  1. You guys really think that teams will be lining up to sign MW and pay him serious jack, when he's shown he can't stay healthy, play through pain, play well consistently, and is at best a guard?
  2. You're on. Of course it's fictitious internet bucks, but...
  3. The writing was on the wall when Marv openly questioned whether he had the desire and motivation. I knew he was gone from that moment.
  4. $50 says no one picks him up for more than $1M a year, and that team is NOT the Pats.
  5. Who else are you going to bring in as a LT? It appears that the only guy worth pursuing now is Shaffer, but he won't come cheap.
  6. Marv just said this on NFL Network.
  7. Depends on what they can get in FA. My post on who they should get rid of to creat $30M in cap space includes 11 players, with the Bills signing 5 players, leaving a net loss of 6. And my idea of trading up for Williams involves giving up their 8th and their 2-3rd rounders, which would still leave them with 6 draft picks, maybe even 7 if they get a comp pick.
  8. You want 3 new OL? I'd rather stick with Peters at LT (again, that's where he's been groomed and only played RT because of Williams being a bust), move Gandy inside to LG, and at worst put Preston at RG. That would necessitate finding a new center and RT, which is much more doable.
  9. Just hit the "Stats" link at the top of the page and go to town!
  10. He made 10 starts and gave up 1.5 sacks. http://snap.stats.com/stats/nflinfo/player...=7122&Submit=Go
  11. I never wanted him in the first place...at least not at the price he was going to be asking for. Sure he's a great guard, but IMHO the 3 most important positions on the O-line are NOT OG. And Bentley has been a Pro Bowler at OG and OC.
  12. The Bills could try and sign him, but at $6.3M for the transition tag, fuggedaboutit!
  13. Wait until Allaire gets him in the Bod Pod. He'll get that BF% down to 3 in NO time. LOL!
  14. I agree. I really see only 7 "top" players (Bush, Leinart, Young, Williams, Ferguson, Hawk, and Ngata), and Cutler's rise only helps push one of them down to the Bills. I still wish the Bills could trade up to get a guy like Williams, but that seems impossible.
  15. Fine. He can sit out and make NO money. I'd sau $5.89M is better than nothing, wouldn't you? And NO player has EVER sat out the season because he was franchised, for that reason.
  16. After you mentioned it, I thought I remembered that a team can't re-sign a player they just cut, or for a certain period of time, or something like that. I guess the only avenue left is for them to add a year to his contract without giving him more money. Sank you.
  17. That part wasn't for you per se, because I know the answer. With those kinds of numbers, Eric should allow the Bills to cut him and re-sign him for just $2M, which still puts him at over $5M for the past 6 years. But who are we kidding here?
  18. Well if I'm not mistaken, now that I think about it, Eric can only take a 30% reduction in base salary. If that's the case, he can only reduce his base salary by $1.83M. And if that's the case, he's got to go. And I looked into the numbers, and since his new deal in 2001, he's made $28.66M the past 5 years, for an average of $28.66M (assuming a total contract value of $42M). Has Eric been worth an average of over $5M a year the past 5 years?
  19. Again, I'm saying PAYCUT (of at least $2.5M, which still leaves him with a decent salary of $3.589M for the year), not restructure. And again I'm not expecting him to take it, so sayonara. But if he does, keep him, since the Bills will be spending around $2M ($4.5M cap savings-$2.5M paycut=$2M) to get a replacement.
  20. Oh the cash is there. They just have to clear it. Again I laid-out a plan in the "These players must be released" thread.
  21. If the Bills can't get Bentley, I'd go after the Titan's Justin Hartwig. He's also been in the league for 4 years, is a good player, and is still getting better.
