  1. Think about it. Does anyone think that JP can't beat the Jets, if he's healthy? Look at what he did to Miami IN Miami, for crying out loud. I don't know, can you blame the defensive performance in that game on JP, because the players "didn't respond" to him? Maybe you can blame Eric for having a tantrum (and maybe Eric should have spent the off-season in Buffalo working out with JP, like Lee did), but I doubt that situation repeats itself again. So the only thing I can surmise is that JP is truly injured. The coaches and TD want to win this game so as to at least give them SOME hope of returning (if they lose to the lowly Jets, they're goners for sure), so starting a healthy Holcomb versus an injured JP is a no-brainer.
  2. I have no problem with an open competition. Maybe it will urge JP to work that much harder.
  3. He was, in 2002. And Davis is a luxury pick considering a) they have needs on the OL and DL, if not elsewhere as well, and b) they drafted Everett last year.
  4. I don't think anyone is saying TD has done nothing right. So at least WRT Losman, it's a "wait and see."
  5. Screw it, let ALL the youngers guys play. See what you've got.
  6. So did the refs. Ooops. That was the "Patsy troll" in me.
  7. Nice overstatement. Just saying that coming from NO, anything is an improvement in the "distraction" department.
  8. Martz IS and offensive genius, with particular accent on "offensive." His ego is too great for him to settle for anything other than a HC'ing gig, at least for the short-term (a few years of not working at all might change his mind). But he COULD land a HC'ing gig in Oakland. I just think he'd have to prove that he's 100% again first.
  9. Compared to the Saints?
  10. Can Hutch play center? I know Bentley can play both guard and center and has made the Pro Bowl, but I'm not sure which is his best position. I'd take him if he can play center well.
  11. Cool! More money to get a big-name defenseman for the playoff push!
  12. Freakin' Ottawa, though! Why does it ALWAYS seem that whenever a Buffalo team is great, there is one team better?
  13. I can see that one scenario that was mentioned where TD does contracts, Modrak becomes GM, and Mularkey stays, with a new OC and some MAJOR upgrading on both lines.
  14. So with the win, the Bills dropped from 7 to 11. Not too bad.
  15. To a degree. Now had he complained that the fans were selling them purely to make money off of them, it would be totally hypocritical. But again, the SB wasn't going to be played by Minny last year, the crowd usually doesn't really HAVE a favorite team (mostly suits, which pisses me off), and there are huge sums of money to be made from selling your tex.
  16. Me I'd rather play for the bye week and if I get it, spend the extra time studying the Steelers, installing special plays for them, and then WHALLOPING them when they came to MY house for their 2nd playoff game and my first. But that's just me.
  17. Okay THIS is my last post. I don't disagree that bringing him back might not be the best idea. But that's not because of the 2001 draft, which was his last, and was one of the best in the NFL that year, and certainly the best one of TD's tenure in Buffalo. Yes 2000 sucked, but it sucked for most teams. I'd say it's probably not the best because it's been 5 years since he's been with the team and he might not be as good an evaluator as he once was. It's a skill that declines eventually, like most other things. And there are numerous reasons why the Bills haven't made the playoffs whereas the Panthers and others have, that don't have to do with the 2000 and 2001 drafts. Hopefully the Bills can improve in the future. Later.
  18. The last post on this subject. No one said the Bills had "the best draft in the NFL" that year, dog. They had ONE of the best drafts in the NFL.
  19. Clements never broke a teammates jaw. And Morgan as I said was injured his 1st 2 years, Smith missed all of last year, and Jenkins' career is likely over after suffering a knee injury for the 2nd consecutive season. And the Bills aren't paying big bucks to Jennings to sit in the trainers room.
  20. Saban is sure more overhyped than Mularkey was. And last year there weren't great expectations for the Bills, yet they were the final game away from the playoffs, not out of it with 3 weeks left in the season. Maybe Saban WILL be a great HC. But based on personal experience, you cannot tell that after 1 year.
  21. I've been talking about the ENTIRE 2001 draft. Not the top 2 players, not the 2nd day picks, the ENTIRE draft. And the only draft I'd rate higher is maybe Carolina's, but Morgan was injured for his 1st 2 years, Jenkins' career is probably over after 2 brilliant years, and Smith is a headcase.
  22. I'm not talking about the top 2 players (and WHAT happened to the 2nd day picks argument?), I'm talking the WHOLE draft. Is that the best YOU can do?
  23. Yeah those drafts are MUCH better. Right. Oh and the point with the 2000 draft was that it sucked for most teams.
  24. Ouch! But wait a second, what about their day TWO picks?
  25. I think it's the lack of an effective DT tandem and possibly a "who cares" attitude by NC who knows he probably won't be back in Buffalo next year. Terrence OTOH signed an extension. I just hope that NC's play this year didn't scare-off potential suitors willing to pony-up a 1st rounder after he gets franchised, and I'm glad he made the Pro Bowl, even if it WAS just as an alternate.
