No way! I don't know who said they wanted to get rid of him, but they're on drugs. Most "experts" have Clements as the top CB in FA, and letting him get away for free would be dumb. The Bills will have cap room to franchise him, keep the guys they want, AND still pursue other players, so trying to get something for him would be smart. Again at worst you keep him for $5.9M or you release him.

I don't know if they're saying D-line will be the first pick in the draft. I think they're saying that they'll look at D-line first in FA. Then O-line. Then look to draft people to fill in what they couldn't in FA.

Yep. Try to work out a long-term contract. If that doesn't work, franchise him. Then try and trade him. If they can't, they either keep him for the year or remove the tag and let him walk.

Washington will be released by the Raiders soon. When he is, I'm sure the Bills will come calling. No need to trade anyone for him, much less Clements.

I agree that Williams is gone (unless he takes a massive paycut, which I don't see), and that Moulds should be approached about a big paycut. However I also don't see him taking anything substantial, and that will force the Bills to make a decision. And cutting him only to replace him with Parrish isn't the only option, as I see them looking at the FA WR pool (Givens, Bryant, Wayne, Jurevicius, Bradford, McCardell Boerigter, etc.).

With Moulds on the roster, he eats up ~$10.8M in cap room, which is ~$6.1M in salary and another ~$4.8M in bonuses. Cutting him adds an additional ~$1.6M to cap, but saves the Bills ~$4.5M. The question isn't whether we want all that dead cap money on next year's cap, but if the $4.5M can be better spent?

So...would you trade up for Mario Williams, who looks to be another Peppers?

Compare this team to the Bears of last year. On the D-line, they have the players except at NT (Fat Ted or that guy from Baltimore). At LB'er, assuming TKO can come back, they're comparable. The secondary is even pretty comparable with maybe some tweaking needed there at safety.
