  1. Exactly. These guys aren't, and SHOULDN'T, be going anywhere. And if they were on another team that made a HC'ing change's staff, they'd still be there as well. How this is an issue is beyond me. I agree on Marv not ruling himself out as HC, but Wilson did that and HE has ultimate authority.
  2. Derrick Mason chose the Ravens over the Pats last off-season, even though the Pats were coming off a SB win and the Ravens were looking bad, and despite the Pats offering him more money. IOW, I agree with you.
  3. Hopefully Ralph sees that NE is paying Bellychick handsomely, and that the Dolphins are doing the same.
  4. If that's the list, it's Haslett.
  5. Except that Haslett would take the job in a millisecond.
  6. Actually I think the team ends up looking and smelling like a rose. They didn't fire their HC after just 2 seasons, which as I said sends a bad message to other potential coaches, and Mularkey ends up looking like a wuss. The Bills get to start over with a new coaching staff and some decent assistant coaching candidates out there.
  7. I think the Bills have a chance to add some real good assistant coaches this year, at the very least. There are a good number of good DC's and some good OC's.
  8. Hey, Ralph apparently liked Mularkey and wanted to keep him as HC. And firing him after 2 seasons would have sent a worse message than is being sent now.
  9. Mularkey should have resigned when TD was fired. Apparently he realized his situation when he couldn't get any decent assistant coaches and probably his kids were being harrassed even more this past week. Again I feel bad for him, but this HAD to happen, and better sooner rather than later. The alternative was keeping Mularkey and having assistants on the order of Vinklarek, Ronnie Jones, etc.
  10. Yeah a lot of offensive and defensive coordinators and positional coaches have become HC's, but not ST's coaches.
  11. How many ST's coaches have become NFL HC's?
  12. Except that if reports are true that they tried to talk him out of leaving, he'll get paid something. Maybe not the $3M he has left, but a good chunk of that.
  13. With the revelation that Mularkey couldn't find assistant coaches, and that the criticism deeply affected him and his family, although I feel bad for him, it was only a good thing for the Bills that he resigned. A head coach cannot take criticism like that to heart too much, to the point of it making him want to quit. That's not who the Bills want or need as a HC. Also had he stayed, it's likely the Bills would have had to settle for some lame assistant coaches instead of the good ones that are out there. Would that have pleased anyone? I'm just glad I'm finding this out NOW instead of later, if at all. Now hopefully the Bills can find some good assistants and a HC. I think they have a good chance of that.
  14. Unfortunately for the Aints there was no Mo Lewis equivalent.
  15. I'd love Sherman as an OC. With him and a DC like Jauron, McGinnis, Bates, Capers, etc., I'd be totally fine with Haslett as HC. A head coach who loves his situation and who has good assistants is a good thing to have.
  16. Sullivan has been a bust. Howard and Grant are good. Smith is up and down. Outside of them, they don't have a lot except for McAllister, Horn, and Bentley. And this year they had 16 road games.
  17. "Most talented teams in the NFL?" Hardly!
  18. There are no more Herschel Walker type trades anymore. JJ's SB-winning days are LONG gone.
  19. Make him DC. I'd love that. Or Jim Bates.
  20. Coaches in their 2nd stint as HC usually have greater success.
  21. If Mularkey quit because of something the Bills did, then I'd be worried. But the impression I get is that Mularkey is a nice/sensitive guy, and that the season took a major toll on him and his family. While what happened to his son is inexcusable and I feel bad for him and Mularkey, a HC needs to have thicker skin (Jim Mora Jr. as was reported has had this happen to him and his kids). Also the fact that he couldn't hire assistants because of his lame duck status also leads me to believe he saw that he'd never get anyone worthwhile, suffer through another miserable season, and make it worse for himself and his family. I think he made the right decision.
  22. I think it's a combo of what happened to his son, the fact that he can't get any assistant coaches, and pride.
  23. A troll is someone who visits other people's websites, only responds to posts about his/her team, and who posts inflammatory remarks. Sorry you conveniently didn't feel like going back through all of HD's posts, "Holcomb's Arm," but it's not unexpected. And neither is your defense of HD.
  24. LOL! Okay "Holcomb's Arm," if HD isn't a troll, there ARE no trolls anywhere.
