the Bills to a 9-7 record as a rookie HC last year. It didn't mean much THIS year. And as for hoping the Bills get Tressel, yeah I'm sure him being gone from OSU would be REAL heart-breaking for you.
  4. Sorry but the "if the game meant anything to Cincy" line of reasoning doesn't wash. And yes if that's how Marvin Lewis approached the game, i.e. "let's lose so we don't have to play Pgh," then yes he IS a worse coach than Mularkey.
  5. Okay...so if we're saying 2001 was TD's best draft, and that was WITH Adams... And I'm sure if Adams' daugher (BillsBabe) posts a thread saying "Bring Dwight Adams BACK!" then it stands to reason she's talked with dad and he DOES want to come back. Okay let's see the players picked by those teams in that draft. I'm going to need some proof rather than just taking your word. Sorry that I don't trust you. I don't trust anyone.
  6. He was, and he's 0-3 against the Bills. And after THAT showing yesterday, I'd put money on them to lose at home to whomever they face in the opening weekend of the playoffs.
  7. No it would have meant the Bengals winning their last 2 games against the Bills and KC and the Broncos losing to at least one of the Raiders or Chargers. You think Bellycheck cares who the Pats face? Again if Marvin Lewis' intention was to get his QB's ass kicked and for them to look bad in losing to the non-playoff Bills just so as to NOT have to play the Steelers, they deserved to lose anyway.
  8. The "O" was a little further DOWN his back.
  9. Hard to figure the guy out. I mean he played for the Vikes for most, if not all, of his career. And he looked like he had saved his job with that run they had. Now this. He really IS a moron.
  10. The 2000 draft was an all-time bust. However the 2001 draft was the best draft under TD and one of the better ones the Bills have had in a decade and a half.
  11. Whom? I'm for putting Gandy at LG because I'm not expecting the Bills to spend a ton on OG's and Gandy can probably do well inside.
  12. The Bills had an excellent draft in 2001. They got Clements, Schobel, Jennings, Edwards and Henry. Hell throw in Jimmy Williams who's had a decent career with SF. That was by far the best draft of the 2000's.
  13. I thought he was with SD? And does he WANT to come back? And does he still have it? I loved what he did for us in the past.
  14. Selling SB tix isn't the same as selling Minny home tix to Steelers fans. In the SB, your team isn't necessarily playing while, and you can make a WAD of cash. I don't have a problem with him calling-out the fans in that way. But the last part is bad.
  15. Yeah and unfortunately that's also the case on plays where it's 3rd down and 5 or more yards are needed.
  16. And the 3rd pick didn't even MAKE the roster. How about that?
  17. Welcome to the [surprisingly calm and agreeable] Jungle!
  18. The Bengals should have been playing for a 1st round bye. A bye week is a huge advantage WRT getting to the SB. If their plan was to lose so as to avoid playing the Steelers in the opening round of the playoffs, when a first round bye meant an extra week to rest and prepare for who knows what team, then they're idiots and deserved to lose anyway. And they still might HAVE to face the Steelers if the Pats lose either of their last 2 games.
  19. I'd take that O-line except for Williams. He doesn't deserve a restructuring-he requires a paycut. But he'll likely refuse. Moreover he's not a good starting RT. Time to admit he was a mistake and move on.
  20. I still think that Gandy can be a good player at OG, and hold-out hope that Preston will be a good center. I think the lack of a good/great center (Teague just never did it for me) has been a big problem for the Bills over the past few years. And if Preston isn't the answer at center, sign one in FA and play Preston at OG.
  21. Moulds did nothing his 1st 2 years in the NFL and he was a late 1st rounder. Evans took half a season WITHOUT being injured, to break-out, and he was a mid-1st rounder. Parrish had the injury and was a mid-2nd rounder. You do the math.
  22. If/when JP goes postal on a sportswriter in the Bills' lockerroom after a loss, THEN you should start worrying.
  23. I think the Parrish and Everett picks were "the straw that broke the camel's back" more than Ralph suddenly turning sour on TD because of those picks. And the above which you mention is a good reason why Ralph has become fed-up with TD, along with other stuff (mainly the poor record and lack of playoffs).
