  1. Actually the only reason Davis' stock was lower is because many people thought like that weakness section from above, i.e. that he was short (6'1") and slow. Boy were THEY wrong.
  2. I've heard that the Wonderlic is mostly meaningless...unless the player scores at the extremes, like under 10 or over 35.
  3. That's why I said an "unfettered" Jim McNally. I discount a lot that's happened these past 5 years.
  4. I don't see why it would make a difference. He's a gifted pass receiver and his size and speed numbers are off the chart! Plus he's got the size to help in the blocking department. I'd say as a TE he's SEXIER than a WR. In completely hetero terms, of course.
  5. IIRC, Jennings made some all-rookie teams at RT. Maybe "superb" was goign overboard, but he had a good rookie season, for essentially an early 4th round pick.
  6. Word is VY scored a 16 on the retake.
  7. Any QB the Bills add will be cheap and unheralded. He'll be given a shot to win the starting job, but it won't be likely that he'll win it.
  8. It certainly is a risk putting Preston at center. I personally would rather have an established guy like Bentley, Hartwig, or McKinney in there and Preston at RG. But if (an unfettered) Jim McNally thinks that Preston can start, who am I to argue?
  9. ...except Moulds, is has one foot out the door.
  10. Uh, the report he scored a 6 has been proven wrong.
  11. I don't know. One month ago, what were your odds of Moulds taking a paycut and staying with the Bills?
  12. Bentley will be a Brown. I heard that from a guy scouting the Combine.
  13. Fill the line positions in FA and if the other guys are gone, take Davis and convert him to WR. Mama.
  14. The other numbers mean more, as does the 10-yard split.
  15. Well to be fair, JJ DID have a superb rookie season. His future at RT was high and it was a great pick by TD. However with MW being a rookie and the Bills thinking JJ was a better option at LT than TT, they ended up making the switch. Had they drafted McKinnie, they likely would have played HIM at LT and kept JJ at RT, which might have worked out better. But as I said, given the same circumstances (being drafted 4th overall, same contract, same production as he's had in Minny), right now we'd be talking about what a bust McKinnie has been for the 4th overall, even though he is an average-at-best starter at LT.
  16. Who would trade for a 34-year old WR with a $6 and $7M base salary on his contract that will get released anyway?
  17. How do you figure that a replacement for Moulds (unless it's TO), will cost "3-4 mil" in cap hit this year? Usually, at best a Pro Bowl/Franchise player costs $3M against the cap his first year with his new team, because the first year salary is around the minimum, to off-set the huge signing bonus. But without signing a guy like TO and no other marquee players out there, the cap hit should be more like the range of $2-2.25M. That still produces a savings of $2-2.25M (or $3-3.5M, depending on your source). That's a whole other FA.
  18. Yeah, it's coming back to me. JJ was tried at center and couldn't hack it, despite most predicting he'd be a great one. Hence the need to play Teague there, since he'd done it in college.
  19. Word now is that Young didn't actually get a 6. The grader screwed-up and before the error was discovered, the erroneous grade got leaked and spread like wildfire. Wow, the NFL is rapidly becoming a joke.
  20. Didn't they try him at center first before putting him at LT? I seem to recall that. And yes he was put at LT after MW was drafted and they didn't want to start him at LT.
  21. Maybe it went something like this: "Damn, we're up 21-0 on these suckers! Why couldn't we have done that ALL season long? I'm sick of this shiite. I'm going to listen to my iPod."
  22. I don't know about that. Had the Bills selected McKinnie at #4 overall and he got the same contract and played the way he's played in Minny, I think the Bills would be asking HIM to take a paycut as well, and seriously think about cutting him. McKinnie gets a reprieve in Minny mostly because his cap numbers are a little more palatable and there is a new coaching staff in place.
  23. Could the Bills have even AFFORDED to keep more than 1 of them?
  24. Yeah. For the money, Gandy was a steal. And Bledsoe would have led the Bills maybe to a win or 2 more, but they still wouldn't have made the playoffs and would have just dropped lower in the draft while delaying Losman's development even further.
