  1. If the Bills get Haslett as DC, I just hope that Bentley liked him enough as a HC to want to come to Buffalo.
  2. Modrak has GM experience. Bellychick never did. I don't think it will be a huge problem. What will be important is getting and drafting the right players, and getting some good assistant coaches.
  3. Kenny Mayne was a star? Is he still on Sportscenter/ESPN?
  4. You beat me to it.
  5. Prior to the 1990's, Ralph was cheap. But since then, his coaching hires have had NOTHING to do with cheapness. He had Marv and IIRC, Marv wasn't underpaid. Then he hired Phillips, who was the Bills' DC, and it's not uncommon to promote from within, right? Then Williams was a hot head coaching prospect, was he not? And Mularkey was more of a sell-job by TD IMHO, and the other top candidates were interested in other jobs. And the point about the discrepancy WRT paying players but not paying coaches is a great one.
  6. How do you or anyone ELSE know how Marv will perform as VP of football operations (i.e. GM)? Just because he's 80 means he can't be a good one? Now I'd agree with you if Marv were hired as HC, where you need to be mentally sharp (or let me say, sharper than a still-sharp 80-year old). But he's not. It's not like he as a 40-second play-clock on VP/GM duties. And I think that Marv's first order of business will be to fix the O- and D-lines. Sometimes it takes an outsider's perspective to see what the real problems are.
  7. I think Capers' time has passed even as a DC. I don't know, just a hunch.
  8. A nice gesture by Bellychick would have been to play him at QB, not have him attempt some archaic play that no one has done (for good reason) in over 64 years. What's next, have Flutie run the "Wing T?"
  9. By pipe I thought you meant bong, not tailpipe. Stop sucking on it already.
  10. If the Bills' HC'ing job is truly his dream job, then taking the DC position would make perfect sense for him. I'd take him as DC.
  11. PC will never be a successful NFL coach. But someone will think he will be.
  12. Sorry but they're not even the best team in the AFC. But it WAS funny to hear Marcia whine about how little respect the Pats get. And what was more sad is that in an otherwise meaningless game, they didn't even give him snaps at QB. I mean if this is your swan song, why go out kicking a gimmick drop kick?
  13. That never stopped a lot of players from coming out early.
  14. My take is that TD was with the Bills for 5 years and for whatever reason, the team never made the playoffs and had a losing record over his tenure. How much more time could you give him? A change had to be made. And no one knows if this will work, but what choice do we have? Let them have a chance to prove Ralph's moves were right or wrong.
  15. After seeing the 1st half, if he can keep it up, Vince Young will probably make the decision to come out this year, pushing another player down towards #8 for the Bills. Let's go Vince! Too bad Brady Quinn is returning.
  16. Brilliant move trying to lateral the ball, Reggie.
  17. Did Marv actually SAY he was going to fix the O-line? Or is this an assumption? I think it's a good assumption, but I'd like to know he actually said it.
  18. What did Marv say AFTER the Jets game? Hmmmm.
  19. Everyone has an opinion...
  20. Why is it assumed that Modrak is a TD puppet, or a clone? Is AJ Smith a clone of Butler?
  21. Evans 4.33. And Jabari Greer is supposed to be the fastest. Adams, who knows?
  22. I address that in post #24:
  23. It's not a plus for ANYONE. On one had you have a cocky 24 year old newbie. OTOH you have veterans with sensitive feelings. Grow up, do your job, and win!
  24. Ooops, forgot to add Wyche to the above. I don't know if I'd get rid of him, but he's a friend of Mularkey's...
