  1. Don't know if you're referring to me, but I've said this. I want NO to take a QB so that Mario Williams falls farther down, allowing the Bills to trade up reasonably to get him. If NO signs Brees (or Culpepper), I doubt they take a QB with their 2nd overall.
  2. The ONLY thing that makes sense is that Brees is damaged goods. With the way their offense has been running with him, the amount of money they have in cap room, and the fact that the Dols are looking to give him a contract based on him returning to pre-injury form, there's no other way to look at it BUT that way. A power struggle that gets rid of a seeminly great player like Brees is a sure way to get BOTH guys fired.
  3. He'll do as much to help their offense as Antoine did to help their defense. Insane.
  4. Word is that his shoulder isn't coming along as fast as his doctor says it is. Otherwise why would you let him walk? And if he accepts a reasonable deal with Miami that could easily be matched by SD, why wouldn't he have accepted that type of deal in the first place? The Chargers are futher along than the Dols.
  5. Word is the Dols were offering a lot less, but the chance to make more if he did well. I hope Drew is smart and holds out for the big bucks. As I said before, he's damaged goods, the Dols have no LT or center, and they have Mularkey as their OC.
  6. Good. I hope they spend a ton of money on him.
  7. PG: The new CBA calls for $30M annually to be split among the 17 lowest-revenue-generating teams, and this year has an additional $22.5M to be split among them. So at best, you're looking at a little over $3M a team this year, and a little less than $2M a team thereafter. IOW, bad deal for the majority of the league.
  8. With Royal, it's more like red chipper, as in red zone.
  9. Oh and you can denigrate the Browns' moves if you want, HF. They signed a great center, but they seriously overpaid for Shaffer, IMHO, and for all the world, downgraded from Shelton last year. Plus they added Jurevicius, but he's a 3rd WR at this point in his career and won't even replace the production of Antonio Bryant, who is gone. And they added a punter. And Fat Ted, who many here were questioning signing at just $2M a year to be a 38-year old part-time player, much less for $3.5M a year. Or they were all great moves. I guess we'll see.
  10. ...so? Did the Bills want/need him? Are the Cards on the cusp of being SB contenders or is their ENTIRE history one of being a poorly-run underachieving franchise? I mean, he's just one player.
  11. And most apropos of all... HenryFumbles=ICE. Got Redass?
  12. Who is chastising the Browns (and what have the Cards done?)?
  13. LOL! And it looks like the Browns spent a ton on a RT.
  14. Get Oakland moving! I want NO to take a QB with their 2nd overall pick.
  15. Well considering the Bills would be giving up (points-wise) their 8th overall, and a 3rd and 4th round pick, I think that Williams would make more of an impact than the players the Bills could get at those positions. The Bills will still have a 2nd and 3rd rounder, should get at least a 4th round comp pick, and their remaining picks.
  16. Faustus, Peters had been PRACTICING at LT since he came to the Bills and switched to OL. He only played RT after Williams went down. So he really made the switch from LT to RT last year, and will be switching back.
  17. Your guess is as good as mine. I think he'll be a great addition to the ST's at the very least. And his size and speed intrigue me.
  18. The past 2 years, he's averaged over 20 YPC! Although it's for a small number of catches, so it's not statistically significant.
  19. Marv has that grandpa quality about him. Awww.
  20. Definitely Williams. But I see Ferguson going to the Jets at #4.
  21. Here, let me help you out. The salary cap this year under the previous CBA was going to be $94.5M, and for the sake of simplicity, let's say it was going to be $96.5M for 2007. Now it's $102M and next year will be $109M. That is a difference of $20M over the next 2 years. However assuming a "bare-bones revenue sharing plan," Ralph gets no additional money, while possibly having to spend $20M more over the next 2 years. That eats into profits. And eating into your profits is never a good thing, especially when you need those profits to pay for signing bonuses.
