  1. You thought he looked good? He had a 54% completion percentage, no TD's, lost 2 fumbles and threw an INT, and he was playing against several backups. At best I'd give him a "we'll see next year," but that was FAR from a "good" performance. And the Chargers are more "screwed" because there's NO way Brees is coming back quickly from that injury, and since he's an UFA at the end of the year, they will be faced with a tough decision on how to keep him, or if they WILL keep him or not. And the performance today by Rivers can't give them any comfort, knowing that he didn't show much, won't get them what they want in a trade now, AND he might be their only option.
  2. That didn't help matters any. The Chargers are screwed next year.
  3. Having been already knocked-out of the playoffs, this was a meaningless game. But instead it turned into a horror show. Brees suffers what looks like a BAD injury, which means his availability for a good portion of next year could be in doubt. And he's an UFA. So what do the Chargers do with him? Tough decision there, for sure. Then to top things off, Rivers goes into the game and looks bad, REAL bad. So there goes the trade market for him, at least for a 1st rounder. But maybe they'll now have to keep him because of Brees? I don't know, but I would NOT want to be AJ Smith right now.
  4. Hey, most SB teams are wildcard teams. And playing in Denver is easy. I'm sure playing that extra week in the playoffs will only help them be better rested and healthier having to potentially play the Colts or Steelers, versus a dumb old bye week.[/sarcasm]
  5. That's because it should be said "Yeh, baby. Pull me air and smack me boum." The accent adds quite a bit.
  6. Well that's the rub. Would you take a coach who will give you a good team most years but will NEVER win a SB, or try for a coach who has no known history of being UNABLE to win the SB? Cowher's teams have had more thana few chances to win it all, but have always come up short. That's no coincidence.
  7. Well NOW it doesn't matter for the Bengals. They blew their chance at a coveted and important first round bye LAST weekend, which supercedes any fantastical notion that they lost on purpose to avoid playing the Steelers, a team they had a less-than 25% chance of meeting in round 2 (had the Bengals won and ended up with a bye). The oddsmakers figure the Bengals will rest their starters to get a bye of sorts, and thus lose to the Chefs who will be at home and probably playing for pride.
  8. I think you still have the bird flu. You think that Bellycheck "isn't onto" anything? And what momentum is to be gained by the starters playing the whole game and winning? I'd say the starters playing enough to get a lead on the Dols is enough. Yeah, that was me.
  9. I think you have bird flu. Just FYI, the Pats will have their 2nd team take the field against the Dolphins probably after the 1st quarter, and Saban is having the Dolphins play to win, so the Bengals will STILL have to face the Steelers. So if that was their plan, they failed MISERABLY.
  10. Doesn't he have a brother named Phil?
  11. What's Savage's resume? If the Bills bring him aboard, it's basically sayonara to TD AND Modrak.
  12. Did Savage have anything to do with the drafts after Policy/Clark left? If so, he SHOULD be fired.
  13. The Bills will address the lines this off-season. I think there's no other option for them. They have the skill positions on offense (Moulds needs to be reworked, but there's always a veteran WR in FA who can help a team out) and the biggest pieces missing on defense were a DT and Spikes, who might be back. We'll see, but I do NOT see the Bills being worse next year.
  14. The agent is in on the whole thing!
  15. What is CST? The Church of ScienTology?
  16. We'd rather be "losers" of football games than our football team.
  17. Enormous faith in God and "His will."
  18. I don't see the reason to play a guy, even if he IS the future for you at QB, when he's not 100%, when the season is over. It's not like the O-line suddenly became great and will be ensured to protect him well.
  19. It's accepting a demotion for TD and Modrak being confident enough to want to BE the new GM and do things his way.
  20. What did JP do to Eric in the Miami game? Not throw to him, and instead throw to Lee for 3 TD's. Yeah, what an ahole! I could MAYBE see him throwing a tantrum if JP were ignoring him when he was wide open and drives were stalling, but come on! And the Pats game was a combo of missing Eric (like the 2nd half of the Miami game) plus the after-effects of blowing a HUGE lead to a division rival, not to mention JP getting injured early. And it's not like the defense could have stopped the Pats ANYWAY, even if the offense weren't crap.
  21. Would anyone be angry if TD stayed-on to negotiate contracts and manage the cap, like the rumor said? I wouldn't. Just as long as GM duties go to someone else, I wouldn't mind one bit.
  22. Well all I can say is, IF JP is truly healthy enough to play and play well, and IF that's true and Mularkey doesn't think that JP could beat the Jets, we're really in trouble. I just don't think JP is healthy enough to be able to play effectively enough to win.
  23. It's like a telephone massage.
  24. We took our (then 3-1/2 year old) son to take it last Christmastime. We all loved it. I thought they'd release it every year, but instead they put it out on DVD, which we bought, and I haven't seen that it's playing it in any theaters (let alone the IMAX theater nearby) recently. It's still excellent, but the IMAX experience is unbeatable.
