  1. The Moulds situation is one of paying an older WR on the decline a TON of money, when you could sign a younger, cheaper, and (at this stage of Moulds' career) just as good WR. If Moulds takes say, at least a $2.5M paycut, then I'd keep him, since the difference ($4.5M-$2.5M=$2M) is pretty much what a new WR would cost anyway. Again I'm going on the assumption that none of the guys I mentioned takes a paycut. By restructuring Schobel, I meant giving him more money in bonus to reduce his base salary and cap hit. He's young and will be with the Bills for awhile, so it's a good move. And as for Fletcher, I should have clarified that I meant extend, because he's only got 1 year left on his contract.
  2. I'm not denouncing the premise that using high picks on the lines is a sound idea. I'm just saying (and this didn't come across unfortunately) that using the Pats were the exception, not the rule.
  3. The Pats won their 3 SB's not because they drafted high along their lines, but because they had coaches who could take whatever they were given and make something of it. Prior to this season they had an uncanny ability to plug in ANYONE and still win.
  4. I was going to post that. If he runs fast, he'll move up several spots.
  5. Did you tell them that the Bills pick BEFORE the Rams? And Ngata won't fall out of the top-10, if not top-8. I could actually see him gone before the Bills pick.
  6. Were you wearing a low-cut top? Those things will make men do almost anything.
  7. On the "These Players Must Be Released" thread, I outlined which players I think should be cut and restructured, and the final analysis was that the Bills could be about $30M under the cap without hurting the team too much, and with a real chance to improve the team if they get some good FA's in here. And while it wasn't a 1-for-1 WRT replacing the cut players, remember there is a draft and the Bills will have at least 8 picks (and I'm expecting a 9th, as a comp pick).
  8. Matt Schobel would be a good 3rd TE pickup. Since his bro plays for the Bills, it's something I could see happening.
  9. Ask yourself this: why WOULD a guy like Kraft put up the money for a stadium by himself instead of asking for taxpayer's money? You think it's ALL because he's altruistic? Yeah, right. I'm all for giving the guys who put up money for their own stadiums and such a little something extra to cover costs. I also think that Ralph should have to sell the naming rights to RWS and that Blank should have to start charging for what he was previously giving away for free. It's called a compromise.
  10. I disagree with this and think that the Bills have a good chance to improve themselves rapidly. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  11. Not if they release (at a good portion of) the guys I mentioned. The Bills were lousy with all of them, but with around $30M in cap room, could add a significant amount of talent.
  12. Veruca Salt would be proud.
  13. and then... I'm not surprised at any of those teams except the Panthers.
  14. The Bills can still put Preston at C if they can't sign Bentley. But Villarrial needs to be replaced. Maybe sign Kendall or put Gandy at RG? I don't know how he'll respond and I don't want to potentially tank the season trying to find out.
  15. Probably a masking agent (must be missing the dreds, so I'd guess Propecia). He admitted after he retired that he used to drink a gallon of masking agent before tests. Interestingly enough, no one picked-up on that story and ran with it.
  16. Yeah, that's a LOT better than a towel, and much cheaper.
  17. I'd rather get-on with the youth movement and replace Villy with Preston, and as I said before, make a strong push for Bentley and maybe an UFA RT like Tom Ashworth. And Burns could be cut at anytime so he's not that big of a deal. I just added him because I think that Gates could replace him at half the cost. Hopefully, but I'd rather have a guy in the mold of Moulds rather than expect Lee to duplicate the success of Smith.
  18. That's what I was thinking. I'd also add Milloy to Moulds, but there are younger guys out there who could replace them for the same cap hits as what cutting these guys would save.
  19. The above guys, with the exception of BA, are on the wrong side of 30 and making a good amount of money. Milloy I could see keeping, but not the rest, especially not Posey to be a backup.
  20. No news. But if they don't, they'll kill the sport.
  21. No, HERE is who needs to be released, assuming he doesn't take a massive paycut (cap savings per Clump): Williams-$4,907,098 Moulds-$4,522,334 Milloy-$2,500,000 Villarrial-$1,781,250 Posey-$1,750,000 Campbell-$1,000,000 B. Anderson-$893,840 Shelton-$768,840 Neufeld-$672,826 Wire-$600,000 Burns-$538,840 That's a cap savings of $19,935,028! Add that to the $6,474,477M Clumpy says the Bills will be under (based on a cap of $93,500,000), and it's $26,409,505 (give or take a dollar) they could be under the cap! But wait, there are guys like Fletcher ($4,900,000 cap hit), Schobel ($4,566,666) Adams ($3,875,000), Evans ($2,280,065), and Gandy ($1,955,000) who they can and SHOULD restructure, to free-up another $3M or so. Think almost $30M would be enough money to get new FA's?
  22. Whether or not a team makes an offer to their own UFA('s) makes no difference.
